If you're uncertain, is it feasible for you to visit a shop that has an in-store tech and shooting range? The tech might have open springs you could test with so you'd know if an M100, M95, M90, etc would be the best option for you. As otthers said, there isn't a practical linear way of determining the change in performance even when you know the spring as the air seal in the cylinder has an effect too. Sometimes there is trial and error. Pardon my confusion but is that the weight where you're quoting a current speed of 350fps? I'm not sure that's even legal, let alone permitted on outdoor sites for a full-auto capable airsoft gun. 328fps is still sketchy with 0.25g pellets as that's above ~1.14J. Just to clear any doubt, what's the site's energy limit and/or what's the maximum speed permitted with a pellet of a specified weight? FYI, it's not a universal rule that indoor/CQB sites don't allow ~1.14J - the site I play at does permit up to that energy limit with up to 0.28g pellets. I know the likes of Bunker 51 have a hard limit of 1J.

Welcome! Roughly where in the UK are you based and what gun platforms/loadouts have you taken an interest in?

Competitive Tournament in London
Galvatron replied to Toxic Raider 2-1's topic in Other Events and Meets
No mention of pricing. No mention of joule/fps limits. No maximum pellet weight specified. No minimum age specified or conditions for under 18s if they are allowed to play. No details of whether the competition is insured. I'd like for this event to be legitimate simply for the sake of people being able to play but there needs to be more transparency than winging it and hoping people's confidence will be inspired. -
Used estate car. Don't know the brand, age or mileage. Had it repaired, next thing fuel pump wouldn't feed fuel into into the engine. Haven't got the time to send it to get repaired. Eveything else works - £100,000. Bargain.

Assuming that you are legitimately planning to play at Bunker 51, would it be a challenge to disclose more details? Can a representative of Bunker 51 vouch for an event being hosted? Would people pay Bunker 51 directly or would they pay you? I don't think transparency would go amiss. -
"I've been as honest as i can, its a fun little full auto side arm/primary at the right site looking for a quick sale or swap, just no longer needed." Have you been as honest as you can or as honest as you are willing to be? The right site for this gun is one that wouldn't allow it in the safe zone if marshals caught wind of its condition. Without a functional safe mode, the gun is a liability in any designated safe zones, just one accidental or careless trigger pull from a stern warning or ban for the owner. It's not a support gun that marshals will look out for to see that you've disconnected the battery before entering the safe zone, regardess of the fact that you remove the mag first. Nobody is "talking for the sake of talking" as you put it, nor are they "worse than tyre kickers". They're talking for the sake of looking out for novices and those otherwise unaware of what to look out for or the value of used airsoft kit, especially when they're guns that have structural and fucntional faults. If somebody else was selling this, would you not think you are being charged a premium to take on a liability that will cost a lot to fix properly? This is why damaged/faulty cars or heavily indebted businesses sell for very little compared to whether those cars were in better working/cosmetic order or if the company wasn't in heavy debt.

I'd seen preowned Hera Arms CQRs at a couple of skirmish sites go for £230-300. The one I saw at £300 was pretty much pristine.

Advice acknowledged and reposted at a more realistic price, minus the potential fire hazard charger https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/26914-specna-arms-sa-e06-h-aeg

You're in dangerous territory near Mildenhall and Thetford. You have DK Armaments and Only Airsoft (Norfolk) on your doorstep to drain your bank account. -
Like I said "if you can find them at the right price". I saw a decent in-store deal at Extreme Airsoft a few months back on a batch of stock of a G&G Combat Machine (I can't remember which model specifically or the handguard length) they were selling for below £200 as one of their suppliers wanted to clear its surplus. I'm 100% with you saying they're not a competitively priced budget vendor any more when you can buy RIFs with more features at the same price point from G&G's competitors now.
-
They're definitely worth a purchase. They're less expensive to replace than your optic and those optics aren't designed with repairs/spare parts in mind.
-
I would have to third the recommendation to take the rental path for a couple of months to get your UKARA defence. Two-tone may cost you more in the long run as they tend to depreciate more than a RIF so you'd spend less money renting than you stand to lose buying and reselling a two-tone. Some of Double Bell's modern RIFs may be worth considering as they've improved greatly from older generations. If you can find them at the right price, G&G isn't a bad option either.
-
I've bought a RIF and a few accessories from them before. I rate them pretty highly and the owner is very easygoing and knowledgeable. The out of stock item is unfortunate and inconvenient but it could be a BB Guns 4 Less special where they take your money anyway and ship you a crappy, lower-cost substitute without consulting you... or so many people have told.

I'm inclined to agree given the Colt markings. It looks like if has an aftermarket grip too.

Welcome to the respawn! -
You can try the Battery (part of RIFT Airsoft, the same group Dan alluded to previously). It's got both indoor and outdoor and in much of the site, you have sufficient line of sight for a sniper rifle but you whether you use an AEG, DMR or sniper rifle, you would be limted to 1.13J on up to 0.28g pellets.
-
I bet those testing would be the ones who would blindly run their finger along the weight vs fps chart and declare a "hot" gun when the player intends to shoot with a heavier pellet.
-
Alternatively, you can use this formula in Excel or similar spreadsheet programme depending on whether you use feet per second or metres per second so you can see the workings of how kinetic energy is calculated =1/2*(cell with weight in grams/1000)*(cell with speed in fps/3.28084)^2 =1/2*(cell with weight in grams/1000)*(cell with speed in m/s)^2

Welcome. How hardline are your travel boundaries in the "London area"? Are indoor sites with barrels, wooden walls, barricades, etc, completely out of the question as you said you wanted and outdoor site? It may be worth taking a look at this site for options. https://playairsoft.uk/

I bought an airsoft gun to use at a field but I didn't realise I would have to actually pay money to play at a site, nor did I factor in travel when I don't even have a car. I didn't have the patience to wait for a UKARA defence so I flouted the law and did a piss-poor job of removing the blue paint. £100 reflects the regret I have in not researching, planning and asking around before investing so much into something that didn't work out. I think that price is reasonable even though you can buy the same RIF brand new without my 'custom' paint removal for the same price" https://bbguns4less.co.uk/products/cyma-cm517-m4-with-ras-handguard-in-black.html

For what it's worth, I fitted a Perun MOSFET to my P90. My specific reason for doing so was wanting to improve the trigger response as most familiar with the standard TM P90 and its clones will tell you there is a big and inconsistent dead zone (especially in semi-auto) with the trigger bar and contacts on the gearbox. The Perun unit does away with all of that and replaces the cut-off lever with its own. I can't stress enough how big a difference it has made as the trigger response is vastly superior and more consistent, with me no longer having a dead zone as a source of frustration.

What does everyone really think of kickingmustang
Galvatron replied to Mk46 Mod0's topic in General Discussion
No, that would be a compliment. It would imply he has the warmth, depth and capacity to give pleasure. He's an inch further behind as he wishes to shit all over everything and profit from the process.
