  1. When you're my size - it takes a lot of energy to lug my frame and equipment about. LOL.
  2. I'll take that offer dude. 👍 I've got a pair with fans in, but they're mahoosive things with crappy battery connectors and they make me look like something out of Daft Punk.
  3. Oh - he has no idea. especially as tomorrow is his last day at Army Cadets - and I had an interesting chat with his CO last night.
  4. Shame, we're at AWA for the boy's last UK game. Reforger is a good site, take your own lunch though because the burger van is minging. Burgers should not crunch when you bite into them.
  5. It was a less strict version of Shift Your Rifts. Similar to AWA's Big Skirm.
  6. The Dyslexic in me made sense of it straight away - perhaps the responder has a similarly operating mind. Yes it should have been clearer, but it's hardly Apple Corp or Tesco type organisations we're dealing with. Mind you, I spot typo's in all sorts of website sites and publications. Hell, I sent a letter from my son's school back with red marks on the errors with a post-it saying that we should expect better from a Grade 1 Ofsted listed school. I wasn't very popular. 😁
  7. REDCON 2 Pics have landed too.... Epic battle to hold Echo Base: Which involved me scrambling around back and forth across a track Medicing teammates under fire (my knees are paying for it today): At one point I was on my tod: The boy at one point went off with another squad to do an objective at the Lynx: Turns out Blues pipped us to the victory overall by a couple of points - although we had three dud mortar rounds; which was a bit harsh LOL. My only real criticism would be too much hanging around in the safe zone. I reckon we could have had at least one extra game, maybe two.
  8. Yay - got some decent snaps from Saturday - wonder what we'll get for Sunday.
  9. Looking at the assembly it is pretty impressive in terms of what they have put in there and how it works - just a shame that some of that plastic is so vulnerable. On top of that, I guess, unlike cars, there is nowhere near enough numbers involved to make it worth the while of someone designing an alternative mechanism or making a pattern option. Wonder what it would take to fabricobble something together using the existing trigger and spring and selector lever with something like a Perun?
  10. Me too. I feel a total cnut otherwise. I think Reforger play it as a rule.... But it's a matter of honour really. We've lost mags, even guns... They've always been handed in, and I think that makes airsoft special as does the friendly banter in the safe zone. That was something I should have mentioned about Saturday at High Wycombe. We had a marvellous chat with some Aussies on a 6 month world tour.
  11. Ricochet shouldn't count. Friendly fire should, but I also believe that the offender should be the one to respawn if its clear who did it.
  12. I have an MTP Osprey MK4 I am thinking of selling. No spare pouches but two side panels and Brassards It's one of the largest sizes.
  13. I could certainly do it over regular skirnishes anyday.
  14. Cracking couple of days airsofting. Took my mate and his two boy's out for their second all day session at High Wycombe Skirmish. Pissed down nearly the whole day, but it didn't dampen (arf) the fun. Really good BBQ lunch too. Nothing particulary outstanding about the games, but our favourite was the last one where the winning team was the one with their coloured hoop on the pole in the little village set up at the end. Today, despite being knackered from yesterday, the boy and I got up at 5:30 to get to REDCON 2 for their Battlesim Lite - and for me to defeat my tooth loosing demons. 😔 (More dental work needed as the repair failed after three days). Anyway, three teams of 30ish with a list of objectives, a few mortars, a Snatch landrover, and a people carrier at their disposal for an all day mission, including eating out in the field. Muggins here volunteered to be one of the two medics, meaning I had a box to hump around with medical bracelets to hand out. Thankfully, I was in my plate carrier with the collars fitted otherwise my neck would be in shreds - although by lunch I had decided to have a load of the bracelets on one wrist for rapid deployment. Each team also had a player Marshall as team leader who was actively competting for their team - we had Costus (spelling?) who was running around like a mad thing coordinating squads and making sure we did our best to acheive the list of objectives. Objectives varied from holding a position for 20 minutes, disabling a vehicle by inserting an EMP device, stealing a USB drive, stealing an ID card from the opposition leader and mortaring an opponent's FOB - amongst others. A 900 round limit/3 high caps for Riflemen also kept things nicely balanced between being able to keep engagements going, but keeping your mind on limited ammo. It was a great laugh buzzing around in a Snatch landrover, with a turret gunner (we had two LMGs on our side) heading to a combat zone and jumping out the back under fire. Certainly makes you admire more, the guys in the armed forces having to go into hot zones in those things!!! Our team struggled a bit in the morning, down to communication and not fully working as a team - however, the afternoon session saw us much more cohesive and we nailed objectives pretty consistently - they haven't announced the overall winners yet - but I think we migh have done it. The boy and I were also getting the hang of being able to communicate over longer distances with our new headsets - and being able to speak (partially for me) in Japanese meant that the couple of dude's on the Red team who happened to be on the same channel couldn't be Sneaky Bois by listening in. It was also a buzz to have team members coming up and thanking us medics for keeping them in the game all day. The old smart watch is saying I've run nearly 14 miles over the two days. All in all, it is a great field, and the marshalls know the crack. It's a shame it's a 3 hour round trip for us. The Battlesim format looks to be a regular thing going forward, and they said they were going to listen to the ideas the players were suggesting at the end of the day, not that anything needed fixing. There's a two day event in October that I am definelty planning on attending. Pics when they post them.
  15. You sir, are a scholar and a gentleman. If you are not a Sir, please insert your own choices of pleasantry and gratitude. 👍😀
  16. Took it out and can't see anything broken... But then, I don't truly know what I looking for. I did remove some random fluff that I was hoping was blocking the mechanism, but no such luck. Was thinking of Swapping out the boy's mechanism and seeing if the fault followed, but I haven't 9tbe energy. Early start in the morning. 😰
  17. Firesupport have the mechanism for £28, which I think is fairly reasonable cost wise. I'm assuming the hardest part is reconnecting the selector rod? Yeah, I might have been a little heavy handed with it that morning.
  18. I couldn't see anything a miss with that, but as someone said in another thread, it's a bit of a Rube Goldberg setup, so I might have missed something. Do you know what goes on it? It is pretty chunky. This one is pretty new too. But then, the follow on question.... Is there an aftermarket option with mosfet?
  19. Particularly in semi, where it does it every time now, but increasingly in full auto. When you pull the trigger, in semi, it fires once. Then it's like a magnetic holding it back against the trigger housing. Push it forward manually and it will fire again, with the same result. In full auto it's less pronounced. If you disconnect the battery, the trigger action is perfectly normal. Is it the gearbox overspinning? I have tried a lower voltage battery, and putting the spring on its middle setting, but no difference. The only thing that's been adjusted was the motor height. Tah in advance !
  20. Ffs, now I have to watch Aliens again. Sad times. 😄
  21. Yeah they seemed OIK when we had a test chat with half a mile of houses between us. the ear pierce mics are a little pooh, but for £30 delivered you can't expect too much.
  22. Pretty much what I did.... Left my Specna with it's own mosfet, and got the DE as a spare/loaner purely because it had an ETU and was cheap. Resisting the urge to do anything to it as it works fine, although the ROF is a little lacking.
  23. The new rules are a bit of a PITA. Flying the Inspire 1 can be stressful even with all the software, simply because it is a big bastard with big ass blades.
