  1. I'm confused about what you think is so chunky about this? I have an MP5 with a CompM2 clone on it and that looks fine to me! Almost as confused at the thought of a red dot being particularly useful on a DMR...
  2. Yeah, volts are volts. The EFCS can't tell what it's coming from unless it's set up to detect specific voltage ranges as being acceptable. That might form part of its battery protection for example so that it knows not to keep running and deep discharge your battery. In theory it may be possible that they have set two specific levels for that function (ie 7.4 and 11.1) so it can't work out where to stop with a 9.9v battery but that just seems like piss poor design. Oh...wait....airsoft. That'll be what it is.
  3. Good points all but don't assume that the gearbox has any sort of quality grease unless you've cleaned it out and redone it yourself. My guns have lithium grease on the gears, but they mostly came with some kind of amalgam of earwax and glue that Chinese manufacturers call grease.
  4. I think that this is the critical bit most people miss. The horror stories about LiPos mostly come from the RC scene where there are much bigger batteries and a higher chance of kinetic disassembly. The more likely culprit in airsoft is either user error whereby the user charges them on a cheap POS charger or user error where they just wilfully mistreat them. Sounds like bullshit but if they have set up any sort of voltage level checking in their mosfet they might just refuse to work with anything of too high/low a voltage. My G&G SR25 doesn't like 7.4v LiPos and beeps like mad before deciding not to play. Haven't tried it with a LiFe yet but just an example for you.
  5. The rifle on its own is about a kilo lighter. How the LPVO/RDS stacks up against a SUSAT someone else would have to check.
  6. https://www.reddit.com/r/SneakyBackgroundFeet/ Go on. I dare you.
  7. Pretty sure those are a slightly different set of balls altogether...
  8. Accessories like what, exactly?
  9. BE CAREFUL with those tabs. If they snap you'll need a new receiver.
  10. Has someone changed the hop unit? The original is a two part unit that should come apart when you split the receiver. If it's the original receiver but an aftermarket, one piece hop unit then the hop unit itself may be getting stuck as the receiver has a different profile.
  11. ESS still make the Turbofan Profile model but they seem to be moving towards a passive anti-fog solution. Probably down to weight/battery availability at a guess? See if they're at DSEI and ask?
  12. Storage charging is really only needed if you're planning to not use them for several months.
  13. They've pretty much all gone online! We had a surprising lack of surplus stores where I grew up given that it was up the road from Sandhurst and Aldershot. HM Supplies was in the town (Camberley) and there was always a good stall at the weekly market at Blackbushe but otherwise you were pretty much stuck with high end military tailors or places flogging new Kombat UK gear!
  14. Honestly - don't waste your time. Unless your inner barrel is flapping about like a dick in a shirtsleeve, wrapping anything around it to stabilise it is a bit pointless unless you're looking to make it into a DMR in which case there's plenty of other things to try first.
  15. Yes...and no. All springs will lose power over time because their very nature makes it happen. Bad springs just lose power more quickly. The trick is using a spring that degrades at an acceptable rate.
  16. It's £25, make an educated guess. Good optics cost money, that said airsoft guns are not so accurate that bad parallax actually makes much of a difference. It can be annoying but that's about it.
  17. I wouldn't worry so much about the M-Lok as that gopping stock but each to their own.
  18. I have a couple of LPVOs with red dot (Docter type) sights on. If you have the LPVO zoomed to anything other than x1 then the red dot does allow for more situational awareness if you're shooting at something up close. Mine sit on top of the optic though. I do also have an SR-25k with angled iron sights but that is purely for looks. Canting an airsoft gun is a really good way of not actually hitting what you're aiming at!
