  1. I used to wear a baseball cap but recently switched to an FMA FAST PJ style helmet. Playing a lot of CQB I was getting pissed off with welts on my forehead so it's been a good investment from that point of view. Having seen both in the flesh I would suggest an FMA one over an Emerson though. Plus all the helmet accessories (mounts, clips rails etc) are much better finished from FMA than Emerson too.
  2. The town set for Defiance.
  3. What do you mean by not "man enough"? Was the battery properly charged? What 7.4 have you used? If it doesn't sound "man enough" you may need a higher C rating on the battery rather than a higher voltage battery. Personally I wouldn't advise going to 11.1v LiPo without fitting a mosfet first.
  4. As far as what scope "looks right" on the M14 - it's been in active service for so long pretty much every scope known to man will have been mounted at some point or other! You want an ACOG, you fit an ACOG!
  5. Oh bless.... It's just a dark coloured variant designed for LEO use. Bit like ATACS-LE.
  6. Come on mate, you've not been away that long have you? It's a dark version of multicam.
  7. A man who has made no mistakes has done nothing in his life.
  8. Of course...by the time you've done all that you could have just changed the spring....
  9. How about the G&G ones - http://www.proairsoftsupplies.co.uk/acatalog/450_high_cap_hi_cap_mag_m16_m4.html or if you can split a box with a mate this is a good deal: http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/airsoft-magazines-c3/high-capacity-c51/dytac-300rds-bravo-magazine-for-m4-aeg-black-box-of-5-p4154
  10. Why would you need two? Just how many rounds do you think you're going to get through?
  11. If you want a soft textile style one then get a Blackhawk! Omega. If you want a hard "tactical style" one either a Serpa or a Safariland. The best piece of advice I would give about drop legs though is this - it's not supposed to hang around your knees. So many people complain they flap about or don't work properly but they just haven't adjusted them properly. Ideally it wants to be nearer your hip, high up on your thigh.
  12. Magnified sights are for snipers and posers. Red dot sights don't always turn themselves off when you put your gun away. Red dot sights will sometimes turn themselves off just before you REALLY need to aim at something. Some people have no sense of fun.
  13. I would spend a bit more personally. Maybe get the Lonex flash mags from the same site.
  14. Cool, cheers. Thinking of the Fobus light-bearing holster for the USP/P226 as I need a torch on mine. Like this one: http://www.tactical-kit.co.uk/fobus-lightlaser-bearing-holster-em17-ls-sig-p226--hk-usp-14542-p.asp
  15. To be fair it may just be the way your gearbox is set up. I'm pretty sure mine work in a "out/in/out" manner as opposed to the "in/out/in" yours is. I may of course be labouring under false understanding...I'll have a look tonight at mine.
  16. If you're firing on semi and it's not returning the nozzle forward reliably then you may have an issue. In auto it's not unusual for a non mosfetted gun to stop mid cycle but on semi it really should complete every time.
  17. I tried one for size and feel at the Airsoft Expo and it just felt right. I've been agonizing over a WE or a TM Sig P226 because they're both cheaper and then I found £70 left over from some cash I got for my birthday. Job done. Actually - what holster do you use for it?
  18. If you're trying to weaken the spring then that is how you want it. "Cocked" as in "ready to fire" is how you have the gun - the spring is compressed and the gun will fire within a few turns of the motor.
  19. RSOV fairly regularly mark stuff as "gift". Custome and Excise are a funny bunch though and have far further reaching powers than people realise when it comes to search and seizure and of course charging you money. As SD alluded to the postage and insurance costs are factored in when calculating duty. VAT is then charged on the whole value including duty so yes, you do in fact get taxed on the tax. Buy from the EU instead. No VAT that way
  20. TM HK45. Time for a new pistol.
  21. Same here. I have a couple of G&G ones which are fine but the Lonex one is fantastic.
  22. 5m? Try 2 feet! Get a lot of close in hand hits at the Mall due to the very CQB nature of the site. Nothing short of armoured gloves stops that hurting like a motherflipper!
  23. I have huge hands and I have Mechanix mpact gloves. Very comfortable, good fit especially on my thumb (big hands but fairly short fingers). I also have some helikon ones that are nice but not quite such a good fit. Something to bear in mind though - the protection on tactical style gloves is designed to help stop you skinning your knuckles on walls and such and don't actually provide much impact resistance against bb hits. If that's what you need I would suggest you look at armoured paintball gloves.
  24. The ideal number of guns is represented by the following equation: X=n+1 where n is the number of guns you have and x is the number of guns you want.
  25. None of those are genuine Deans connectors for a start, if they were they'd be a lot more expensive. Try component shop or a decent RC supplier. Fitting them is relatively easy as long as you have a decent soldering iron and a steady hand. Tinning as mentioned above is the process of flowing solder onto the parts to be joined prior to actually soldering them together. When it's done right it produces a far better join with less probability of getting a dry joint (where the solder doesn't flow properly and you get a mechanical joint with poor electrical conduction). I always tin the connector and the end of the wire before joining them but I learned how to solder in the aerospace industry... As SD mentioned, don't forget the heatshrink, don't cut both battery wires at the same time and the socket always goes on the battery.
