  1. The PTS would be the bare minimum for mounting thousands worth of night vision. Definitely consider a real shroud to go on the front of it. Sadly this is one area of kit where mil surplus is a no go. The only place I've seen bring in ops-core non ballistic models (the best option I think for such use) is Endeavour Tactical, but they're out of stock, probably be a while before they get more. I don't know of anywhere else outside the US one can get hold of OC, Team Wendy or MTEK and ship to the UK but if you try to checkout at enough sites you might strike lucky.
  2. Personally mag cross-compatibility is a big thing, means if I get another RIF I don't have to take up more storage space (which is currently tight) with another 3-6 magazines to be able to actually take the thing out. I've picked up a few TM/TM compatible Glock mags recently for both actual Glock pistols and my Aegis FMG; hence I've been weighing options on some type of SMG/PCC to use the mags in since there's a few around now that I've noticed. Aside from the FMG the main one I've seen floating around is this which seems to be VFC in origin? https://www.wgcshop.com/products/mmtw-ix-bk Then there's a couple of B&T SMGs around that I've not really delved in to, anyone seen any others that are worth looking at per chance?
  3. Dear TM,

    M9A4 Please and thank you.

      Yes! ALL THE M9's!

Mind you, that grip looks a bit...odd.

  4. Back when I was in, you had to take your boots off before you even put them on in the morning. @Tackle just doing a 4-yorkshiremen bit, please excuse my low grade sarcasm.
  5. I've had a couple for about as long as I've been playing, no sign of them giving up. And yeah plenty of other people out there who'll say/have said the same.
  6. Do influencers use the word correctly when they employ it to imply something which actually just misleads people?
  7. I've barely ever heard anyone in a video pronounce Salomon correctly. The one that really gets me (and this has been going on for at least 10 years) is the blatant global lie that is the use of the word polymer to somehow mean something different to plastic. 'Oh this is polymer, not just plastic'... get fucked.
  8. Airsoft UK facebook group is starting a website with a forum because Zuck is gonna shut down the group but on their own site they can't get shut down and people can sell RIFs.. 😂

I'd like to say this will finally make some people realise the obvious and that a forum like this has always been better than FB groups, but I'd imagine a lot of peeps literally don't even know forums are a thing that exists at this point.

Does this mean we'll be getting an influx of semi-literate mouth breathers that get the AFUK part confused?

I'm sure we can signpost them.to zeroin where they'll fit naturally anyway.

  9. After stagging on all of christmas I've got this week off, which is probably just about the worst one of the year for games but I had to make sure I got one in at least. Took my life in my hands and drove through the biblical floods (some puddles) down to Zed Adventures last night. I think it's probably fair to say there aren't a ton of indoor/urban regular sites in what I'd call 'central south'; not a huge number of sites in general really considering population. You've got loads of sites in Essex/Kent, a blob around Portsmouth, couple of CQB places in Gloucester then the map is a little sparse if you draw a circle around Oxford. With me generally living life around/between NW London, Oxfordshire and Shropshire; Zed was the least-worst place to get to during the evening this week. I'm really not sure if it was worth the trip in the end though 😂 There's a cheap multi-storey (cost me £2 to park) that's well lit and you come out maybe ~15m from the site entrance.. and that's about all that's really positive I could say. In theory you're totally under cover, but the old shop has so many leaks now I got mud on my trousers.. 🤨 (doesn't matter, just funny). The crowd that showed up were all really nice, chill players, but obviously that's a positive reflection on them as people not the site staff. Said staff weren't bad people per se either, but I felt like I was just tagging along at a private speedsoft game night for the marshals, all of which were playing pretty much all of the time. Not a feeling I've ever had at a game before. Also the shortest game briefs I've ever had playing airsoft, by a large margin, one of them took maybe 30 seconds and the guy in his SpeedQB get up delivering it didn't exactly show much enthusiasm. When I say speedsoft players I'm talking HPA guns that were so far removed from any actual firearm I couldn't tell what they were in most cases; looked like Milwaukee power drills. I've been to Zed before something like 3-ish years ago, I think Negative Luke was running it at the time after the Mall and I liked it, had always been meaning to go back. I don't expect an airsoft site to be gleaming by any stretch but none of the SZ tables had had so much as the briefest brush off, the SZ detritus was all just pushed in a corner as apparently a dustpan was a step too far and despite being inside and rarely used the toilets were in a pretty damn wrecked/filthy state. Oh and not only was there a christmas tree up and other decorations, but fake spiders and webs stiff clinging to things from Halloween. They had rigged up sheets and water collectors for the points where the roof was badly leaking, they've also some rigged up the shops' speaker system to an aux lead and put in some funky lights which was cool, but the amount of straight trash in various places definitely counteracted that. I just wanted to play a game somewhere to iron out those niggles in equipment that never raise their head until you're actually in play, but at £27 for an evening game it's very much not on the top of my priority list for the future.
  10. Must admit I feel like it's a long shot that there's anyone else on here who's either a relevant medical professional or has dealt with the exact same thing, which is what would be needed to give anything like the right advice in the context (but hey always worth a shot). Salomon are up and down with regards quality to say the least, I've heard decent reviews of the Terrex but you can never know for sure until you buy a set of shoes and spend significant time in them. All I could suggest is don't limit yourself to the tactical realm of products as that's very limited comparatively and is not at all necessary for this game. Find a specific pair that'll best help your situation first, at which point you can use (for example) brown polish on any colour of leather, or a light dusting of spray paint on any synthetic material, if really necessary.
  11. Pretty much, some type of sheet to catch little falling parts. Majority of sites I've been to have benches with the standard slotted top surface which are absolutely perfect for helping with losing small items/anything that rolls.
  12. I'd say primarily the mat in any given kit needs to be proportional to the depth of tasks that the tools will allow you to undertake; I sometimes feel like safe zones are almost deliberately designed for small parts to get as lost as is possible (they aren't, just feels like it). I can get on board with something like a multi-tool, tape, maybe allen key set because airsoft guns (especially the ubiquitous AR AEG) are mostly held together with metric allen headed screws and some manufacturers don't tighten stuff up very thoroughly. More than that though and, as said, you really want to be inside a nice, clean, smooth, clutter free room with no gosh darn holes of any kind in the floor. Some folks will have specific parts on their specific guns where they know they'll need X or Y on a regular basis for whatever reason, but I'd say a medium flat/cross head and 1-5mm allens cover most things on most airsoft replicas. Props to some of the folks in here if you've been doing piston changes on site though and saving the day, that's ballsy lol.
  13. Normal/common airsoft zamak 'pot metal' is an alloy with aluminium in so of course the waters remain muddy as ever in this game, I've seen way too many product descriptions say aluminium alloy when the gun is clearly mostly zinc, but the scales don't lie so it'll be easy to tell. The Guarder extended Glock mags are quoted at 210g but they're £85 from Fire-Support, whereas these mags are up for pre-orders right now and LWA is doing a 3 pack for £115. If they're actually made from a decent aluminium and are in the region of the weight of the Guarders then £38.30 per mag is a crazy bargain. Makes the entire notion of running a GBB SMG primary look totally different to just about anything else out there that I know of, purely based on the weight/price of the mags. I could honestly see other guns springing up to specifically use these mags even though there's already quite a few out there that take TM/VFC Glock mags.
  14. Are the mags pot metal and heavy or alu and light? I thought I read somewhere that they'd done nice fancy mags for these. I picked up a few guarder aluminium Glock mags lately (G17 and stendos) and they're a game changer tbh.
  15. eBay definitely the best source of MTP uniforms I've seen. I've not really looked at MTP but you can get surplus DPM trousers or shirts for under £5 each pretty often; surp MTP seems to be a smidge more money but not by much given there's so much of it out there. It's an order of magnitude better value than any of the commercial copy stuff out there.
  16. Cheap new chinese kit with iffy knock-off quick release buckles doesn't fit in the 'realiable and hassle free' category, I'd say the opposite frankly. It might be fine, it might break after a game or when a bb hits one of the buckles; you roll the dice. There's various Warrior kit on eBay right now that's bomb proof, plus some arktis as mentioned. Or there's the venerable BULLE options which have always been solid and yet still real cheap: https://www.flecktarn.co.uk/odtmb2nx.html https://www.flecktarn.co.uk/odtav2nx.html This'll be way better made than the invader gear kit at about 40% less money. https://www.flecktarn.co.uk/sdtav3nx.html Just some of the examples out there.
  17. You're meant to declare just about eeeverything to the tax people. I most certainly do, oh yes.
  18. Gonna thoroughly disagree with all airsofters knowing what deodorant is/that showering every day is a necessity lol. Tbh I don't see much of a difference between a bunch of airsoft players going to The Mall back when that ran (or one of the many other currently operating sites that are in the middle of a dense urban area) vs con attendees heading to their expo centre... or me just transporting a RIF from any address to another for a reason that's within the law i.e. to one of the techs I use. Or buying a RIF from an airsoft shop and bring it home. Or buying an air rifle or crossbow or whatever else from a shop and taking it home. If you let people see a 'gun' in public (in the UK) then guess what, ya dun fucked up son. If you keep it totally hidden until you are within an area where gun-shaped things are legal to display and the appearance of said items is very much expected by everyone around, then that's going to be fine.
  19. There was a time around the end of the freefloated quad rail era (but before KeyMod) where the latest cool tech in handguards was direct thread attachment i.e. screw-on accessories. The holes in handguards of that era do resemble M-LOK, but the many threaded holes are the key indicator when trying to discern. We're talking right around a decade ago now though so I'd imagine most folks just aren't aware. Honestly it was a great system that made forends thin and light, but often the accessories were proprietary to a given make of handguard which hampered adoption in the market and it all mostly vanished once KeyMod hit the big time. Q are actually kinda going back to it now with their Q-Sert alternative system.
  20. Mm, with some ex Mauser weapon designers that were around in germany in 1949.. 😂 Just messing with Spoons obviously, just a choice combo of company + phrase, I think we can safely say HK now is fine.
  21. A lot of the modern 1-piece scope mounts do cantilever forward and don't require a lot of 20mm slots, what you have should be enough for something out there. Cheek weld may be the other issue, as tends to crop up with designs from the 50s(ish) where optics weren't really accommodated for, so I'd say bear that in mind.
  22. That pic is either the Warlord or Denali, I looked up both on google images to see which picture I could find of the most comically huge/overloaded chest rig possible. I think if someone had to gun to my head and forced me to recommend one bit of gear that'd be most likely to the majority of people for sunday skirmishes, I'd probably go for something with the footprint of a Spiritus Thing 2 (other systems are available).
