  1. Nah, he screwed the quoting system up when he quoted Teddy's post
  2. It's generally easier than buying a full set of mags from a different brand only to find out they don't fit/feed in your gun.
  3. Some websites specialise in a certain manufacturer or area of airsoft- www.firesupport.co.uk sell mainly guns and parts for them- the main brands of gun they sell are G&G and ICS www.proairsoftsupplies.co.uk sell guns and a moderate amount of equipment. Again, they mainly sell G&G guns but they have begun to sell more G&P guns. Very good customer service. www.zerooneairsoft.com are one of the largest UK retailers- they sell almost everything and will 2 tone your airsoft gun for free, and even throw in a skirmish voucher at no extra charge www.landwarriorairsoft.com sell a lot of G&G and G&P guns, however they have fairly good stocks of other brands So those were the main sites for guns. Here are some of the best (In my experience) sites for gear: www.flecktarn.co.uk very good gear at nice prices. They're the main dealer of BulleUK products- Bulle are based in the UK and make lots of gear, from assault vests to water bottles. They have extremely good customer service, some of the best I've used. http://www.military1st.co.uk are a very big gear retailer. They sell almost anything you would need for a skirmish- they also have good customer services and take pride in looking after the little details. A recent order of mine contained 1.5 inch glowsticks which they had packed in their own cardboard sleeve to prevent them breaking. http://www.tactical-kit.co.uk sell very high end military grade equipment. They're not ideal for a beginner who might not want to spend a lot of money, but when you decide you want to start airsofting properly and would like some tougher kit, give them a go- I've used them in the past and they've been great www.actionhobbies.co.uk- they sell guns, but they sell a lot more kit. Very good customer service and a wide range of Begadi products- Begadi are a mid-range German tactical equipment company who make pretty nice kit. Not the toughest but certainly good. I'm sure other forum members will direct you to more retailers, this is just a comprehensive list of retailers I've used and have not had an issue buying from. Hope this helps
  4. If you can get your hands on some G&G plastic 120 round midcaps, they're extremely good value and very durable. Here's an image, they're a funky style with inspiration from magazines made by a real firearms company called Magpul: They come in full Tan, black with tan baseplate and tan with black baseplate as well as the standard black.
  5. Damn! Was just writing up a Mini MAV review before I saw this!
  6. You'll need to measure it for us to know. I think you have to measure the distance between each peak of thread? Not sure. I know there are dedicated tools for it though
  7. A fake Manchester United or Chelsea shirt works as a good substitute too. If you want inspiration, watch Captain Phillips
  8. I have both a mosfet and a mechanical lock on my M27. The mosfet improves the trigger response drastically and they can be used to lock to semi, however the plug in ones that go between battery and motor can be bypassed easily. If your DMR had one of them and got checked by a marshal, you could easily remove it afterwards and plug the battery straight into the trigger contacts as there will still be a mini tamiya/deans connector the mosfet plugs into. This would give you a 400-425 fps gun firing in automatic, which is against most site rules and I believe it's against the law to have an automatic AEG over 350. Not 100% sure though.
  9. Mechanix FastFit gloves in coyote- £14.99 Helikon Waterproof Poncho, Multicam- £21.99 A set of 2x yellow and 2x red 1.5" lightsticks at £1.59 each. All from Military1st
  10. Love my one of these. It's done me well over multiple field exercises and range days.
  11. Didn't you get a manual with the gun that had an exploded diagram in it? Even my old CYMA MP5 had one in it!
  12. A pair of Element rail ladder sets in tan off fire support- £19.50.
  13. I'm aware your original post specified an MP5K- and I still stand by my point. It's extra weight that would not be necessary for a pistol only loadout, and to top it the weapon is made of poor plastic that may not handle knocks and bangs of CQB. I've seen people accidentally drop weapons down stairwells in CQB, and the Well MP5K probably wouldn't handle that sort of treatment. As well as this, if you put the weapon on a 1 point sling and kept it by your side as you moved with pistols in both hands, it would flop around a fair bit- I'm sure there are holsters out there for it, but then it's even more unnecessary expenditure on a backup which will just slow you down in CQB. If you do come against something heavy in a skirmish, you probably wouldn't be aware of it's existence in CQB until too late- and in woodland you could leave a support gunner or hi cap spraying skirmisher to your better-armed team mates. And even then, you could still potentially 'kill' the support gunner through quick movement or moving to a position where they cannot engage you effectively. I still think it's pointless taking a 3rd weapon into battle on your person while playing in a role which requires lightness and quick movement. Sure, the Well won't weigh a lot, but combine it with the weight of your rig, the 2 pistols, all their mags, speed loaders, gas, holsters etc- it adds on unnecessary weight.
  14. As Sam_G is owner of Iron Sight (I believe) perhaps we could organise something with him?
  15. Yeah, that's why I think splitting it into an event for each half of the UK is a viable option, so we don't have to spend ages finding a venue that's right for all of the regular members
  16. Would anyone be interested in this? We'd have to find a centrally located venue for it so everyone won't find it too difficult to get to- I know we have a large Northern contingent. Perhaps we'd have to split it up into Southern and Northern meet ups?
  17. What's the point in going pistol only if you're going to lug around an SMG as well? Surely that defeats the advantages of going pistol only in the first place? Plus any Well weapons are piles of shite, I've seen many many of them break at skirmishes. The CYMA MP5s are much better (I had one myself) but the gearbox screech is extremely loud as they tend to need some AOE correction and internal TLC. If this isn't done then you'll just give yourself away with a weapon which is much louder than better quality AEGs. I'd suggest OP gets a KWA Mac11 with the NS2 system if he wants a full auto backup. It's one of the better KWA models (notably better than their pistols from what I've heard) and brings lots of firepower to the table- however again we reach the point above- why go pistol only for a 'light' loadout when you'll be carrying a Mac 11 around, with it's mags?
  18. KWA only have good press because they're popular in the USA, as their FPS limits are much less stringent than here.
  19. My first ever was a shitty Double Eagle G36 AEG, about 4 years ago. i thought it was the bee's knees at the time, but I came to see the light when I bought a CYMA MP5 the year after. Since then it's been plain sailing.
  20. Especially those damn crisp packet trousers- swish swish swish as you're trying to move quietly
  21. Anyone know where I can get my hands on some Lancer 190 round Midcaps?

Thanks Russe :) will have to wait until I'm not so skint. For the moment my G&G 120 rnd mids will do, but they need a little coaxing to fit in the weapon.

  22. Yeah, I usually play in a short sleeved t-shirt all year round with the addition of a 'tactical' fleece in cold weather for the safe zone- it's far too warm to move about in, and I always get a massive sweat patch in the shape of my rig if I do so
  23. 7.4v 1300MaH 25C Cranestock LiPo. My current one won't fit in my M27 so I'm having to make do with an old NIMH for testing.
  24. M27 came. I am in love
