The 'What have you just bought' Thread
Dan Robinson replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Maybe it's a problem for shorter pew pews.... But, but more than once I've forgotten to lift the gun high enough to clear my cover with the barrel and ended up shooting myself in the chest with a ricochete... Of course with perfect line of sight with the optic. 😂😂 -
Yeah - just been looking at it.... and the JG36E as well... you git. LOL

Some names ring bells there LOL. When the Wildhearts reformed in the 00's I remember sitting in our kitchen with Stidi, and bottle of gold tequila, some other questionable substances, helping him get the stops right in Caffeine Bomb. Having to listen to the drama's between minor (and occasionally middling) celebrities was at the same time amusing and tiring. Ginger being the instigator of many. Listened to a lot of Ramones and Tom Petty during those year too LOL

Thanks for the advice chaps. Lots to digest there... Will keep an eye on @Asomodai's DMR sale when it pops up too.

Have a video of my lad loosing his shit to DuHast when he was 3 or 4 in the back of our car - it was hilarious. Last gig I went to was me taking SWMBO to see X Japan at Wembley - fuck me that went on for nearly 6 hours. Used to have a musician flat mate so went to a fair few smaller gigs in London (he was the/a drummer in the Wildhearts); he was supporting The Darkness when they had a world tour and managed to get us celebrity enclosure passes for the reading festival that year. Remember having a few beers with The Offspring..... but not much else after that. Woke up the following morning, upside down, in the back of my van with a close to dead battery an the radio still blasting music at full volume. Fun times.

As mentioned in another thread, I'm steering my towards a DMR for my next major purchase. I don't have the patience for bolt actions and gillie suits, but I quite like the thought out approach to cover and picking sight lines. Also quite happy to be limited to one-ish shot at a time. I suppose the main thing putting me off is the price of the heavier BBs which I also appreciate should be proportional to the ROF. I can't help thinking theres a certain amount of piss taking though with the price almost doubling. Comments appreciated on the roll versus regular AEGs. Or is it worth investing in a regular aeg with decent range, albeit with less accuracy?

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread

Indeed, I was going to pose the question elsewhere about what is considered a reasonable ROF when using a DMR. Was enjoying the more tactical style of play with my 4x acog, but my Specna simply doesn't have the legs; but it's more than adequate for my level of CQB. I'm also not willing to spend any more on that particular gun. -

Had a good day at AWA with their new trenches. Took a couple of directs hits to the cheek but that's part of the fun. Think I've cemented my desire to get a DMR... Don't have the patience for sniping, but also not keen on hosing the undergrowth (ohh err). Certainly enjoyed lying in my 2 foxholes picking people off as they tried to capture the ammo dump. -
20210418_145552.mp4 Totally agree..... Cooking outside on gas? Yah big Jessie. Lighting a fire is not hard 🤣🤣🤣🔥👌 Brinkman make the best IMHO. This is one that just won't die.... Have a half barrel one at my brothers house that is great for smoking too with its little chimney. Love a good bbq I do. Silicone mats are great for not tearing stuff like fish, chicken and Sausages... That's my top tip for the weekend anyway.

Yeah - those are the ones I got along with some base plates. Decent replacements - got some valves from them too. Not a bad company to deal with. Very quick to respond to queries, although the replies are often "we just don't know when stock will arrive".

Consider us poor tradesmen that work in London.... 32 boroughs all with different parking rules and permit options. Classic one the other day was turning up for a job and ask the resident for a visitor permit. The reply was "we don't' have a car". FFS. It's for me!!!!!! A recent new fuckery is for them to place restrictions on entire roads so that you need a permit to actually drive down it. Obviously a local councillor or politician lives down there and they don't want the road used as a rat run. One upside is the invention of parking apps. That has made things easier for handling multiple vehicles moving around the city... Oh yeah - having to annually renew the auto pay for the congestion charge. Nothing has changed, yet they want £10 a vehicle. Including the electric ones that are exempt from the charge in the first place. Registering that was a fun time. You enter the registration plate and they know its 100%, but still have to send them a copy of the V5. Shame I didn't know about any of this when I took a courtesy car in for a couple of days and the garage got a load of fines through. I feel your Gggrrrrr LOL

The issue would be putting too many volts into a gun that doesn't have the guts that can take the extra oomph. Any aeg will work on any chemistry as long as the volts go with the gearbox.
-
Oh piss off LOL.... Well.... Yes... To be fair there have been a few ideas in my head that would benefit from one. The main problem is the strength and temperature resilience of the end product.
-
Well at least I know.... One less thing to hoard. Are you telling me that not only will I be spending hundreds on developing a pew pew collection... Hundreds more fueling and arming them.... Then hundreds more on fancy dress outfits to make me look like an overweight mean and nasty soldier.... But I'll then have to buy a sodding 3D printer to repair the fuckers because we can't reliably obtain parts? #ffs

Sorry... WE Glock 17.

Having just repaired two of my mags that had their followers snapped in two. And seeing as I had to wait for spares to get back in stock, and stock issues seems to be the norm.... Is it worth trying to glue the guffed ones back together? And what glue works best? I did try araldite, but it was no use. Tah in advance!

I can eat this stuff with a spoon. Lived with one lass who had a recipe that used it with noodles, and but that is just wrong. We get the catering tubs sometimes in Costco.

Reccomended sites in Peterborough area?

Eeewwwww Fuck that. -
Why sir, you appear to be pointing at the ground.

My nimh experiences are now limited to a few jigswaws, and an impact driver (now replaced with a lithium tool) and the boy's M16. Battery chemistry is an interesting topic, but especially now cars and houses are going to be the norm for using them. My car battery was cooked today after a run to Birmingham and back. I think some of the older chemistries will see a revival with home batteries, partly because of safety. We live in interesting times.
-
My original info came from a discussion I had with a power tool company when we were re-tooling and deciding to either move to the new lithium ion range of toys or stick with the nimh and just get new batteries. I suppose the guy could have been trying to shift old inventory, but we decided to move over anyway. Some of those lithium batteries are only now just starting to give up, and they have been abused in all sorts of ways; including being used as percussive maintenance implements. Still have a few nimh batteries powering some old tools (the ones we didn't use often enough to justify buying new versions of) that must be 16 years old now and still working. The NiCad ones are guffed though. Finally threw them out last year. As a side note, there are a lot of snide copies online, and it's a very mixed bag when it comes to capacity and runtime. Sometimes a lot worse than oem. Sometimes the same or betterer.

Old ones did, but new ones I was told, do not..... Had a quick Google to check and found this: Happy to be corrected though. Everyday is a school day.

I put a load of 1 litre bottles in the freezer to take with me last time, but the panic and rush of getting the lad sorted for his D of E expedition meant I forgot to take them. Ironically I was at Sentinel in Dunstable and his expedition site was less than 2 miles away, so there was no need to panic, nor get his mate's mum to take him. Nowt like proper planning eh? 🤣🤣🤣
