jcheeseright got a reaction from Monty in help reassembling loading nozzle
I like this, you took apart your gun, didn't pay any attention to how it went together as you did so and in the process kinda broke it... now because we're not willing/able to help it's suddenly someone else's fault!

it'll help you find out where the resistance is in the circuit, should tell you where/what the problem is!

jcheeseright got a reaction from Airsoft_Mr B in Dream Project you've always wanted to finish/do but never done/started?
There's a reason every military rifle in the world has a stock; aiming is better when you're using one.
Folding stocks are more for transporting guns or using them in vehicles, it's a complete fallacy that a folding stock is good for CQB.

jcheeseright got a reaction from Happy in Velcro nameplates
problem with having your nametape on your shirt is that as soon as you put a chest rig or plate carrier on the tape is obscured, makes more sense to have it velcro backed so you can just stick it on to whatever load carrying equipment you're wearing, or the back of a helmet, or a sleeve pocket... you get the idea!
Lots of people have various different kit for playing in different places or at different times of year, with the name tapes and patches velcro backed you can move them between kit easily, sewing them on to everything would take hours and cost a fortune in name tapes!

jcheeseright got a reaction from Monty in .22 Pistol NRA/BASC supported PETITION!
signed, but nothing will change. Even if a million people sign that petition there's still 59 million who haven't.
The red tops and other sensationalist newspapers would tear the government to bits if they re legalised any kind of pistol (other than muzzle loaders, which are still legal!). I can see the headlines now:
"Britain braced for more Dunblane style massacres"
"GUN TERROR AS PISTOLS FLOOD STREETS"
"Space Pakis steal corpse of Lady Diana using newly legalised pistols" (Daily Mail)
As much as I'd love for .22 pistols to be decriminalised the anti-gun lobby have more numbers (just take a look at mums net... they'd ban nerf guns if they could!) and more of a sensational argument.

looks like the umarex one, the TM has different texture on the grip and the trades aren't filled in white.

jcheeseright got a reaction from adam bussey in Import duties and tax for parts
maybe, who knows?! I've had stuff marked as toys and with the gift box ticked get charged and I've had stuff marked up correctly get through without so much as a look from customs.
anything from the far east is a gamble with customs.
The end result though is that you should EXPECT to pay 20% VAT and a £13 handling charge from parcel farce, VAT is inclusive of shipping, so it'll be on the full £52. But, it'll be worked out based on the exchange rate on the day that it's received by customs, so it could end up being more than the £52 you're expecting.

Power spray is really quick, take the parts you want to strip, put them in a big Tupperware box or plastic bag, spray them liberally with powerspray, seal it up and wait 30-40 minutes then scrub like a mofo with a stuff brush.
You'll probably want a pin or something to get the last bits out of the smallest gaps that the pin can't get.

Yeah, complete and utter tosh, anything less than 51% solid bright colour as laid down in the VCRA is a RIF, patterns are a no-no and subdued colours don't meet the requirements.
That said, there's no law against you painting your gun as I assume you can prove you're a legit airsofter. The 18 year old rule applies only to SALE of RIFs, not manufacture.

Hell no, CQB is all about full face... my smile isn't all that but it'd look a shitload worse with gaps!

jcheeseright got a reaction from NH Shooter in New airsofter... What am I missing? What coes first?
the flip down lenses on those Emerson FAST helmets are borderline dangerous, I wouldn't use one if you paid me to do it:
A guy from Arnies Airsoft forums did a test on them, the full write up is here: http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?%2Ftopic%2F159597-helmet-pictures%2Fpage-82
My 2p on it is that if you're wearing that as protection you'd be better off with a couple of layers of cling film, at least it won't shatter when the BB comes through it. If your eyepro is ANSI z87.1 rated then it'll withstand birdshot from a shotgun, airsoft won't even leave a mark on the lenses.
