Unfortunately ti reccomended a particular pistol I'd say we need more information. How often will it be used? Is it going to be used as a primary or spend 99% of the time in a holster? Also what's your budget? There no point in us suggesting high end expensive guns if they're out of your price range.

Room inspections and monitoring student's internet usage isn't a new thing. They had them when I was at uni living in halls and that was 25 years ago. They didn't do them often but they certainly happened. I know internet use was also monitored as there was a known case of a student being caught and arrested for looking up underage girls. Airsoft probably gets flagged as firearms related content

I've played at Bunker 51 a few times on their mid week evening games and have enjoyed it. I've heard some people complain it gets too crowded at weekend games and as it's a small site so I can fully believe it

As others have posted, it's probably going to be against the uni's t&cs to keep rifs in halls of residence. The society should be able to advise you on alternatives. Welcome. The best way to get started is to book a game at a local site. Check out https://playairsoft.uk/ to find sites in your area. As for what to buy I recommend renting for your first 3 games as the site will provide you with a gun and face protection so all you'll need to have is decent footwear (many outdoor sites insist you wear boots not trainers as they provide less grip the risk of twisting your ankle is far higher). There are laws governing the sale of airsoft guns so without a site membership you'll be stuck with having to buy a brightly coloured 2 tone gun (assuming you're 18 or over). Renting also means you'll be able to get a better idea of what suits you
