A moments silence for the passing of an MB02 rif.
Egon_247 replied to Egon_247's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Lol. I did think that. Three hands are better than two. 😂😂😂 The inner barrel ends at the end of the stock (G spec mb03) so I'm going to cut the rest off. -

Yeah, second that about the extension piece. The 904g is v short in the battery box area. Nice person on here printed me an add on piece. Much betterer. 😁 Oh and the suppressor went as it was curving my shots too 😱

Have you watched the history of Airsoft on YouTube? It's very good. Quite enlightening.

There's a thread in here that throws much love at the de m90x range. I have the 904g and I love it to death. The ONLY issue I've had is the MOSFET refused to play nice with my 11.1v but bunging a 7.4v in it made it electronically happy again.😁

Hello and welcome to the mad house. Occasionally you find sane one in here... 😂👍

Agreed. More drugs applied. 😂😁

Apologies for the random questions but I do tend to over think stuff...😁 Ok, so a standard AEG with standard motor. 18,000 rpm motor through the gears makes the sector gear do 1000 rpm. Not that you're holding it for a full 60 seconds but that's rapid, isn't it? Now, the bevel and spur gears are fine as they're concen concen con, round. They're balanced while spinning. The sector gear has big pointy lumps sticking out of it to do it's piston slinging magic. It has holes drilled in it too, I've noticed. I'm sure they balance up fine. But what about when you short stroke one? Two, three, four teeth missing on something that rattles around at 1000 rpm, even momentarily is surely going to cause some "ann summers" type of chaos in that little ally gearbox? Is there a way of balancing them? I've tried to do it by using a countersink on the opposing drillings and resting the shafts on a cut out slot, but is this a thing? Or am I overthinking it and need more ssri tablets? 😁😂

Oh yes indeedy. Bored engineers are dangerous. Yeah, i gave the air line a quick squirt of silicone then rubbed it off, so it didnt migrate and sod it all up. Not sure standard silicone is man enough but hey, it aint a daft idea if it works, right? If you were going to get proper anal about it, i suppose you could block the airline then pressurize it, causing it to swell and apply outward force, sealing it properly.

Just used it to fill the barrel bore while the tigerseal set. 👍

I've been an engineer for a long time. Electrical mostly but mechanical along the way with a bit of instrumentation to mix it up. I like doing things and generally playing, do 98% of the stuff on my cars and pretty good with the tools. So this Airsoft malarkey seems pretty straightforward so far. Shimming boxes and whatnot, growing extra fingers to put v2 boxes back together. So I was looking at how to cut a hop window into a barrel. Long story short I've got some busted stuff and I'm playing with it, to recycle. Greta would be orgasmic. 😁 So I've been looking at these R and S hop things. Engineering brain switches on and after inserting a bit of 6mm nylon airline, I coated the hop window with tigerseal. (If you've never used it, it's a polyurethane sealant and sticks to EVERYTHING and EVERYONE 😂) Tidied it up and let it cure for a few days. Pulled out the airline and it looks like a S hop. Haven't fired it yet but it's strong as hell!! Anyone tried this? I searched but nothing popped up....

I never knew that. Today has been a learning day. 👍😁 -
Ladies and gentlemen, A moments peace for the passing of an MB02 rif. It came to me damaged and after a small recovery period and some surgery, managed to sustain itself well. With the addition of parts, it came back to life and its greatest achievement was registering 408fps. Unfortunately the second set of sears gave up and mullered the piston, rendering it a wall hanger and ending any interest in "bolt actions" in our household. It carried a donor card and its barrel has been donated to be used in several pistols. A dim light extinguished. Now, wheres my Aug....

Wash your mouth out! That was a truly dire watch!!! 🤮 Team America's montage pops in my head every time I see things like that ...😂😂

A few years ago I worked for ocado at cfc4, erith. It's all robots running around doing the shopping thing. Unfortunately, cfc3 had an issue where one bot caught light then went back to doing the shopping, Merrily setting fire to the place. By the time someone spotted it, it was too late. When the fire brigade turned up they asked what was in there... "Only 400 robots carrying 20kg lipo batteries each" "Oh, ok. We'll put out the rest of the building then...." 😱😱😱😱🤮😁🔥🚒🧨🎇

You're into airsoft....which means you permanently have neither. ..😂😂😂

So, been doing this airsoft malarkey for 18 months or so an i'd like to thank each person on this forum for help given a long the way. So, like a noob, I bought a boneyard mb03 sniper rifle when first starting out. Cos, you know, we all do it, snipers are cool and all that. 😁 Could never get it above 280fps on a .28. not great, so I gave up and carried on with the honey badger, the kids bought all sorts and I've got quite good at fixing stuff ... The poor mb sat on the wall, sulking. At a loose end yesterday and thought I'd have another play. Turns out you need the correct hop rubber and a cylinder head that actually goes into said hop rubber...😂😂😂😂😂 450fps. Happy days. 😁
-
Ooooh. Aug goodness. 😁 I bought a boneyard TM one. For the paltry sum of £90. It wasn't well. @Iceni pointed me in the correct direction and after managing to lunch a spur gear (yup, tm cheesium gears) with the addition of a high torque motor, I rebuilt the box, painted it the correct RAL colour (aka "mud"- seriously, that's the Oem name for it!!) And I LOVE IT. I apparently have an oddball one, as mines all silencered up but may be a tm/snow wolf swinging session outcome. 490mm tb barrel, m105, hi torque, metal gears 😁, new Oem hop with a maple and I can chuck 0.28's at people all day.

I have a desert Bergen, but it's not a dpm. Bought it years ago, damn thing still had sand in it...😂

Had to laugh to myself....EPIC BB size...

Help choosing my first AEG please (Double Eagle M9XXX) :)
Egon_247 replied to Coupsty's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Welcome to the madhouse. 😁 I have the honey badger m904g. It's awesome. It's my first AEG and you can't go too far wrong with it. I've added parts, tuned it, removed parts, got a pat on the head from Kevin at Q in the states (original designer of the honey badger and all round nice bloke) too. Learn the steps to program it and it's a hoot. 😁 I've added: battery box extension, maple leaf bucking, +50mm tight bore, gearbox shimmed and greased, paint job, go faster motor. I've messed with springs and managed to lock the gearbox ARL (anti reverse latch) and it still came back for more. Currently just under 1 joule on 0.28's. I love it. -
The 'What have you just bought' Thread
Egon_247 replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I bought a replacement v3 gearbox to replace the one I murdered in my aug. Now I'm busy googling how to drill the TM gearbox bush holes to fit the ones from the replacement....😁 -
So there i was, looking up the specs of my old pew and saw that PB had done some improvements to the original barrel bore and length.... LOL.
-
My day at Apocalypse 249, started fine...trial running the TM Aug that i've been nursing back to life. Then it went like this.... "PEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWGRAUNCHGRINDGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrr. tinkle" ahhhh. Oh dear. Ok, time to learn about building DMR's out of Steyr Augs....
