The 'What have you just bought' Thread
Davegolf replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Barrel arrived after nearly 2 months of the most stupid airsoft retailer service I’ve experienced, to top it off the barrel was delivered IN A BAG, seriously what is wrong with people! luckily it’s straight but it has a dent in the end, thanks Airsoft Direct, won’t be buying there again. -
I think ‘contraption’ best sums that up! The workings are insane looking!

A dry(ing) piston seal will cause cycling faults for sure. It should be lubed with TechT before each game day. Not at all, I like the Parker Hale gun oil, real steel stuff, smells amazing too.

They are not supposed to be silent, that’s air escaping as the gas fills up! 🙈

MP7 obv better for CQB/Rush work, but MWS hands down best ranged GBBR on the planet. MP7 is satisfyingly loud, but i am still annoyed they havent made a new version that is FULL SIZE!!!
-
OP obv not browsed through the MWS thread. As others have said don’t mess with it, it doesn’t need ‘upgrading’. Carry a spare nozzle return spring and nozzle, TM or GM brand. You will be carrying these spares NOT because they will break due to a design flaw but because if you do need them they can be hard to find in a hurry. Over a looooong time the return spring can fatigue - like 10s of thousands of rounds. And the nozzle may get damaged if you get crud in your mag, or use crap/old/swollen BBs Again most people break nozzles because they’ve ‘upgraded’ other parts. Leave it alone!!

Yeh… ‘oh the guns not running so great, maybe it just needs some more pressure’ Selling gun to recoup funds from buying Dyson.

Well I use them all as my ‘go-to’ depending on where I’m playing 🙃 Too many variables in this poll unless your trying to get marketing info as to general consumer percentage to each ‘power’ platform/system.

Indeed Merry Christmas to all, here’s to another year of pew’ing!

Hey everyone! Calling in some group experience! I’m planning a Kythera based DMR and am searching for a donor rifle with decent upgradeable externals, eg takes standard rail systems and outer barrels, and most importantly a really nice slick fire selector with a positive, crisp action. OBV TM recoils are out of the equation as next Gen gearbox won’t work. Oh and lastly if I’m being picky a decent rotary hop as standard. TIA!

If your gun is stock internally and fps is consistent +/- 4 fps then I’d look closely that the barrel, mags and ammo are good and clean. IDK what nub and bucking you are running but it’s always best to have a perfectly performing stock gun before trying ‘upgrades’. Throw a stock TM bucking and nub in for a baseline/fault tracing.
-
If you pull the upper off the gun, look at the front of the nozzle, there should be a half moon notch that points down toward the magazine. PS looks like your TM didn’t get any fairy dust ATM 🙃

Has this gearbox been removed/tech’d previously? Some thing to look out for on the NGRS AR platform… the special long nozzle has a notch in the bottom at the front end, likewise at the back is a anti rotation ‘key’ which locates into the tappet plate to correctly orient the nozzles aforementioned notch. If that isn’t in correctly you’ll have all sorts of crazy shiz. I take it you’ve done all the usual; Roll inner barrel on bench test if straight. Inner barrel slides into outer without resistance. (Outer bent). BB drop test through barrel. BBs good, not swollen/deformed/old/cheap. Bucking lips evenly seated/protruding from hop unit.
-
The SCAR NGRS in particular has the best hop unit of all the NGRS platforms, because it has a vertical follower. Use a stock TM bucking with an Omega type nub, if all is clean and good 0.25 or 0.28 ammo 45/50m should be normal.

What is it, an NGRS? I love a SCAR H Que the UGG comments!

Difference between LCT, E&L and CYMA AKs74
Davegolf replied to devross's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
If you can get an E&L you will be very pleased, lemons are few and far between. Otherwise I would go Cyma. LCT as above - spendy now but not so great, I had one with a bent outer barrel from new! -
