I know this post is just over a year old but wondered if you ever sold this off for parts? I am looking for a specific part for one of these and it is impossible to get 🙁

I think I did sell that one, but then ended up with another one in a bulk buy.

Message me and I'll see what I have

  2. Looking to venture further afield to make up for a lack of interesting sites up North, I'm considering some sites, one of which is Fireball, near Birmingham.

Has anyone been before, or currently plays there?

If so, what's it like? How does it play, what are the players and staff like?

How's the terrain, and are there any site specific rules or restrictions to be aware of?

    Thanks!

  3. As it's nearly 2025, it's time to take stock of the last year and how it's been.

For me, it's been somewhat of a disappointment on the Airsoft front; with a mix of poor timings and worse weather leading to fewer days out than I've been wanting.

In response, I'm looking forward to the new year and hoping to change that!

I'm based in the North East, which for me, is not great when it comes to Airsoft.

Most of the sites up here have little to interest me which means there's been a lot of travelling on the few times I've been able to get out.

Trying to make it a bit more efficient, I'm looking at weekend games, so that I can split up the travelling so I'm not driving 3/4+ hours each way.

What sites are there that offer either games on both Saturday and Sunday, and/or allow camping on the night before?

Specifically, I'm interested in outdoor sites; woodland and urban. Purely indoor CQB holds little interest to me nowadays.

I'm not necessarily talking about specific weekend events/milsims etc. but more towards normal open days, though they aren't to be ruled out.

The nearest one to me that offers this is No Man's Land, where they run games on both days of the weekend, and there's also Phoenix Airsoft that does similar, from what I've seen; though I've not been.

Is there anywhere that offers what I'm looking for, or am I likely to be out of luck?

Anyway, happy new years to you all!

  4. Also, you're not going to magically get better range or Accuracy just be switching to a gas gun.

What ammo do you use currently?

Have a look at switching to heavier ammo to start with, as well as maybe cleaning or even replacing your barrel & bucking.

If you're struggling with having to fire excessively to get a hit now, then switching to a GBBR is only going to exacerbate this, but with a reduced magazine capacity.

  5. I struggled to get any decent performance out of mine with a maple leaf MR or Macaron variant.

One of the very basic original 60º Maple leafs seemed to work okay for a while, but not having a range to test it out on, it was a long slow process of 'build up and set for a safe power with no hop' then take it out to a game, set the hop and then test it.

Often resulting in being massively under the power limit once I got my hop set for my chosen weight (either 0.32 or 0.36) and then requiring me to come back home, disassemble the gearbox to install a new spring to suit. (Later on I bought an SVD-S that had a quick change spring I could change without taking the gun apart. So much easier!)

By now, over a year and a half after originally getting it, I ended up with a 650mm 6.02 tightbore (maybe ZCI, I can't remember?) with a smaller window, and just a basic design bucking. (Laylax 60º blue) That seemed to give a reliable, fairly consistent performance that I just wasn't getting with any of the fancier buckings.

Gearbox wise, I got one of the FPS nozzles with o-rings, some piston o rings from @ak2m4 and a guarder M110 that ended up giving me around 1.64J once hop was set.

  6. I bought this on a whim recently, as a small project, and got to the point where I'm wanting to remove the safety to access the air nozzle/ cylinder assembly.

Unfortunately, all the guides online don't cover the VM9, And it's just different enough so that the WE/Maruti etc. guides don't apply.

I can't remove the safety Switch in order to remove the rest of it, and now I'm a bit stumped. (see photos below)

It looks like I should just have to remove the right hand lever, the little securing screw and then rotate the main safety on the left side clockwise so that it's free from the slide and then it should just pop out easily.

Does anyone have any experience with this, or suggestions?

    Thanks!

*Never mind! It was the actual nozzle/cylinder unit itself that was getting in the way.

That needed to be slid forwards as you remove the safety.

I knew that once I'd posted this, I'd end up sorting it! 🤡😂

  7. I've had both the clones and TM, and tbh. I'd never go back to a clone nowadays.

The trigger isn't as good, the mags are finicky, and the feed lips are more fragile -  they don't load as smoothly.

Plus, I've always had issues with performance of the clones after a while, where the power drops, and often doesn't feed.

Contrast that with the Marui versions that I've had for several years, and had no issues.

  8. As Galvatron says, this is actually a good time in Airsoft to get back into the second hand market sales, with discords updated TOS crushing one of the most popular platforms for sales.

Advertising would definitely be one route to add sustainability to it on a financial basis, as well as what some of the other second hand sales sites do; (Either Prefired or Used Airsoft, I can't remember which) which is to charge a small amount weekly for adverts, with the option of additional services, such as highlighting, putting adverts to the top etc. as well as buying a 6 month to a year membership that allows unlimited adverts without paying for each one individually.

The platform itself is sound, it's unfortunately just the deficient IQ of some of the users that have made it a pain to use (but this can be said about Airsoft as a whole really!)

As an aside @ItsDave had anyone ever messaged you before, regarding the lack of emails/notifications, or was this just an unknown issue to you?

  9. Just had a brief talk with one of the admins or staff of AirsoftHub after an idle message that tbh, I didn't think would actually go anywhere.

They've said that the notifications issue should be rectified now, and they've also added dates to all placed adverts so you can see when they were posted now.

After this, it goes a long way to seeing why a lot of sellers I've messaged never actually reply; as some adverts were over a year old in some cases!

If anyone else uses it, either as a seller or buyer, can you post and let us know if the notifications issue has actually been sorted?

It'd be much appreciated. I'd do it myself, but there's nothing on there I can find that I'm interested in, now I can see the age of each advert! 😅

    Hello -

I am the owner of Airsoft Hub, and I thought i'd address a few of the comments made here - as well as any additional ones you may have.

I founded Airsoft Hub back in 2017 and since then i've ran the website single handed at a loss. The website contains no adverts, I don't charge for listings or featured adverts etc. so I've been operating the website at a loss for 7, nearly 8 years. I have to pay for the server, image hosting, sending emails (when they work :D), SMS's for mobile verification etc. and there is tens of thousands of users on the platform.

Apologies if you do ever drop me a message and I don't reply, I don't even go Airsofting anymore, and haven't for probably 4-5 years so the website (unfortunately) isn't a priority for me and with the amount of users on the platform, it's impossible to keep up!

I have toyed with the idea of rebuilding it from the ground up in the last year, but i'm struggling to find the motivation to do so (it's a big time investment to not gain anything from it!). I believe when I made it 7 years ago, it was the best around, I don't know what the competition is like these days as as I mentioned previously, Airsoft isn't a hobby of mine anymore.

The notifications were broken and I apologise for that, unfortunately the server ran out of disk space a while back and killed off a background task as a result which went unnoticed for some time. But as of this evening should be resolved.

As for the future of Airsoft Hub, I can see 3 possible outcomes:

    1) I leave it as is, and let it run into the ground - although it is still very active looking at the analytics

    2) I rebuild it, but as part of that, i'll likely introduce payments of some sort (I was looking to use a 3rd party initially to do ID verification to remove scammers and make it the most secure platform. However, this comes at a cost). Essentially though, if i'm going to actively maintain it, it needs to be worth my time.

    3) I just kill it off and save myself some money each month.

I'd be open to opinions from the community on what they'd be interested in - and if there is any quick wins which will drastically improve the experience on the website, please let me know. For example, based on a message this evening, I added the age of the advert to the listing.

    Regards,

    Dave

    Airsoft Hub.

    Ah, what timing! 😂

I literally just posted about this and saw that someone had replied as I was typing it out.

    @ItsDave

I'm the one that messaged you earlier, I'll be quite honest, after all the other views and comments regarding the site, I assumed that it was already a dead site, or at least on its way there.

I messaged more out of frustration than anything, not expecting to hear back from anyone, but I'm very surprised and pleased to have got such a quick reply, let alone actually having anything done about it, so I'll say thank you for that!
