  1. Try a different site. Ironsight down by Andover is pretty good fun.
  2. It's called titanium gold because it's supposed to look like Titanium Nitride which has a gold colour to it. Often used on motorbike forks because it helps reduce friction (and looks nice).
  3. Seems I need to take my own advice! Just took my M4 apart to see why it had jammed....piston head had come unscrewed. D'OH! Off to buy more threadlock.

No, no, I meant - "I must away to AK2M4 whence I shall purchase a new one!" which I have. Shiny.

Only bearing piston heads come apart it seems, either loads of thread glue, spring washer, nylon locking nut, or add a thin neoprene washer behind piston to act as a spring washer to stop that mofo coming apart.

  4. Nice. You've made a decent job of that!
  5. Not going this Sunday I'm afraid - house hunting.
  6. I have big hands too hence I was interested as an alternative to my m9. How is the accuracy/range etc?
  7. To be fair he has the KAC one on his M4 so you could argue that it's just been swapped over....
  8. I know what you mean. I actually managed to bend one of the pins once being a bit cack handed. I've also managed to push the latch button in so far it wouldn't come back out. Once you get the knack it's ok though. Mine now has a BTC Spectre mosfet and it's SOOOOOOO much better! Properly snappy trigger response.
  9. As a complete aside - what do you think of your TM P226? Thinking of getting one.
  10. Just for a bit of general background you may want to take a look at these: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium_polymer_battery#Safety https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium_polymer_battery https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium-ion_battery It helps explain that the Lithium Ion battery in your phone is the same technology as the Lithium Ion Polymer battery in your gun for starters.
  11. Re the bold part: https://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=chrome-psyapi2&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8&q=lithium%20ion%20battery%20explosion&oq=lithium%20ion%20&aqs=chrome.4.0j69i57j0l4.4429j0j8 There's been some pretty high profile cases of phone batteries exploding in peoples pockets (particularly Samsung ones for some reason). Joking aside (and please don't mistake some light-hearted ribbing for piss taking) the actual risk associated with charging LiPo batteries comes (primarily) from one of two sources - cheap chargers that aren't properly regulated and damaged batteries. In fact you have a higher risk of ignition by not storing your batteries correctly (you should really keep them in a stiff sided box or fire proof bag to prevent accidental puncture and contain the burn in the event of damage). Using a decent charger (Imax B6, Turnigy etc) will help to reduce the risk associated with charging and making sure you correctly manage the cycling of the batteries (don't deep discharge them, don't over charge them etc) will also help. At the end of the day though you must do what you feel safest with and if that involves kitchen implements then so be it.
  12. There's a huge difference between being irresponsible and being over cautious though. Lipo batteries don't spontaneously combust for shits and giggles. Do you charge your phone in a frying pan? Didn't think so...
  13. They're quite funky if you want a tracer that also counts your rounds and works as a chrono. Personally I just want a tracer to be a tracer and I don't see the point of paying the extra for the other functions but that's just me.
  14. There is a certain M4 for sale here that has been widely discussed both in the thread and by PM to the seller who still resolutely refuses to take "that's a ridiculous price" for an answer. The discussion in the thread IS in my mind a bit....unprofessional, shall we say but there ARE people that will pay that out of ignorance. Now, granted as "nice" people some of us take it upon ourselves to try and stop someone being ripped off but as I've said elsewhere something is worth whatever someone else will pay for it. If that's double its actual monetary value then so be it and I'm afraid that some people just can't be told. Life's funny like that. Buyers need to do their research just as much as sellers do. If someone is selling two shit guns welded together it's never going to be worth double the price of any one gun...

  16. My wife doesn't mind the airsofting as such but she does roll her eyes a bit when yet another delivery turns up. As long as I take her out once in a while she's fine with me doing whatever. The impending purchase of a house that'll almost double my mortgage payments may well see UK Tactical's profits drop though....
  17. I have two. A Dytac QD one that fits my SCAR and an ASG B&T one I use on my MP5. I also have tracer mags (UV LED inside the magazine makes the BBs glow before they get into the gun) for my AK and my M4. As stated above they're really only any use in low light. If you use them in the daytime you're wasting money on batteries and higher cost ammo (although to be fair it's not a LOT more cost on ammo). Tracer mags aren't as bright as silencer type tracers but they're still bright enough in low light/darkness. Some tracers are brighter than others, some handle high rates of fire better than others. The cheap chinese ones are almost universally crap though.
  18. There is a mod you can do that is used by AUG owners involving a pin fitted behind the trigger to restrict travel that effectively makes it semi only. Google should find it for you otherwise I'll ask my buddy how he did his AUG.,
  19. Did you see the warning on them?"WARNING! PRODUCT IS NOT INTENDED FOR USE DURING tactical games / WAR / ASG. " So yeah...don't buy them.
  20. *Pedantic. If you want to be a pedant, at least spell it correctly.
  21. I do agree. To be honest I'm pretty surprised it didn't get shut by mods ages ago...
  22. Yes. I had a jolly good fondle of one at the airsoft expo. Very nice build quality for sure. Solid.
