  1. Welcome to the forum. There are some good sites in Essex. I tend to play more in Hertfordshire or up the M11 into Suffolk these days as I live over in West Essex but Billericay is supposed to be good and AWA at Sawbridgeworth is quite a good day out if you just want to shoot. There are some good sites in Kent, but I cant be arsed with the M25 and Dartford Bridge/Tunnel as its a bit hit and miss at weekends, especially in summer.
  2. I love the Krytac concept and I keep eyeing them up, but unlike the SCAR they aren't actually representative of a real world rifle, just AR15 based. Its something that holds me back.

    Which Holster?

Ive just bought a Condor shoulder holster from Mil 1st and the retaining thumbstrap works like my Blackhawk dropleg holster. It uses velcro straps which can be adjusted to restrain the different sizes of pistol. You have to break the velcro friction to be able to slide the strap in its restrainer and adjust the length; whilst Blackhawk provide plastic lolly sticks to do this, the cheaper holsters wont, so be prepared to adapt something.
  4. it says: launcher grenade 40mm m203 ICS Taiwan I bought it from Fire Support in 2013
  5. I have the ICS one on my 416. They are simple devices.
  6. Have you looked at the ICS one ?
  7. Gunman arent doing any more skirmish games at Kings Langley this year. Look up Reforger who also use that site for skirmishing. A lot of the sites like AWA you need to book in advance.
  8. Are you talking about a telescopic sight for a sniper rifle or DMR or an optic such as a red dot with or without magnification ? If you could pin down what you want, people will be able to give you a better answer about makes etc.
  9. Im happiest with the Stingers; there is a gap if I wiggle the candle in but its a very small risk with a naturally flying BB. I'm prepared to take the risk with the Stingers, will think twice about the Sawflys and risk assess the situation/game but I wouldnt wear the Cross'.
  10. Thats fair comment. Obviously my observations are related to my experimentations which are with my face. Different face shapes may well get different results. My point is that there are gaps and its worth players spending the time to see if their choice of gigs are optimised for them. Ive also noticed that it makes a huge difference between whether you wear the retaining strap or not. Ive taken photos of the different profiles for comparison and posted them up on a parallel thread on the Milsim UK News and Events group on FB.
  11. Welcome to the forum. Im not a million miles away. We are blessed with some good sites.
  12. Ive got a pair of Bolle x1000 goggles but quite like the convenience and air circulation of ballistic shooting glasses. Normally use Revision Sawfly's, but was a bit surprised when a bb came from behind, got caught by the "wings" on the edge of the lens and ended up inside under my eye. No harm done but was a bit concerned at the vulnerability. Intrigued, I got a childrens birthday cake candle which is about the same diameter as a bb and by prodding around at the edge of the specs when on my face, tested the directional vulnerability of the Sawflys. Quite disturbing. Ive since tried ESS Ice, ESS Crosshair and have finally bought myself a pair of Revision Stingerhawks which I saw at the Security & Policing Show down at Farnborough earlier in the week. The Stingers are probably the least "gappy" of all of the ones that Ive tested. The Crosshair is probably the worst for airsoft.
  13. Depends on how often you pull the trigger and if your site offers charging facilities.
  14. You can use the claw type of mount that is used on an MP5. These machine pistols have a channel and the claw type clamps down on that when you tighten the screw. Some have a rail on top for a red dot and another rail to each side for a laser or torch. I use an Aimpoint T1 on mine.
  15. Theres a CQB site in east London but Im not aware of any outdoor sites. Most large outdoor sites are scattered around the M25 circuit. Not quote sure I understand your question about UKARA. If you wish to construct a UKARA defence to allow people to sell you RIFs, then you need to do your three games and be over 18, etc. Its got nothing to do with what you own.
  16. Might be worth looking on Milsim UK News and Events (MUNE) on Facebook which is a page covering events and has a milsim calendar.
  17. Might be worth sharing this on the Milsim UK News and Events group on FB as well
  18. I think it wont make the slightest bit of difference, Also, new blood can be good - stirs the pool. Those that use it to sell guns instead of FB will just post adverts I suspect. The inane stuff will still go on the larger FB groups. Personally, I filter all the adverts out on here as Im personally not interested in buying or trading RIFs, so you only have to see them if you want to. A lot of people are over-reacting to this FB restriction because they havent read properly. Its only affecting secondhand sales and trades and FB havent banned airsoft. Sometimes their bots get a bit overenthusiastic and ban somebody because it misunderstands the post. There are some very good groups on FB, not just airsoft related ones. Groups and forums are about people. FB is just a medium, a carrier, for peoples thoughts.
  19. You know, it really doesnt matter as long as you are having fun. I find a lot of people in airsoft worry what others think. How do I look, is my loadout okay ? etc The benefit of airsoft rather than being in the real military is that you can dress how you want and shoot what you want. If you want to dress like a tree Dads Army style, do it. Approaching sniperism with caution is a sound idea. The problem with airsoft sniper rifles is one of range, accuracy and the inability to predict where a bb will fall with the control that you can a real rifle. However, the fun is in the waiting/stalking I suspect. Just enjoy it, experiment progressively and do what comes intuitively.

  21. Enjoy the ride and dont rush into anything. I must admit I find little in the way of military tactics in skirmishing which is why I made the leap to airsoft milsims, but you will have to decide for yourself. Airsoft is an enabler and there are lots of different game styles out there to sample.
  22. Its a Facebook group called Milsim UK News and Events
  23. Licenced to pew - can feel a meme coming on.
  24. Asked on the milsim group on your behalf as I've never used it myself. Doesnt appear to have the best of reps but its budget kit I think and very subjective with such a small sample depending on peoples experiences. Have you looked at Warrior and British Tactical stuff ?
