  1. Will do 😃 May be a while though as i dont know how often i will use them compared to all my other guns. I hope to see you there, and seeing what "weird crap", as you call it, that you bring along 😃
  2. details are in this thread. i paid my green fee earlier today. as for the commission, i definately want to get a holster made, but would prefer if i could drop the gun off in person
  3. @HuttArmouries will you be attending the AFUK meetup? (all going well of course) if so i will bring the mateba along with me, as i still need to get a holster made for it, and i know we spoke about it last year before things went completely crazy... (if you are still open to making the holster of course 😃 )
  4. perhaps, it depends on postage and customs... plus finding a suitable crossdraw holster
  5. that can be arranged 😃 true, but that is something that i will be putting together over the next few months, as aside from the AFUK meetup, i dont expect to be attending too many CQB games over the early part of this year
  6. thank you for your reply. i asked the question as i saw on firesupports website on one of the red tracer bb pages that some tracers would not light up red tracers, before recommending an ASG tracer, hence my noob question... never used tracers before
  7. im a bloke, so that wont be happening XD but i will be getting a cross draw holster so i can use them as a matching pair in CQB i WILL however be putting together a Togusa cosplay to go along with the Mateba revolver i own, (and yes, complete with mullet wig =P)
  8. give it time... im sure you will cave, just as i did... =P
  9. well, my new years resolution to not buy any more airsoft stuff (aside from consumables) has already been broken.... bought a number of things from airsoft atlanta... -multiple patches, (mostly WeaponsGradeWaifu patches) - Armourer works Glock type drum mag for my AAP-01 (nowhere in UK has one in stock that i can see) -MAXX ME hop unit with built in tracer -dead rag in pouch i also found the WE limited edition Black lagoon M92 pistols in stock with a supplier in hong kong, so i have bought 2 along with 4 spare mags.
  10. hi guys. may be a bit of a noob question. i have just bought this hop unit with built in tracer unit: https://www.airsoftatlanta.com/products/maxx-model-me-pro-hop-up-chamber-m4-aeg-w-led-tracer and i was wondering if anyone had experience with this unit, or if anyone knows whether the tracer unit would illuminate red tracer BBs. my plan is to run a mix of my usual valkyrie .25 non tracers with a few red tracer BBs mixed in to aid in ranging etc as well as running red tracers t be able to differentiate from other tracers as most people at the sites i frequent (those who use tracers) all use green tracers. if not then i will have to use green as well. i am already looking at ASG blasters or Nuprol RZR red. thank you in advance
  11. depends on your budget. and i can only offer opinions on the guns i currently on, but my nuprol pioneer defender (approx £110) works well enough for me in both CQB and outdoors out of the box. my one has had a M105 spring and a new hop bucking fitted and runs beautifully with .25s. i also recently ran my totally stock TM P90 (approx £280) and it had really impressive range on it for such a compact weapon (i didnt measure it out, but i estimate about 40-50 metres...) my SMC-9 is a good gun if you want to look at gas blowback guns around the £250 mark, however i only ran my one once at an outdoors site as a secondary that only fired a few shots, so i cannot really offer a good opinion on it compared to the p90 in terms of performance, but in terms of size its only a little larger than a p90, but the magazines are a little harder to come by
  12. well, i now have a dillema... beginning of this month, the black AAP and rail sets i ordered from wgcshop arrived, as well as the folding stock i ordered from airsoftworld.... then i went to an airsoft game and entered the raffle run by Onlyairsoft as part of their onsite shop, and i won a tan AAP.... what to do? do i keep both and alternate? do i set one as a carbine and keep one as a pistol? do i sell one?
  13. i really want to go back to HMP Gloucester, it was the first airsoft site I ever played back in February of this year, my brother having finally twisted my arm to giving airsoft a try.... and I was immediately hooked, lol (this time though i will make sure to have a torch on my gun... plenty of dark areas inside the prison as I recall) and if you move a bit further north, I can highly recommend giving RIFT a try, especially their redcon 2 site in Abingdon.
  14. as a regular player at RIFT sites, i can report that they do indeed have that rule in place, and they also enforce "mags out, weapons clear" before entering the safezone. players have to dry fire 3 times in front of marshal before allowed to enter the safezone. oh i have been on the recieving end of those calls all too often. nearly always from players whos shots are falling short, and a couple that flew wide. worst one was a couple of weeks ago. i was playing at a site and defending the flag at a pumphouse building, and was inside a room where the window looking in the direction of the enemy spawn is up high, and has steps built up in front of it to allow people to step up to the window to fire, and then step down or duck either side of the window to avoid return fire, all while being inside a darkened room. ricochets and weapon hits don't count. so im stood by the window and firing at enemies as they approach and i have incoming fire, so im popping up, firing a burst, then ducking back into cover. enemy fire is mostly dropping short, and there are only a few shots that do manage to reach my position, but are visibly ricocheting off the window or the sandbags on the window sill, yet i still have several of the enemy team shouting at me to "take your f*****g hits"... fortunately for me, the head marshal is outside the building while patroling the game area, and shouts that hes watching their shots fall short, and verifies that the few shots that did make it to my position were ricocheting around the small window and not hitting me directly. one player claimed that hes watching his tracer bbs bounce off me, and had to be corrected that his shot trajectories were hitting the sandbags first, and then bouncing up into the room, and not only that, but i wasnt even stood at the window when he fired at me... because the marshal saw me through the doorway, in cover below the window level reloading my P90, so there was no way he was watching tracers bounce off me. still... i just shrugged it off that they were simply pissed off that i had such a good position, that i was able to hold the pumphouse solo for around 30 mins and stop them from capturing the flag... and that i had a killstreak long enough that if it were call of duty i could have called in a nuke =P this... very much this.
  15. @Robert James sorry for not replying sooner, i got your DM and replied there too.... dont know why i didnt get a notification when i was tagged though. it will just be me attending, and assuming i keep my current shift pattern, i will be able to attend without taking any holiday 😃 send me payment details via DM and i can pay up.. no hire required
  16. Voted. If i am eligible to attend, i would like to meet and put faces to names, and also check out all the cool guns everyone has, T̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶i̶ ̶c̶a̶n̶t̶ ̶a̶f̶f̶o̶r̶d̶ and have some fun to try and forget the trainwreck that is 2020. I would need plenty of advance notice so that i could try and work around shift patterns, as i start a new job next week and i will need to try and work around my new shift pattern.
  17. Never served, nor would i be brave enough to sign up... As far as i, and many airsofters i have met (serving, former military and civilian only) are concerned, there is no issue in wearing any patches/emblems as long as you dont claim to be something you are not, as most people know that 99% of airsofters have never served. I have had a couple of people ask me where i served etc due to patches and equipment i use, but i never claim to have served nor would i. One was a kid asking me if i was a commando because my MTP UBAC shirt had commando patches on the sleeves... my answer was simply "no, the shirt came with the patches already sewn on, and i just cant be arsed to remove them" Another serving member asked me where i served to be issued with my virtus helmet, to which i replied that it was an ebay purchase from a military surplus shop. TL,DR dont make false claims, and there shouldnt be any issue with you wearing whatever you want for plastic pew-pewing
  18. only fielded my rifle twice, so still trying to work out its range limits. i regularly carry my john wick hi cappa as a sidearm, but if i can find a decent sling to carry it on my back, i may use my p90 as a backup. most of my gear is ex-british army MTP including my osprey plate carrier, and i do have a some knee/elbow pads i did manage to get one kill with the rifle last weekend, though it was more luck than judgement... still proud of it though. and havent had anyone give me the "i almost bought one" speech... but i definately had most of the players on site drooling over the gun... including some of the marshalls... XD
  19. hi guys, probably a stupid question, but as the title suggests, i am looking for any tips to help me perform as a better sniper. i know about ghillie suits, however im not going to invest in one just yet. i normally play as an assault/ rifleman role, but i am looking to be able to carry out sniper support roles at some of the sites i play at. my sniper rifle is the ARES WA2000 that is unmodified (yet) and currently shooting valkyrie .32g bbs (but will probably look at heavier bbs once the rifle is bedded in or valkyrie release heavier bbs) im looking for any tips regarding loadout, modifications i can do to my rifle etc. also wondering if it would be worth investing in a rangefinder, or would it be a waste of time/money
  20. well, i have ended up spending WAY too much the last few weeks... i bought the tag rounds and shells that @DanRunham listed in the classifieds a couple of weeks ago ready for RIFT airsofts milsim event... but that has now been cancelled thanks to the latest from the government 😡 i also went to my airsoft supplier (combatuk / onlyairsoft in stevenage) to stock up on grenades and bbs... and i ended up buying a new gun.... ARES WA2000 plus nuprol scope... and scope riser to get proper sight picture
  21. already got some abbey 35 oil for my airguns, and i will look into using it on the sten, but i think the manual may be a typo as the steel looks to be "blued", which in itself is a corrosion inhibitor, but i may be wrong i do have a p37 webbing harness and a pair of pouches, but to be able to skirmish the sten i will need more mags, and thus more pouches (or even the bandolier) but with money so tight at the moment, i wont be buying anything much for a few months
  22. im still waiting for mine. nowhere in UK had any, so i ordered from wgcshop in taiwan along with rail sets for mounting a red dot, but they have been out of stock since earlier this year. sent them a message to chase them up, and waiting to hear back from them
  23. have you looked at soldier of fortune? they seem to have a couple of sten parts for sale including skeleton stocks. given that the northeast sten is made to the same dimensions as the real steel, these should fit... https://www.sofmilitary.co.uk/sten-gun-no3-mk1-skeleton-stock.html https://www.sofmilitary.co.uk/skeleton-rear-pistol-grip-for-sten-gun.html as for anti corrosion, i havent added anything to the gun myself, and i dont believe the previous owner did either, and while i havent noticed any rust forming on it,i am looking into what anti corrosion products would be suitable i only got the sten a couple of weeks ago from the classifieds here, and havent skirmished it yet as i need to get more mags and suitable mag pouches for the 37 pattern webbing
  24. @B.S awesome loadout pics, and once i have some more money i intend on making my own ww2 loadout, most likely british airborne troops at arnhem. I have a mk2 sten i bought recently through the classifieds, and i had the same issue with loading the mags.... until i saw a video from northeast themselves that show them using a speed loader. They hold a finger either side of the feed lips to keep bbs from popping out either side and then use the speed loader to force the bbs straight down through the top of the feed lips into the magazine. Its a bit fiddly, but its less of a ballache than loading 32 bbs by hand Pic of my sten included below, posing besides james hollands new book i acquired last week. Im also wondering if there is a way to get a barrel assembly seperate as a spare part, so i can get the end of the outer barrel machined out. That way i can fit a longer inner barrel to use with the mock suppressor
