  1. Cheers for the offer @BigAlbut I think I've Frankensteined it. The cm16 looks a bit odd but it's only for when the kids bring a mate along, so I'm not too worried. The m904g probably needs a new classification now though. 😂😂 Just a bit of rattle can and that'll look the nuts. Thanks for the guidance (again!). I'll get the hang of this tech malarkey eventually 😂😂😂 Now, where's my cigars.....😂
  2. Definitely showing my age there 😂😂 Between that and the "Ooooh Geordie" tango advert....ahh Thems were the days! 😂😂
  3. Cheers Lozart, that's kinda what I was after. The OEM stuff I was referring to is the bits that people take off and fit the Carlos Fandango version. 😂 I'll buy something shortly and see if I can't ruin a perfectly good rif. 😂😂
  4. So... My DE M904G. Shes awesome in every way. Only i'd like to make her longer. Size envy, if you will. Its a man thing. So, having scoured the ads on here a LOT, i have come to the conclusion i have no clue what im doing. Gearboxes? fine. barrels and hops? yup, all good. Handguards? ooooh dear. no clues. So the DE badger has a little nut that, when you turn it, expands, locking the handguard in place (mostly) then theres 4 little stealth screws that, once youve painted your rif, become nigh on impossible to notice, causing much irritation... My questions are these.... Can i fit a longer handguard from anything? assuming i need the "nut" as well? Longer outer barrels should fit the receiver and do up with the original nut? Obviously its going to need a longer INNER barrel, that bit i can do without confusing myself. Where is all the OEM stuff hiding after everyone has fitted a daniel defence doodah with bells and whistles? (who is daniel, and why does the man need so much stuff to defend himself????) I'm guessing its going to need the dremel and some thinking.......
  5. This advert is COMPLETED!

Cheap, used, outer barrel and handguard required for making the DE M904G a bit longer. Ive managed to chew up the thread on my badger outer barrel (schoolboy error!) and want to make it longer. Cheap as, not into the super duper daniel defence stuff, its nice, im just not into the bling. I imagine i'll have to cut and shut it about anyway. @HuttArmouries got anything in your stash mate?

  6. When attempting to build your M14, ensure you have actually inserted the piston and not wait until you have it fully rebuilt to realise....D'oh!!

      Feel your pain.

Once forgot to bolt the piston head to the piston and was headscratching why the fps was fine for 5 shots then completely dived off a cliff.

Don't forget the tappet plate spring either. I may or may not have done that once.

I wouldnt mind as much but it was a V7 gearbox and got it all back in, only for it to make high speed zzziinnngggy noises. I laughed....

  7. Just a quick update and a glimmer of hope to those who worry about doing stuff to aeg's, I had about 30% confidence in this m4 but we took it out on Saturday to a skirmish and other than one of the mags playing up and not feeding properly, it worked a treat. Went through chrono fine as the spring had settled and enough hop on a 0.28g to be decently accurate. Happy days. On to the g36....😂
  8. Well today I finally got to have a decent look at the TM G36C that I got a while ago. Love the fact that it still has the "heavy weight" 0.25's in the packet and the bag of "don't shoot the dog" documents. It shoots, it's probably ok as a cqb, it has a torch holder on the right hand side so I think it's done most of its work indoors. I think this is from around 2000ish. 😱😁
  9. People not selling the exact part I need so I have to go back to looking for really weird bits for my broken pews. 😂 (Although to be fair I'm slowly depleting Mr huttarmouries pile of bits 😂😂)
  10. Thats cool. Maybe i should hunt down its little brother and have a matching pair Just need to find some space on the wall of toys now...running out of space!!
  11. I put a small oring on mine, makes it pretty solid and doesn't move really.
  12. Just finished putting the boys TM M4A1 back together after a lot of trying to get it to work. It's gotta be 20+ years old. Love the scope on it too. Cracking little pew. Best road test it at the next skirmish day. 😁❤️👍
  13. Ooooh. Yeah. Baby. So I poked about a bit more and found that the barrel moved back and forth in the hop chamber, which isn't great obviously. So I cleaned it up with ipa and added a couple of turns of Ptfe tape to the outside of the rubber. Put it all back together and boom. 1.317J on a 0.28g. a touch too high granted but it feeds. It shoots. May have overdone the spring 😁 I'll get some pics up in a bit of it in all it's annoying glory. Thank you guys. Always helpful to those with silly pews...❤️❤️👍😂
  14. I have a zci rotary in it now. the original was missing along with the barrel. It fits, its tight against the gearbox and the foregrip. it definitely aint moving! I have a concern though. just been doing the googles and it appears that MOST m4 nozzles are 21 point something long. the one that's in it is a 20.7mm. i wonder if the original owner tried to do things and put in the wrong nozzle. I mean, the tappet plate was wrong, so why wouldnt the nozzle be. Ok, back to the drawing board...best go and buy some nozzles...
  15. This is slowly becoming a wall hanger. Shame really, its a nice pew. Theres no space for a spring in front of the hop unit, o rings wont fit either. the nozzle is clearing the feed tube but i'm not sure its going far enough forward to seal on the hop rubber. Cant remove any material from the hop unit to bring it back further as the mag wont fit.... catch 22.... has anyone actually done this or am i attempting to bring a corpse back from the dead?
  16. And almost a year to the day..... I chewed up the threads on the outer barrel...the Cherry bomb muzzle doodad is now all floppy and no one likes a floppy cherry bomb.... Where can i get an outer barrel? do others fit?
  17. Just a matter of nozzle length now I think. It's still a bit meh.
  18. I have a JG SD, it's about 15 years old, done many MANY rounds through it and it refuses to die. Only recently done some work on it, a tad on the fiddly side but once you get the hang of it, it's fine.
  19. Maybe, just maybe, the V3 tappet plate in the V2 gearbox that was installed by the previous owner wasn't the smartest move..... I dunno. Some people....😳🧐
  20. I just tried a shorter nozzle and it's feeding, just at 0.2j. 😁😱😂 Looks like I need the original nozzle to come back a bit further to clear the feed tube. I wouldn't mind so much but the front wired M4 is a pig of a fiddle to do. 🤬😱😂 Actually, thinking about it, I can't do that cos the tappet plate is held against the cylinder head isn't it? Oh well. Hop unit change. Grrr.
  21. Aha...eureka moment. Looked into the feed tube and the nozzle isn't clearing the tube enough to allow it to feed. Looks like it might be time for a sector delay thingy. Might pull it back far enough to work. 😁😂
  22. Cheers matey. This is the first time I've done a hop unit that wasn't a straight swap. It's sat against the gearbox pretty solid but I'll give the o rings a shot 😁👍
  23. So.... Having been given a 20+ year old TM m4a1 by someone, Im trying to get it up and running again. Gearbox done, gears, grease n shimming, new piston n m100 spring. All happily doing their thing. Only issue now is that it had a 2 piece hop unit. But alas, one bit was missing along with the barrel. 😕 So I've attacked it with a Dremel and made one fit (an old g&g I had kicking about), bought a barrel too There's no space in front of it for the spring. Upon test firing just now it doesn't feed at all well (1 in 3 shots) but when it does it's up to 0.8j. I get the feeling that the g&g hop unit is crap, it's not a rotary one, so I've ordered a zci one to go in it. Is the spring an absolute necessity? I've heard tales of o rings being used to shim it back to the V2 gearbox. The mag lines up ok but my concern is that if I shim the hop back to the gearbox, the mag won't line up. Any thoughts?
  24. So, after shifting the wall around to make space for the "free" TM toys that i was given, the P90 made its way to its new home. I imagine i'll get tech duties on it for a while as it hasnt gone far. The M4A1 has been coming along slowly as the two part hop that TM graced it with was missing along with a few other bits, so thats been a work in progress and the G36 hasnt actually come out of the box other than to remove the mother of all 8.6v NiCad battery that was still in it after 10 years in storage! But, after a day of gooning around at a skirmish, i got the offer of a WE galaxy pistol with 4 mags, for the lowly sum of £60. So i bought it, cos why not. The thing is like a hand held cannon. Overhopping 0.28's and generally being 1.02J of pocket silly. I'll get a pic up when i get home as its nothing to look at at all but jees, it can lob plastic for a pistol!
