  1. Hey guys, I wanted to do a quick review of the Type 89 “Mortar” I picked up from a seller on here. I was looking for the Craft Apple Works version for some time with no luck, so when I saw these listed I knew I had to grab one. Overall the “mortar” (which I will call it going forwards because it’s easier to type than “Grenade Discharger) feels sturdy and seems to be put together well. It uses propriety “TLSFx”/“FBS” rounds (https://www.dkarmaments.co.uk/product/mortar-single-bang-38mm-round/) which are rather pricey. Having used the smoke rounds before, they leave a lot to be desired in terms of coverage. Some bad points on this replica: (which I am by no means knocking, however want to point out) • For the cost, it is overall rather basic. It may purely be me being nitpicky however the lack of a dummy “cocking” handle and cut out for the spring like on the real thing was rather disappointing. • The finish paint on the product is very thin, and has worn off from contact against my Type 98 airsoft replica leaving a metallic silver shining through. I will end up refinishing it for reenactment down the line no doubt. I haven’t used any pyro in the mortar yet, however the “grenade” is the important part so there shouldn’t be any problems. The replica feels very sturdy however, and is definitely strong enough to withstand knocks and bangs from use. I think from a distance it’s ideal for reenactors, and absolutely perfect for airsoft use where every detail doesn’t have to be 100%. Overall personal thoughts: If you’re looking for a unique mortar, this definitely fits the bill. I would have liked it to feature more authentic design with a mock cocking handle and spring. The price falls in line with the 38mm Para (Retailing at £330 with 5 shells), being sold at £180. It’s definitely going to be useful for reenactment, however airsoft use will depend on events. For your average skirmish it could hold it’s own however £8 a shell it’ll drain your bank account in no time 😂 Note: This is my first time posting a review, so it may be an absolute mess… 😅
  2. Rules state only airsoft replicas for sale bud. Shame though, if this was 6mm I'd of loved it 😂
  3. Update: S&T with Titan v3 is FUBAR. Even cutting out most of the gearbox where it sits still wasn’t enough. I’m going to move the mosfet over to a JG as a test fit went smoothly. One other benefit is JG parts are easier to get ahold of.
  4. So I bought a titan v3 to fit into my S&T MG36 as I run it pretty hard and want some preventive measures. Upon opening up the gearbox, there’s a lot of material that I would need to remove to fit the Titan. Has anybody managed to fit the titan into an S&T? Is the material removal fine to do? I’ve already removed a small chunk to test so no going back really anyway 😬
  5. Or the PTS EPM-G (disregarding price 😂) https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/pts-syndicate-epm-g-enhanced-polymer-aeg-mid-cap-magazine which fit into m4 pouches, go directly into the g36 and feeds beautiful. They fit and feed, from my experience in: S&T JG Cyma Ares/VFC/Umarex GSG
  6. Picked up a M16A4 from a friend today for a good price, ordered an E&C M16A2 receiver with burst engraved, genuine M16 triangle for an M203, as well as an M203 and old school heat shield. Also bought a Gate Aster to have the burst mode. All of this because I watched Generation Kill again.
  7. Damn, that’s beautiful. Wish I had the funds! 😍

  9. Update just in case somebody has the same issue as me: The switch to go to IR Laser mode wasn’t fully engaging with just gentle turning, so giving it a little extra force (Not too much it breaks though!) got it into the slot and alas, IR laser.
  10. I have a (what I believe is a pre 2016) Element LLM01 which says it has an IR Laser. The problem I’ve ran into is that pressing the left/right only activates the IR flashlight, and the main button is visible flashlight. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong, hopefully somebody that knows the unit more might have an answer? 😂 Also before anybody mentions it, no I’m not running the laser at games. Just bedroom larping 😂
  11. You should probably list everything that's been done, with brands for each part as well.
  12. Yeah, I’m aware of the maxx. Had bad experiences with their m4 versions in the past so I’m trying to find one in the UK that I can send it back if I run into another bad one.
  13. Hey guys. I bought an Umarex G36C from here, but wasn’t keen on the burst mode and ares EFCS so I’ve switched out the lower with an S&T gearbox. Changing the gearbox also meant changing the hop unit (There’s a slight variation between the ares & S&T) which is all well and good but I don’t think it’ll last too long. Now to move onto the problem I’m having: I can’t find an aftermarket hop unit that’s metal, and works with an S&T. Anybody know of any that are an improvement? 😬 I’m aware of the maxx GST but I can’t find one anywhere sadly
  14. Hey bud, what brand is this repro?
  15. Props to you man! By no means the worst thing in Mack’s 😂
  16. £30 brand new, in that condition I’d pay a tenner, £15 max personally. Did make me double check when I read it saying excellent condition with the screws looking like they came out of WWI
  17. Looking at getting a new GBBR... Really like the look of the KWA F90, but the upgradeability and aftermarket parts for an MWS is also very tempting. So many options with an MWS too like a classic M4A1 or a MK18 etc.

If you (The reader) was in my position, which would you go with? 😅😂

Anything but an M4. That gun is so boring.

Personally I'd buy the new Kriss Vector and run it on HPA drum mag. 😈

It's a TM High Cycle AEG.  Great little gun, shoots about 20rps off a 7.4v which is great.  I changed the bucking and it lobs .28s very nicely in spite of the lowish FPS

  18. Yeah I have some of his HK stickers, last time I asked he wasn’t able to produce them sadly.
  19. I just recently bought Krylon “camo” as Halfords was out of stock. Personally I prefer Halfords, goes on better and dries better. I also prefer the colours of the Halfords paint. The far away dusting is a good idea though, I may have to try that!
  20. To HPA a GBBR, you’d need a “tap” that goes into the magazines and replaces the gas port. It’s essentially a replacement for green gas. The grip ones are usually AEG, which involves an “engine”. By no means an expert though!
  21. Yeah I had a feeling they were, thankfully airsoft ones are just printed on (it seems). The printing idea is a great shout, I might have to give it a try
  22. Sorry if it’s not the right place to ask, not really sure where else to put it… I’m looking to replace the “export” markings on my G36 build to the “SEF” version. I’m rather stumped on where to look to acquire the correct font/size decals, or what to even look for. Anybody done this, or know where to find any decals? I measured the markings on my AG36 UGL and they’re 3mm. I found some similar but they’re 6mm and no good.
  23. I can grab some for you tomorrow if I remember haha. I took everything out of the upper receiver until all that was left was literally the barrel (And upper), and looking down from behind the barrel (Where the hop up would be etc) there is a thread where the actual barrel is. Tried turning it CW/CCW with no movement at all so I figured I'd give up. I asked the guy who made a youtube video on building the C to a K (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKO0DfAnYEc&t=212s) and he also used barrel extensions, which I'm assuming is due to him running into the same issue as mine.
