So I ran the ugl on my WE G36K for 1 day, and it came off after the first game 😂 The JG needs modifying for it to fit, i.e the "pins" need filing down. It's a proper sturdy UGL to be honest, but just a lot of excess weight that I personally didn't like. Same with the L85 UGL, it was so heavy it negated the recoil of the GBBR.

I don’t think it identifies as a carbine any more 😂 Probably the most problematic build I’ve had, but it’s finally done! Umarex G36C with a custom barrel extension (It’s about .4” too long 😬) Kurz style gas block, Ultima H-Key rail, SOTAC (I believe) EOTech and magnifier and a LLM when it arrives. Stock needs drilling to fit as the Umarex one isn’t correct for the impression, hence it just “resting” and the fire selector markings need removing and replaced with the “SEF” Reference attached, Luftlandeaufklärungskompanie 260

From what I've been reading, the G&G G2 gearbox is slightly larger and uses a proprietary gear set. There's also work needed inside of the gearbox shell to fit something like a gate titan. Is the above true, and if yes, how likely is it that I could fit a standard v2 gearbox shell into an SR15? I've heard a lot of good things about the standard G&G G2 but I like options 😂

Doesn't cyma also have a serial number stamped on the trigger guard or mag well?

Haha unfortunately so. My z-tac replicas lasted the longest, almost a year. The ones I linked above have already surpassed them and have 0 signs of wearing out any time soon!

Honestly, get the real things. I've had 3 of the repro ones, all have sucked massively. Finally caved and got real steel, haven't looked back since. They actually fit correctly too, lots of the repros sit too tight and aren't very comfortable. Wait, you guys clean your barrels? But normally, yes ideally I’d remove the barrel from the replica unless like above it’s some god awful process of a whole disassembly to get to it.

Update re Thompson: I got a call from the tech this morning I asking me to pop down, and he’s got it all working as should be minus from the semi/auto like we discussed. So overall, I have a “working” Thompson but think I’ll look at getting a king arms to replace it eventually.

Being able to pull the trigger and the gearbox not locking up, contact resistance and a good trigger response. Nothing special

9/10 if I stick a nuprol battery in one of my replicas with a gate titan it throws up errors after a little while of use, same as my fathers with different batteries (still nuprol)

I used a dmr for the first time ever yesterday and I must admit, I caught myself a few times flinging more BB's than I should have at the start of the first game. It took a bit of mental work to make sure I only sent one bb down range at a time, however personally I found once I had got into a routine of the timing it soon became almost muscle memory! The play style was rather fun too, it was nice to change up the pace from normal running and gunning.
