  1. I've done it. As long as you have both halves of your face covered then it's fine. IMO single piece masks look stupid
  2. Nope. Only illegal if money, goods or services are exchanged for the RIF. Gifting is legal providing the person who purchased the RIF had a UKARA defense (not a license, there is NO licensing system for RIFs)
  3. You could just, you know....buy a half face mesh mask and a pair of ESS ICE goggles or something. Much cooler, shouldn't fog up and I'd personally trust ESS more than paintball mask lenses
  4. Or, for a little more versatility- an S-Thunder grenade pistol. Cost about £35 and can use any 40mm shell. Very very lightweight as they're polymer based
  5. For what they are, the TM aren't really worth it- DE and ASG tri shots do the same thing but for cheaper. You can get them for £35 from some places
  6. Got a couple of new bits installed on my M700- the Prommy barrel needs to be machined slightly for the hop rubber to fit, so I'll be using my neighbour's lathe for that. Shouldn't be hard at all.

  7. That's pretty damn ninja my only problem with ghillie suits is that you look pretty obvious when moving, there were a few guys in them at my last skirmish and they stuck out like a sore thumb on occasions
  8. Try to be as lightweight as possible. All you'll need are a couple of pouches on your belt for spare mags and a speed loader. I have to keep mini gas bottles in my rig, but it's worth it for the looks the M700 gets when it's fired
  9. Mine came too. Needed a little filing down to fit onto the upper rail (or any 20mm rail I had for that matter) but the rear sight fits like a dream. Anyone want a front sight? 30p and postage and it's yours
  10. It's nowhere near as much of that, Monkey. The uniform itself is so generic that no one really gives a crap whether members of the public wear it- all soldiers are issued a uniform as soon as they start basic. Paras have to do multiple jumps and undergo training for survival away from friendly forces before they can earn their beret, and it's the same level of toughness for the Marines. Uniforms are given to them, berets are earned by them.
  11. Tightbore: a Madbull 6.03mm will do the trick for an AEG, if you have a look around on fire support and other retailers' sites you should find one the right length Hop rubber/nub: definitely a good idea to replace, SRC G36s are pretty shocking in that area from what I've heard. Maple Leaf/Firefly/G&G Green should be good, I'm sure someone else will be able to supply more in depth info on what to use- it's all a matter of testing different rubbers/nubs for the best performance
  12. In Hants & IoW Battalion we only have a few crappy ones in stores, all our kit except uniform is still DPM. Most prepared cadets buy their own MTP crap hat and some commit to buying MTP webbing once they're fairly senior.
  13. I wouldn't get a laptop for it. Reason being you won't be able to install better components easily, so if you're dissatisfied with a laptop's graphics card you'll have to get a tech to take the entire thing apart to change 1 component. With a desktop you can literally open the casing up, take the card out and drop a new one in. Same with motherboards, GPUs, CPUs and all the other whatsamadoodas (I don't know a lot about internal components ). Laptops don't have a great cooling system either. With a desktop you have the option of installing a water cooling system, better fan ventilation etc.
  14. Or just stay kind of realistic- the only unit even remotely connected with the military who wear a beret out into the field (well, the only one I know about other than perhaps basic training) are Army Cadets who are too thick to buy a field hat/boonie. Even then the mongs among us (geddit?) who end up with the berets on have to take out the cap badge to eliminate any reflectiveness.
  15. Best torches you can get are O-Light and SureFire. There may be others but those are the most memorable. Surefire are @ £100+ and O-Light @ £50+
  16. Yeah, he's one of the mods.
  17. Looks like it has real potential- I think a pink 249 would be a real game changer too
  18. There's a lot of ex forces airsofters, and many of them are site owners or marshals- my local's owner is an ex Para, and I'm sure he wouldn't take a kind view of someone strutting around wearing the maroon lid and pretending to be part of the regiment. That sort of thing can give people the wrong impression. If I were you, OP, I'd use a navy blue/black beret. They aren't associated with regiments where you have to do tough training to earn the right to wear them.
  19. I strongly recommend PAS. Customer service is very good.
  20. What's with all the tape on it? Is the rifle cracked?
  21. Tan baseball cap Tan/black shemagh Tan T-shirt Bulle lightweight chest rig, tan Tan combats Desert boots I also stick a hydration pouch on. It's a great lightweight loadout for this heat, and it's a great impression loadout for PMC.
  22. KJW M700- clone of the more expensive Tanaka model, so there's quite a bit of parts commonality when upgrading. The striker can wear down over time (and we're talking very heavy use) and the G&G steel replacement/upgrade is too durable, as the stock striker plate on the magazine can be damaged and worn down by it, meaning you'd have to spend about £40 on a steel replacement. The Takedown model flexes slightly because of the join, and I have read about them having an inconsistent seal between both parts. Mags can leak sometimes, and usually around the fill valve. Best solutions are to either tighten the valve (this can wear the valve's head down if you use a sharp screwdriver) or buy new O rings. I bought a 419 piece set and the 2nd smallest size fits the long mag perfectly, the rubber's just a little thick for the short mag. Barrel- stock barrel is ok at best. I'm hitting man sized targets most of the time at 40-50m and I've hit targets further away than that at skirmishes. You have to watch your suppressor adaptor though, they can fall out veeeeery easily and wobble about if not fitted properly. I'm fitting a 6.02mm tightbore next week and I'll be experimenting with that. The hop unit is a pretty odd design- it's operated by twisting a ratcheted disk, which screws down a thread and puts pressure onto the wedge shaped nub. Mine needed a little TLC and sorting out to get the best performance, and I'll hopefully be making more with a 3D printer next year in various designs (PT247 I can offer you 1 or 2 if I manage to perfect one). Judgement: reliable if you maintain it and clean it periodically if you use green gas, the silicone in it wreaks havoc on the hop rubber and other seals.
