  1. Astigmatism does make contact lenses a tricky proposal but not impossible by any means.
  2. Or screw it up completely if you don't know what you're doing...
  3. If the outside wears quickest then you either underpronate or possibly you are a "heel striker". I tend to walk on the balls of my feet. Get your gait analysed though, definitely worthwhile. Plenty of good running stores can do it too but might charge.
  4. Ah but if that was what you were doing you'd take it apart and do it properly. Wouldn't you?
  5. As a custom painter I don't even know where to begin with this. Any paint (Krylon included) will always adhere better to a bare substrate with the correct primer. Not all primers are the same either - metal primer will not work on plastics for example. In the case of Krylon and airsoft guns then you need to make sure that you either use the range of Krylon that has a built in plastic adhesion promoter (Fusion they're called) or use an appropriate primer. Unless of course you want to achieve the look alluded to by Jcheeseright up there which is that of an actual battle worn weapon. Of course, if that's what you want don't even worry about thin layers. I doubt very much that a L33T Oper8tor gives a crap about long term paint adhesion or even runs/fingerprints/fisheyes and all the other joys that come with paint. I doubt they even care if the fire selector leaves a little black mark when they move it.
  6. It can do. Depends on the cause. Mine is quite often weight related but I've lost three stone since Christmas so I'm hoping it's gone for good. If you don't wear proper, well fitted footwear you can make it come back. It's worth seeing if your local hospital has an orthotics dept. They can usually do gait analysis and recommend what type of footwear you need. I under-pronate (basically my feet don't roll inwards when I walk so I tend to walk on the outside of my feet) which means I need trainers with maximum cushioning and little to no arch support. My GP thought I had fallen arches which would have steered me down completely the wrong avenue for footwear!
  7. Fobus make a light bearing holster for glocks. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/271259144836?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&chn=ps&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108&ff19=0 It may still need a bit of fettling to make sure there's no interference with that particular torch of course.
  8. What's your budget? Any brand of walking boots that has GTX or GoreTex in the name would be OK.
  9. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is filming just around the corner from my office!

Pics! (or it didn't happen :P)

      Hooray! Another sh*tty zombie film!

  10. Although I think you meant Rogue Trooper there not Strontium Dog (what with the Helm, Gunnar and Bagman references)
  11. Except an L85 IS a gun. It is also a rifle of course but then "rifle" is just a sub set of "gun".
  12. I'll be making a donation but as I look 12 when I shave I'll be keeping my current beard for the duration. Fantastic cause though.
  13. Is that really what you meant to say?
  14. Sort of. If you don't want one with a rail there's loads of options (serpa, fobus, imi). With a rail, not so much. With a torch it's pretty much only safariland or clones (which is what I have). If the choice is a gen4 glock or a we m9 I'd say glock. TM M9 or the socom gear one would be better.
  15. I had a custom orthotics which helped massively but if you get it back again try one of these: http://www.ossur.co.uk/injury-solutions/products/foot-and-ankle/night-splints/exoform-dorsal-night-splint (I have an older less complex version but the principle is the same). The hold your foot in flexion overnight which allows the tendon to heal in a stretched out position. Works a treat.
  16. The Nextorch is bloody ace (particularly for the money). The gun is fine and dandy. The 1911 is a WE rebrand and suffers from the same problems that the WE does, but the M9A1 is ALSO a WE rebrand. However unlike the WE it has an adjustable hop and due to the size of the mag (and hence gas reservoir) doesn't suffer the same issues as the 1911 in terms of gas capacity. However, it's not all rosey. The outer barrel fits like a dick in a shirtsleeve and the slide catch is a bit floppier than I'd like. I'm tempted to start looking at upgrade parts but to be honest it's reliable and accurate enough for the ranges I'm using it at so..... If you're looking at Glocks then an M9 probably isn't for you anyway. They're seriously hefty pieces of kit and definitely not for anyone with small hands (like Glocks are). I have hands like a bear so...
  17. I had Plantar Fasciitis. Have you tried a night splint? Fixed mine (eventually).
  18. Seriously? Do we have to keep doing this?
  19. I'd say no, but this one http://www.componentshop.co.uk/11-1v-1000mah-20c-continuous-discharge-airsoft-lipo-battery.html should. Assuming a milspec buffer tube (which is the smaller of the two) you would have somewhere around 27mm ID to play with. The battery I posted is less than 26mm diagonally so you should be ok. Bit tight but OK.
