jesus, £457 for the whole setup is pretty incredible!
-
so £457 + bottle and remote line, not bad, I'll bear it in mind. Will have to wait til after christmas though
-
out of interest (mainly because I want to build a DMR using an HPA system at some point), how much was the whole setup minus the donor gun?
-
sounds awesome, wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of a full auto burst though, ouch!
-
chuck it in the airing cupboard for a couple of days and try again, no need to open it up for a bit of moisture.
-
clean the barrel once when you first buy it, carefully. After that unless you drop it in a puddle or somehow get mud inside the barrel leave it alone and it'll work for years without issue. Start pulling it to bits to 'grease the gears' etc and you'll have problems.

Last time we did a night game at adrenaline we went single only, makes more sense really in the dark since overkill is really difficult to avoid when you can't clearly see who you're shooting at. Arm bands work fine at night, most people are gonna shine a torch at their target to ID before they fire anyway, glowsticks remove all potential for stealth. As for game types, not sure I can help really, last time we went we did variations on the standard day games, just with lower numbers and less light.

Any experience with these goggles?
jcheeseright replied to ronin677's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I had a pair of that exact kind, fogged up in the safe zone before we started playing! I'm not a particularly sweaty person either. -
War or Military novel recommendations?
jcheeseright replied to Mr Monkey Nuts's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
my recommendations are all from Royal Navy pilots in relatively recent years: Joint force harrier - Afghanistan, Naval Strike Wing Scram! - Falklands, commando helicopter force Armed action - Iraq, 847NAS -
Six of one half a dozen of the other I think, G&G make excellent gearboxes by and large, TM set themselves apart with the quality of their hop-up units and inner barrels. Their standard V2 non-blowback/recoil boxes aren't really anything to write home about, they're certainly better than JG/Cyma/dboys/other chinese dodgy brand but that's only due to excellent QC.
-
fair enough, if you got a good deal on it then it's a damn sight better an idea than pulling your perfectly functioning G&G box apart and breaking it while learning!
-
like Ian said, the fire hawk gearbox sounds AWFUL, that high pitched noise it's making isn't the motor. it's the gears screaming at you that they're too tight. Shim and grease it properly and I'm sure it'll not only sound nicer, but perform better too.
-
why would you want to replace the G&G gearbox with a TM one? you're not going to get any performance increase.

The law does not differentiate between private and retail sales - selling a realistic imitation firearm is illegal. The law offers a defence against prosecution for the sale of a RIF providing that the seller can prove it was sold to someone for the purposes of airsoft skirmishing. UKARA registration is pretty much air-tight when it comes to proving this, so it's the preferred method for many players and retailers.

IR BBs are a no-go unfortunately, a few of us have looked extensively and no one makes them. Understandable as it'd be a pretty niche market. I've found that a decent IR illuminator backlights the BBs enough that they can be seen in flight for a bit through NVG. Much like shining a bright torch helps see where white BBs are going during the evening. Proper tracers show up really well obviously, and the 'flash' from the tracer unit if you're facing it looks cool as fuck, but the problem with tracers is that they work both ways!
-
wouldn't worry about the green backsplash from NVGs, even without rubber seals it's very difficult for people to see from any kind of distance.
-
holy fuck, that's awesome.

Dependent upon your budget, Blue Force Gear and First Spear make absolutely brilliant pouches, they're pricey but worth it.

The best youtube channels for airsoft?
jcheeseright replied to Hank285's topic in General Discussion
depends what you want to watch really! reviews, gameplay, gear, etc etc... everyone's good at something different. Gameplay wise here are some of my favourites: HHK - http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCz6loyA-B2veNnL6XIvcTRQ Diablo - http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgjuU6h2oWjPKOvY6lKtCpg TF Green - http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCn0en2XZa7Zt9M7-gYFoUZQ Bristol Recon - http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3U13DC9RT7vsBONs0vR92w Oh, and I couldn't post in one of these without plugging my own team: Cobalt - http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDiH4iM96xA_AxOKSXhcJuA -
I honestly have no idea why anyone would ever have 8mm bearings in a gun, a decent set of bushings are so much more durable and there's really no gain in performance using bearings (especially once they start to wear!) my vote always goes to bushings.

yeah, feedback I've had is that as a head mounted unit it's more or less unusable. if you don't mind shelling out a bit extra there's a fella on UKAZ shifting a pulsar gen1 set for a reasonable price: http://www.ukairsoftzone.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/15646-night-vision-monocular/ though as I said earlier, quite often gen1 is only just better than the naked eye, especially if you want to be entirely passive and not use IR illumination.
-
Compared to BB bastards Green Devils are actually pretty reasonable price wise. As for the cost of shipping... they're heavy and most people buy in serious bulk anyway.
-
Ironfoot.co.uk are the UK distributors, the site looks a little bit 'cottage industry' but they're one of the founding members of UKARA, as well as sitting on the board!
-
Having played with gen1 I can honestly say that you're better off with your eyes 99% of the time. That pvs14-alike on aliexpress is actually a small tv camera hooked up to some fairly shonky plastic lenses and a large array of IR LEDs, a guy on UKAZ had one and he claimed the field of view was about 10 degrees and it was about 1.5x magnified. A proper set of gen1 (with an actual intensifier tube) will set you back a few hundred quid, but you're genuinely better off with your eyes and a half decent torch. For a gen2 monocular you're looking at £1,000+ and while they're usable, you can pick up a second hand gen3 monocular for £1,500 ish. From bitter experience i can say that with night vision kit it's very much a case of buy nice or buy twice.

Green devil bios are genuinely the best thing going, better than bastards.
