Are Cyma AKs still the best / a good shout for a budget AK?

Hi All, Bought this secondhand from this listing ( as new about 2 years ago. I've dry fired it about 20 times in that time, dressed it up as a l119a1 and swept the house with it thinking I was some sort of leet ninja. Never skirmished. Thinking it might finally be time to let this go (Despite just buying the case and fitting it all out at Christmas!) as I haven't played in years. For appraisal is: 1 x Aforementioned TM MWS M4a1 7 x Magazines. 1 is the original. The other 6 have come straight out of the packaging and into the carry case, haven't even been filled with gas. 1 x USGI Silent sling 1 x Grey Nuprol Carry Case. Many thanks, Teddy

I'm well out of the loop these days but I have the G&P M4 RAS 6 position which hasn't skipped a beat for me in 10 years: https://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/gp-m4-ras-6-position-airsoft-gun-aeg I think you could in theory just stick a CAR-15 style stock on the existing stock tube as a 'bodge' (On my TM MWS when doing this, the stock tube extended out the back of the stock slightly when fully collapsed). If you wanted to you could try and get your hands on the G&P stock tube and stock: https://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/gp-m4a1-5-position-sliding-buttstock-black which is annoying 5 position (M4a1's are supposed to be 4 position I believe, whereas modern M4's are 6 position). There is a G&P M4a1 version with the correct stock but no RAS ( https://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/gp-m4a1-4-position-tube-aeg-airsoft-rifle ) so you would have to source a RAS kit for it. All of these links are out of stock so it just depends what you can get your hands on / works out cheapest. Firesupport might be able to special order them in, and Zerone might be able to too. I know zeroone sometime gets a bad rap but there special ordered in my G&P for me and everything went well. Anyone ever tried one of those US Freight forwarders that give you a US shipping address to get orders forwarded to the UK from? I order a lot stuff from the States and the extortionate shipping is starting to take a toll. I was wondering if there's any saving on shipping costs?

Been following @Venture_Surplus on IG for a while now and took inspiration from his Eagle Industries Warbelt posts. I’ve only ever seen them set up as shooters belts / battle belts with minimal pouches before. I’ve gone for something a Lay-out which would be more familiar to PLCE / The custom sets from Dragon supplies etc. From left to right: EI Frag Pouch ( might replace this one with a smoke pouch in future) Quad magazine pouch with USMC dump pouch attached to the bottom row of molle on the back of the pouch. Rolls up neatly underneath it and seems like it will work. a blank molle row to receive a replica OKC-3S bayonet which is en route. 1QT canteen pouch MBITR pouch M60 pouch for us as a general utility pouch. 1QT canteen pouch two double magazine pouches EI Frag pouch.

I've not yet ventured into the world of wargaming but have been interested and on the fringe for a while. Been looking into Ultra modern's and 3d printing as it's what I'd have the most interest in giving the whole Airsoft/Milsim interest. I think it's designed for anything from WW2 upto modern day but imagine it could be adjusted for sci-fi.

So I had this idea the other day and throught it might be an interesting thread: What is your absolute best (airsoft) purchase you've ever made? / What is the absolute worst (airsoft) purchase you've ever made? It can be anything from a RIF, a certain brand of BB, Pyro, parts, gear, etc... You get the picture. I think the best purchase I've made would be my TM MWS. Yet to skirmish it so that opinion may change but just customising it and handling it around the house has been a lot of fun. My worst purchase has probably been one of those Thunder B grenades many many years ago. First time taking it out at TWA Woodland in Croydon, I passed it forward to someone else to throw and that it was lost to the bushes. It didn't take out the other players and I didn't even get the privilege of losing it myself ?

Not to disagree with the above, because H&K make them so they'll know best and also I'm not very knowledgable on the subject but there does seem to be a lot of references to 12" HK417s on the internet if you google "HK 417 12 Inch barrel". Maybe a misreporting somewhere and people (including perhaps the end users) are incorrectly referring to the 13 inch variant as a 12 inch one?

I've seen he's done some rails and also has been mating G&P A1/A2 Uppers with TM MWS uppers to make fixed carry handle uppers for the MWS. I think it's a tricky one. Ideally, once shot you'd drop it at your feet and then the ensuing 'friendly fire' would be observed. Realistically, I can't see that happening. Having had Pyro go off right at my feet before it wasn't pleasant. I think the best solution would be to lob it in a safe direction away from friendlies and the opposite team - but that requires A) a safe direction with no players present and B) the presence of mind to do so quickly whilst you're probably still sucking your teeth at being hit in the knuckles or something
