Hello you lovely chaps, Hopefully someone has a G&P WA spec receiver set that they're looking to get rid of? Only thing I'm not interested in is the Salient Arms style. Ali

    £99

  2. I think the wounds are fatal, we might be able to convince the real thing to come next year I’m in the purple shirt and shorts
  3. There was an issue with over shooting, look what happened to one of our friends after he didn’t put his hand up to call a hit
  4. Proprietary parts, I’d avoid Maybe I’m biased based on my experience with my rather sloppy SSP1. I documented my journey of getting my SSP to TM performance so you can read some of the pitfalls and QC issues I had - If you’re after a HiCapa, buy a TM
  5. Jack Acaster at AirsoftEngraver. Top bloke and great work Hes done my AAP and one of my KC02’s so far, I’ll be sending another KC his way soon
  6. Gotta chime in and say my experience of the Vorsk bios is that they’re absolutely terrible. My favourite site changed to bio only and offer them as the bundle bb’s but they aren’t even round and had crazy seam lines. Definition of cheap and nasty. BLS and the brands they OEM for are always reliable bets - Geoffs, Longbow etc
  7. I'll be there as part of the mighty team Saustrich with our fearsome arsenal of all things 10/22. We're on Delta, what are you guys booked onto?
  8. JG not-dragunov back in 2006 or so, upgraded to a SRC (yuck) AKMSU later that year and then stuck the gearbox in a (who remembers this one) Unicorn AKs74u kit in 2008 or 2009. Brushing the dust of the Unicorn got me back into the game a few years ago
  9. The buffers I only use on my go-to indoor gun that I run exclusively on HPA. I’ve got the CCT ones but I’d be surprised if there was any functional difference between brands. Running 120% recoil springs and 3 short stroke buffers utter destroys gas efficiency… I can’t even get a mag out of the Battlecat in this set up! It makes for a very snappy gun on HPA though My other two capas are used as sidearms and I value the lock back on empty feature over a marginal decrease in cycling time
  10. Good morning! I think it’s only the DIR variant that uses the newer 15mm system. If you’re already in on a Airsoft Masterpiece slide, I’d be inclined to look at either a AM BBU or the CCT one at some point. I’ve got a couple of the CCT ones in my Limcats and theyre great for efficiency thanks to the porting on the piston. Having said that, my Infinity build uses an AM BBU and both the recoil and cold weather performance always seems better, possibly it allows the valve to stay open longer? That being said, the Guarder lightweight bbu is in no way going to be a step backward and should make a noticeable difference to cycling speed with the new slide installed. My only experience with the Guarder nozzle was rather brief, the loading ramp disintegrated within a days play! I wouldn’t judge all of them on my own limited experience but I’ll personally be sticking to TM/AIP/Edge for replacement nozzles
  11. Getting stuff clean and organised for Sunday. There’s no such thing as too many pews

@Krisz I’ve tried to destroy a plastic TM capa slide out of morbid curiousity using Guarder Black gas at UK indoor temperatures. The 4.3 slide was fine and the world didn’t end. I wouldn’t recommend doing it long term but I don’t think they’re as fragile as the internet has lead you to believe. Source - I’m pretty passionate about my Hi capas and you can follow some of my builds on my making the Novristch SSP less shameful thread. The people that you’re butting heads with on this forum have used and abused the pews they’re talking about and the advice on here is nothing less than stellar
  13. You’re exactly right. A little bit of material on the front side of it will allow it to close earlier, reducing the output power a bit. It’ll be very sensitive to the size of the shim used, so start small and see what the results are
  14. I’d say the best way, that won’t affect your blowback, would be to glue a sliver of material to the front of the rocket valve so it shuts fractionally earlier. That ought to bump you down to site limits Try a 1mm plastic washer or similar
  15. Lurks in smaller than pistol calibre DMR. Mind you, if it’s good enough for the Israeli defence force, it’s good enough for me 689DEB9D-B1B7-4767-8323-93724441560D.webp
  16. Bothering to tech your own gun is all about competitive advantage. With either a sniper or DMR role, the competitive advantage is the higher kinetic energy allowed that WILL carry a pellet further (if we assume that the pellet weight and hop rubber are constants). The disadvantage is that you are forsaking fully automatic fire for this privilege. Whilst a semi-locked pew with a good hop unit, rubber, barrel and good consistency will send a pellet a good distance, you’ve no longer really got a range advantage over anyone with a decent bucking and a fun switch. In short, you may find the experience quite frustrating as you’re sprayed by aeg players. My shortest KC02 is a 1.1J semi auto build. It reaches plenty far with a Rogueworx tdc hop unit and Maple leaf Autobot but it simply doesn’t offer me the advantage that my DMR build with the same hop set up firing at 1.8j does. TL:DR If 1.13j is the limit, by all means make as consistent a pew with a good hop system but don’t get rid of your full auto capability if it’s an aeg
  17. Clean the barrel and hop rubber, see if the issue has gone away. if it persists, check how the hop rubber is sitting on the barrel and that it’s central. You should be able to see if the contact patch is in the centre of the barrel’s rebate. If that was central and everything is clean, it’s likely the hop arm is slightly deformed and putting more pressure on the near side of the bb than the far side. This can be remedied by bending it back into shape to give equal pressure on both sides of the bb.
  18. Mrs McD has used 4.5” of 2” wide Velcro on either end so there’s a good amount of adjustability and even with just an inch of contact, they take some force to fall off
  19. What are the odds? I was whingeing about the residue from the tape yesterday so my wife is making me and my little group some bands! As you can see, there’s two sizes. The smaller ones are 19” long to get around my arms. The bigger ones are an enormous 25.5” for the absolute units that I play with! We used my skinny little legs as a guide for the bigger ones…
  20. Once you cut the tang off the back of the KC02 receiver, they’ll fit in just about any 10/22 stock. Heres a selection of what I’ve fart arsed around with so far
  21. Thought it was probably worth a shout out to the guys running Red Alert Newbury. Down there last Sunday and had an absolute blast. Great marshalling team who were not only actively keeping an eye on things but plenty in number. Chrono guys actually understand joules and are strict when it comes to questionable or borderline pews. Didn’t have any issues with cheaters, didn’t get hosed and I had another awesome day of play. I wilted as the day went on and called it quits at about 4 - it was just too hot! almost forgot, Chili con carne for lunch was delicious! Top marks
  22. I cheated on this picture. It’s a Cyma 130rd MP5 mag but it’s just stuck in the magwell… Normally there’s a little HPA adaptor between the two called a Tanuki. You can see it here with a different one of my KC02’s and different MP5 mag just peeking out under the stock edit: found a better picture of what a Tanuki is
  23. Royal Mail finally turned up. Metal AAP upper back from Airsoft Engraver and looking fine! Can’t thank Jack enough for his help, highly recommended
