  1. They don't really work that much, but it's simply through the way the air moves over it as it leaves the barrel. Madbull are the only people that make them if I recall correctly - Element do one that looks the same and weighs a ton, but I don't think it's intended as an amplifier.
  2. Pull the pin then sit on it. Report back with findings.
  3. I've seen a few custom made CF cocking handles/levers on sniper rifles but that's about it. Higher-grade aluminium seems to do the job of lightweight and strong in airsoft quite well. I'd think there's a small market for some very specific parts. I know there are a couple of things I'd like lightening on my GBBRs, but whether or not it's economical I don't know.
  4. This is a really old thread Berto, but I think we gave him the wrong advice anyway as it sounds like a TM Glock. Plastic slide? Likely TM. KWA glocks have the engravings highlighted in white - is this the case with yours?
  5. I couldn't agree more. It's a job that needs to be taken seriously, but some take it a little too seriously and that's when things get really bad. I'd rather have stand off-ish marshals than ones that try to pick up on every detail and constantly micromanage the games.
  6. 'Mystery boxes' as a concept are never worth it. It's just simple end of line stock clearance the majority of the time. Save your money and buy what you really want.
  7. Like Monty says: No need to worry - just tell them it's a toy and they'll be on their way. The worst that can happen is they get a firearms officer to confirm it's a toy.
  8. I own some HPA stuff now, but I must say the level of dickishness amongst HPA owners seems to be notably higher than your average player. I realise a lot of them tend to be the older players who've been playing for years and this may be why they notice the bad stuff more easily, but they do complain a lot on sites about people not taking their hits I feel. Also, 35rps+ is always going to make one a target for criticism. One needs to be aware that they're going to be scrutinised a lot more when playing and just be extra sure not to be a knob. HPA is brilliant, but some of the people who use it aren't so much.
  9. Oh wow. I literally spend a few hours looking a couple of months back - messaging retailers and the works. Good find - I'm buying some today. Must be recent because I've just seen them on Patrol Base too, and I certainly checked there when I checked everywhere else: http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/airsoft/we-europe-nuprol-0-30g-diamond-tracer-6mm-bb-x-3000-light-green.htm#.Vb70EPWD7-U http://www.airsoftshop.be/en/search/green+devil/ is where I got my Green Devils from. Shipping is a flat rate of £10. I bought quite a lot at once back then.
  10. Green Devils are good. I last bought some non-tracer years ago but I'll try to dig up the site. You can't get them (any tracer above .25 that is) - I've looked everywhere. I even asked some manufacturers and either they didn't reply or said they had no plans to make any. There's a company on Alibaba that will sell them to you by the ton, but they wouldn't let me buy 'a sample'.
  11. Wouldn't even bother - just look through the pages. Most people who claim their anything is a DMR have just slapped a £30 scope on a stock AEG and massively overvalue them. Internal wise, you probably are looking for a high torque motor to be one of the key components, so you could search for that.
  12. They have CNC slide ones and ones that aren't, then there's the first run that was terrible and - as you say - different trades depending on where you are geographically; their consistency ended up a real mess, but some of the good ones are damn near perfect like you say. Especially where the front of the slide meets the frame - really well done job. Took me a bunch of shimming to get it right on my TM. Unfortunately it seems that in the UK most of them are the ones with the terrible Stark trades and the slides don't look like they fit all that well.
  13. They don't work amazingly well - I've owned one. I bought a huge pack of hand warmers and just put one of those in for the morning and one in the afternoon - they last about 4-5 hours each. The reusable ones only last about 2 hours and are naff.
  14. Return it to onlybbguns.co.uk for a refund. It's not worth voiding any warranty for the sake of a quick fix. How long exactly have you had it? You will still be covered under PayPal buyer protection if you paid with that.
  15. Hm. Did you get the extended patches by any chance, or just the black standard ones? Also, what nub are you using? The HSA one?
  16. It's possible, but do be sure as you should be able to get a flat trajectory out of a .25 if it's turns on a very, very small amount. Looks like it might be .28s or .30s from here on in though, eh!
  17. Mechanix. Love the vent ones because they're just thick enough to stop BBs hurting too much, but thin enough that they're not in the way. The range is brilliant though, and the originals are - as Raggedy says - tough as old boots. Not sure if Mechanix do talking gloves yet, however. The M-Pact ones are bulky. If you have problems with getting hit in the hands all the time (and it really hurting) then they're a good option, but otherwise I'd get something slightly more slimline.
  18. With .25s you can get a flat trajectory from R-Hopping - it's possible you've installed the patch too low and it's making too much contact. R-Hopping is all about minor adjustment until it's just right so this is to be expected. If you have the easy install kit from HSA then take the barrel out, press it against the patch and see how much it protrudes into the barrel - that's how much hop you're getting with it completely turned off. You should be able to drop a BB down the barrel or by gently blowing on it - the patch should generally not protrude into the barrel at all on a standard bore width - so between 6.01 and 6.08 (wide bores are a slightly different story). If neither of these things gets the BB past the patch then it's seated too low. If you don't have the install kit then simply try using something flat (bit of wood or a hardback book) and press it against the patch to see how much it goes down into the barrel. Obviously don't push it too far in like the nub in your hop would - you're just trying to see what the patch looks like in the hop 'off' state. Basically there are two solutions, and because of window sizes I can't be sure for yours, but the HSA patches sometimes don't have enough material and you need to build up the edges of your hop window with RTV before placing the patch on so that it sits higher. The other solution is to simply sand that thing down (as I'm sure you have already) once it's installed in the window so that your bucking alone does not push it further into the barrel in the 'off' position. That said though, R-hops work best with .28s, .30s and above - that's when you get your 50m+ ranges, so it may be worth investing if possible. I feel your pain though - I'm looking at £13 per 3000 for my 249 and that thing is going to be shooting close to 30rps when broken in. As far as FPS loss goes: Remember remember, FPS =/= energy. By-and-large (and Joule creep aside) your power is going to remain the same regardless of the weight of BB, and this is what sites really try to measure at the crono when they get everyone using the same weight. If you're using heavier BBs then you must still be around 1.05 - 1.15J if it's an AEG (335 - 350fps with a .20 respectively) as this is generally the site standard in the UK. With a .30, that's going to be roughly between 270 - 300fps. Obviously this means the BB takes longer to get there, but it'll actually get there and not drop off early. Edit: Added a bit more detail and added to FPS bit too. This may be of interest to anyone not following:
  19. If you're going to those sorts of sites, I'd recommend just going directly to the manufacturers via AliExpress or DHGate - you'll get slightly better prices and solid buyer protection.
  20. Hey, welcome to the forums.
  21. Trishots are brilliant (any brand will do), as are TM 1911s and PX4s.
  22. I believe he means AEGs and stuff - was merely a jest. I've seen a few people using AEPs. Tried one yonks ago for about 30 minutes but it's not the same; trigger response and that kick counts for quite a lot with a GBB and it has neither. I dunno.
  23. I realise it's more a paintball shop than airsoft, but they do obviously have a lot of HPA stuff so I thought it was worth leaving the feedback for. Anyhoo, transaction was smooth and dispatch time was great; ordered an item at 2:30pm on Friday and it arrived today (Saturday) with standard delivery. Very happy with them.
