  1. I think Gunman North West do some good urban and CQB games in the Manchester area which might be on the edge of your range, but nothing ventured etc.
  2. It seems that Facebook in an attempt to ban the sales and trade of firearms on its media, has also banned the sale and trade of airsoft guns. There are many, many specialist groups on FB and many have been removed. Looks like the b&s pages of forums will come into their own once more.
  3. Any milsim site can put their events on there. Its not linked to any specific organiser and Ive contacted the ones I know and passed the word on the ones I dont.
  4. Yes Ive bought a lot of kit from Military 1st. Can't fault them.
  5. I use olive drab kit with my black rig, but it doesnt really matter. Thankfully there is no camo police.
  6. Personally if on the receiving end I would take it, unless it was dangerous e.g. blind/overhand throw. If it just fizzles, in my mind its a dud and the analogy in real life is a grenade that fails to explode. Run like hell. If I get a dangerous throw, Id have a word with the thrower and if I got abuse, have a word with a marshal.
  7. Chill mate. You take life too seriously. Its legible. One thing Ive learnt is I could spend hundreds of pounds getting it done professionally and somebody would still criticise it. Youre right about the appearance but Id rather put my energy into the games.
  8. Its funny, people are critical but strangely busy doing their hair when invited to do something better :-)
  9. I got a bit fed up of people trying to work out what milsim games are coming from the different UK organisers and a couple of established forums and FB pages telling me it's all too difficult. So I've started a Facebook group called Milsim UK to act as a repository for an event calendar and general milsim questions, gossip and news. The calendar lives on the Internet rather than FB and is nothing fancy but does its job. Its open for any milsim organiser to use, so hopefully the spread of games it contains will grow (after all its free advertising for them). The calendar lives here: https://www.brownbearsw.com/cal/uk_milsim_events
  10. you just move the dot using the adjustments on the side of the holo. Make sure your hop is sorted first and pick a windless day otherwise the gusts will screw up your zeroing. Also do the zeroing on a reasonable ranged target; make sure its on the horizontal before the bb starts to fall off and dont go for something too close or too far. Try to adopt a typical engagement range you use in your games.
  11. Customs shouldnt care about trade markings. They are only interested in the fact that its a toy and it has the UKARA number etc.
  12. G&G offer several ranges. Look at their Top Tech range for full metal, some of which are AEG but have pneumatic blowback. The cheaper range tend to be plastic but are very good quality.
  13. Welcome back. A few new operators in the milsim arena these days and probably more choice.
  14. If you have facebook, look up okto eight milsim kill club which is a milsim based community that play around the periphery of London.
  15. Everybody seems to be opening airsoft sites these days and with a lot of sites offering £10 or £15 a game, if I were an investor, I wouldnt be investing. The airsoft bubble is about to pop from a business point of view.
  16. Trying to follow a specific uniform or era is a bit like building the bars of your own prison. Relentlessly pursuing/perfection becomes a bit of an obsession and it can be both expensive and frustrating. Only you know what you can live with. In airsoft, I doubt if anybody will notice something like the wrong model of pistol. At the end of the day, its about what enriches your game and enjoyment.
  17. Gunman Tuddenham is a good site and runs every fortnight right through. Game there this weekend Saturday or Sunday.
  18. Don't know whether its lack of money after Christmas, or people are getting used to being back at work (those players who dont have to work over the holidays) or uncertainty about being able to buy airsoft guns in the UK in the future, but the activity on the forums and Facebook groups seems a bit quiet at the moment ?
  19. Thats just one of many variants in the G&G range. Try Airsoft Zone in Romford as they sell a lot of G&G and their tech John is good too if you have any issues. I needed some small bits for my G&G AK recently and G&G support in Taiwan are very responsive and helpful.
  20. Just go AEG MP5 or SMG. They dont have to be gas. You can get nearly all the models in an electric version with a mid cap mag.
  21. We have a counter terror milsim in March and loadouts are more SWAT/Police/Counter Terror than military MTP and this has yielded a resurgence in player interest with sub machine guns such as MP5, MP7, UMP, Scorpion, Uzi's etc. AEGs with mid or low caps can satisfy the mag change itch. Our game only allows 60 bb rounds to be used in a mag to simulate real steel changes.
  22. Ive responded to your MP5 question on the other thread, but welcome. There is an active airsoft scene in Essex. There is a good retailer in Romford and a number of good sites around. You can still break a leg or twist an ankle in airsoft but unless you go mad its less likely and its a good way of getting moderate exercise without gyms. I tend to play over the border at Tuddenham these days which is a 50 minute drive for me but thats another story.
  23. I have a G&G MP5 which are nice guns - they do a wide range and Ive got a Cyma "Kurz" MP5K which is more of a fun gun for the latest milsim series that I plan to do. Cyma are good and relatively inexpensive whilst G&G Top Tech are better engineered but a lot dearer. If you get a version with rails, you have the flexibility to add what you want, Battery space is limited unless you go for a full stock but a thin 1400mah lipo will last most or all of the day depending on trigger time.
