  1. I recommend Redcon-2 (Dalton Barracks, near Abingdon) as well . I was also there on Easter Sunday. The rules of engagement prevent speedy boi style of play. You're allowed to run HPA pistols on M4 mags but trigger spamming and pre-emptive firing will get you on the wrong side of the marshals. It's about 70 acres of land and they have a cap on the players they allow on the field based on the number of marshals they have booked in. They do a variation of games such as "total war" in the morning with set objectives for the morning session then in the afternoon, they split it into two 50-minute games with attacker and defender roles swapped. Redcon-2 also has milsim events every month or so.
  2. Well that's not true. AEP has ongoing costs in needing to charge batteries and the fact that rechargable batteries have finite charging cycles so they will need to be replaced in time. Consumables are part of play, some are just more overt than others. I don't even think AEP is worth it as a stop-gap "solution" because they're barely better than when I used one 20+ years ago. If anything, I'd say the gap between AEP and GBBP is greater now than it was back then. The other ongoing cost you perhaps haven't considered is depreciation. AEP is undesirable on the brand new market, even more so in the used market as the battery may be in poor charging health and getting spares may be a pain. If I can be so bold to speak for the other respondents, we're saying this because all of these criticisms of AEP are like cases where we've seen no shortage of people who despite advice given to them, they went ahead anyway and bought something they went on to really dislike and became more frustrated trying to resell it.
  3. Out of interest, which G&G model caught your eye? I wouldn't avoid the brand though depending on the model you buy, can can get more out of your hard-earned. Have you looked at the Double Eagle M904/M906 series? The former looks like it's being phased out for the latter to replace it and it is much less expensive but the M904 was regarded was an AEG that gave (and still gives) really good value for money.
  4. Yes, the site's rules will definitely help as some sites permit a minimum of an electronic means of limiting yourself to safe and single-shot fire only whereas some insist that you also have a mechanical means to prevent your firing selector being switched to full auto even if your MOSFET or whatever electronic firing system is limited to single shot only. The Vorsk model is only in its first iteration of production but as others pointed out, its low temperature performance has yet to be seen. I suspect ChatGPT has suggested it only because it is by, for want of a better a term, a box shifter brand rather being a model that has been extensively field-tested as a DMR.
  5. Though the broken part of the upper receiver doesn't affect the red dot, you've essentially lost your right-hand iron sight so some functionality has been impaired. You could see £120-150 because it's a TM though I wouldn't be surprised to see people bartering toward the bottom end because of the upper damage.
  6. No, single shot only. No binary triggers, no burst. One BB fired per trigger pull and release only. As Tackle said, sites may insist on either a 2-second delay between shots or for there to be only one BB in the air when you're firing. It goes against the idea of a marksman if you need to spray a target to hit them. Not only does shooting above the site limit invalidate the site's insurance and make them liable if they were to allow you to play, you could be charged for committing assault if you use an illegal airsoft weapon and injure a player.
  7. The response time isn't the quickest unfortunately. Unless anything's changed that I'm not aware of, it's still a one-man band running the site.
  8. Not the sharpest knife in the draw, is he/she? Hopefully, while you've been messaged, nobody's been scammed into paying anything. If any contacts him by message on the site (if it works), fingers crossed they see a red flag when the scammer asks for PayPal F&F or a bank transfer despite PayPal G&S in the copy & pasted text.
  9. I really don't want to come across harshly (I genuinely don't). The used market for two-tone is quite unpredictable because of the smaller buyer base. It's just gone Easter so it's more of a buyer's market than a seller's market until the middle of next month going through summer when things might be more favourable for sellers. There are more airsoft boot sales being hosted these days. Depending on where in the UK you are and the cost of your travel and pitch to sell from, that might be an option for you.
  10. For me, it's the colour match more than the sliding style I'm not sure on. With the rest of the tan furniture, I'd prefer a tan stock myself.
  11. So did I. He really should have asked for an appraisal first.
  12. Have you tried Fire Support or Eagle Six? They often have mag followers and the parts for the linkage.
  13. Where was that price pulled from? I've seen those go brand new for about £400 both this year and in 2023.
  14. For the sake of clarity, what did you check and double check when you took it apart? I assume you looked down the barrel with it and the hop unit to confirm the nub was pushing down the bucking as you increased the hop and it lifted off when you decreased hop? What weight are you using?
  15. https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/38161-m4-ar Non-descript M4 listing without a brand & model. Seller wants £200 where the only photo is an M4 being used at Skirmish Wycombe but nothing to hint the listing itself is legitimate. Bank transfer only because he's allegedly been scammed. Really confidence-inspiring. ? In the words of Whitney Houston, "crack is cheap".
  16. I'll say around the £475-500 mark - there's a bit of sway around the PEQ box along with the torch, holo sight and the magnifying scope. Unless the original stock, rail and grip are included, I would argue that they're not additions but rather swap-outs - if you have the original parts and they're in good condition, you may be better off putting them back on the gun and selling the aftermarket parts separately.
  17. It depends on which AEG you have but if you're referring to your LT-32, you should only need to remove the butt stock and buffer tube (with a bolt in the tube) to access the QCS where a hex head should push in the spring guide at the back of your gearbox, where you'd do a quarter turn to release the guide and spring. Whether an M100, M95 or M105, etc, by the same brand would be suitable depends a lot on how good your compression is with the cylinder.
  18. Sorry to hear that. It's genuinely infuriating. It's not weird at all that airsoft helps with depression. It's like going to the gym or any other activity that releases endorphins. I hope you get it all back.
  19. £40 if it cycles well. How had this been stored? If don't know if that's tape on the bag or genuine discolouration of the BBs but I'd be loath to fire them in any airsoft gun I care about.
  20. I think our friend has experienced the onset of a post-high moment of clarity. His pricing is less ridiculous but still overly ambitious here https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/rif-s/gas-powered_1/tokyo-marui-m4a1-mws-gbbr-z-sistem_i78065
  21. He wants nearly £700 and can't write his own description with concrete specs? Are the mags possibly leaking? Is the eye protection possibly only rated for dust and not Z87/EN166 safety? Is the tactical vest possibly one of those cheap Amazon jobbies?
  22. Whitney Houston springs to mind with the phrase "Crack is cheap"...
  23. Would we be right in guessing that when you say you have a "pretty old M4", it's a somewhat vanilla style of M4? A vanilla M4 gives you a lot more motor options with a regular M4/AR-15 style grip. If you have something a bit left field like a pistol grip for example, you may have fewer options because you may have a few degrees difference where the motor engages with the bevel gear so proprietary parts may be at play and possibly a hindrance. Perhaps you should disclose which M4 you have in case there are those more learned than us who may know if there are pitfalls to watch out for? I had bought a couple of items in the past from Phenix Airsoft and Airsoft Store if you prefer to buy from the EU.
  24. UCAP doesn't surprise me and I think it's reasonable. With a weight cap, it saves having to enforce an MED in the CQB areas of their mixed outdoor and indoor sites. At least that's what I assume the rationale is.
  25. Wolf Armouries put itself up for sale before Bunker 51 went under though you can't see the closure helping matters. AGL Airsoft is also just 5 minutes away on foot and while it's not sprawling with products, it has value-added services with a shooting range. I haven't been there but I'd imagine its staff are less... curmudgeonly than those at Wolf Armouries.
