  1. Cleaned out the trigger box, the grease inside had gone quite dark. Disconnector action is much snappier now Its a bit of a faff to get the valve knocker spring seated back on the pin it goes on! That would have been much easier with a third hand. There’s doubtless a technique to doing it that I just haven’t picked up yet
  2. For now, as long as it works, it’ll be fine. As you say, I can adjust velocity via my regulator. Before I disassembled, I did run a few rounds through the chrono with Red gas. With the original 250mm barrel, it was 400,390,380fps/0.2 as the mag cooled. The 380mm barrel on the way is obviously going to push that significantly higher and the RW nozzle/piston combo should be more efficient so I might get away with the reg set at 85ish psi. in an ideal world, it’ll be great if I can get it consistent, giving 450/0.2eqv whilst lifting 0.43g at 95psi as that’s what I run my pistols at... Testing will commence later this week! In more news, the paint job on the receiver and barrel has comes out rather well and the tired, scuffed finish is no more.
  3. Once I can find somewhere that carries them, I think that’s exactly what I’ll do Heres the offending item in my patented “bag bits from the same part of the gun up until you’re so familiar with the insides that you can Chuck it all in a box together” technique Edit - tangential thought, in the background is a trusty FPS conversion table. Yesterday at site, I couldn’t believe I was hearing someone argue with a Marshall, having failed chrono as they could grasp that a 0.28@350 wasn’t the same as a 0.2@350. Do they not teach maths or physics in school anymore?
  4. Following a complete disassembly, it appears that the previous owner fitted an aftermarket rocket valve, presumably to reduce the output as he was running C02. I think it’s the RA-Tech one? I’ll post a picture in a bit. It’s got a few small metal discs on the end of it, I’m assuming that changing the mass affects the power? Anyone fitted or using one of these? KJW aren’t shipping spares at the moment due to the ol’Rona so I’ll have to get everything working with this valve for now. In more news, shipping confirmation for a parcel containing almost everything Rogueworx make
  5. I went back to the van earlier to check my messages in between games and saw! The Battlecat 4.3 is finally happening Had an awesome game today, my Capas were behaving beautifully. The AW drum mag I bought seems to have a slow leak somewhere, nothing a bit of grease can’t solve
  6. Looks messier on the photo than it is in the flesh. Mags are done! Now it’s a waiting game for stuff to arrive. Geek-wise, the shopping list so far is: Rogueworx Genesis hop up and nozzle RW Piston RW Bolt RW charging handle RW barrel spacers RW mag release Boyds Blaster stock Maple Leaf 380mm barrel ML Decepticon 60 The previous owner had already switched out the hammer and sear for the MAG steel parts, so whilst I’d love to fiddle with it, the trigger box is done for now. I’m replacing the mag release as the current one seems a bit worn and the mags flap about a bit! Resprayed the barrel and receiver before I left work. Have to wait until Monday to see if I did a half decent job. Scuffs are at least all covered up now!
  7. I saw a post on Arnies by RenegadeCow where he had used this stock. It was a work of art. I couldn’t figure out what the base pew was but I knew I wanted one. Happened across Rogueworx and there it was. Doesn’t even seem like it’s going to be a tricky build (he says tempting fate)
  8. Nope (although that would be pretty cool) it’s getting a Boyds Blaster I think they’re gorgeous and that’s all that matters!
  9. The gun is a bit vanilla at the moment. Won’t be the case for long. On to the mags, broke them down to their simplest and drilled a 4mm hole in the back. Tapped it with (can’t remember bit) and voila! Going to JB weld the bottoms and they should be pretty much done. Ive removed the part that pierces the bulbs btw and swapped out the outlet valves for normal gas mag ones, so they should behave fairly predictably
  10. Good morning people! I’d been looking for an excuse to have a crack at one of these for a while and when a used KC-02 came up in the classifieds; well, I thought it would be rude not to. I’ve got a week coming up where my (much) better half is going to see her parents so I’ve gone ahead and ordered an enormous amount of stuff to arrive between now and then to capitalise on being able to work in the house and not the garage! The used rifle had clearly had some loving but she’s going to get a whole new lease of life over the next couple of weeks. If you’ve built one before, PLEASE step in to tell me when I’m doing something arse-backwards. If you haven’t, get ready to admire the shiny stuff that’s on the way. Today, I’ve been forced against my will to go to work. As a fuck you, I’m going to try and convert the 2x CO2 mags to HPA in between emails and phone calls
  11. Thanks Steve, The Infinity ones arrived yesterday, very nice surprise after a bit of a mare of a day! That’s all of my Guarder lightweight mags all looking swish. Just need UPS to finally let Kyle have his stuff so I can put my Infinity back together!
  12. “The heroes, their work having been done and the world of Airsoft safe again, went back to what they did best - gay jokes”
  13. It’s been a while since anything happened with my Hi-Capas. I’m almost tempted to say I’m happy with them. In reality, of course I’ve got stuff on the way, but UPS is just giving Kyle the run around for now. To assuage my boredom, I thought I’d try a couple of these. AIP Limcat Mag bumpers. Now my obvious Airsoft Autism can cool it’s jets again that the mags are “correct” - Limcat bottoms and STI trades to go with Limcat slide and STI frame. Got some Infinity ones on the way for my SV mags
  14. @Tommikka You’ve got a excellent point. If I was a Marshall, there’s no way I’d let someone out of the safe zone if they had a lid like that on. Everywhere I’ve played, the marshalling teams have lived and breathed the game and they’ve seen every daft PPE solution so hopefully it’ll be dealt with before it can become a problem Fingers crossed that the “excited owners of these fine tactical helmets” get picked up on at chrono. There isn’t a way to get a message out to sites is there? Maybe give Negative Airsoft a nudge to mention it?
  15. I think I’ve worked out why the photos he’s used are always from above... here’s a picture of the Dainese helmet, they’re not designed to keep balls off your chin, they’re designed to keep sun out of your eyes! Imagine the gap between a mesh lower and that lens!
  16. This thread is giving me actual anxiety. Someone is going to lose an eye. I bought a very similar lid for Skiing a few years ago. Couldn’t quite bring myself to putting £250 into a decent Dainese visor/helmet so I took a punt on a £50 Amazon jobby that looked almost identical to this piece of shit. The vibration from the piste caused the lens to crack, not an impact, just the act of me going down a hill quickly caused it to fail around the hinge. One second, I’ve got a dark lens covering my face, next it’s completely disappeared. The FMA lenses would be considered world class compared to these POS. There’s no way it’s going to survive the impact from a cheeky volley of shots. Also, if it is the same sort of design as what I had (before purchasing my extremely sexy Dainese helmet when the cheap one self-destructed) then you can basically fit your hand under the lens. It would be extremely easy to end up with a pellet getting under the lens I really hope that the buyers realise they’ve been had when their purchases arrive and not once they’ve ended up in A&E
  17. Yeah, but it fails to cycle REALLY smoothly. Bargain
  18. Restock should be in on Monday Cant wait for my new Springfield slide and Infinity Railed frame
  19. Glad it’s not just me. Fully Upgraded ~ totally fucked
  20. My wife wants a second pet, we’re seriously considering a giant rabbit I’m bracing myself for the poo
  21. From information gleaned on the grapevine. UPS should hopefully have HiCapaHubs restock in the country next week. Frames and all manner of snazzy, wallet-punishing stuff inbound
  22. My wife surprised me with this on my 30th. The only times it comes off my wrist is bed, bath and game day In return, she’s got a little Longine now. Sometimes, the Bond theme plays in my head when I check my wrist Edit- bloody cat has torn up the rug again. That’s bit of rug all over the carpet...
  23. The Leviathan clocked 44,000 shots with that spring so you’re bang on about the abuse! The new Vltor receiver I picked up from you is beautiful btw. I’ll have to snap some pictures when I get a few minutes!
  24. Picked up a M140 spring from Pete @ak2m4for a DMR build. On the phone, he was telling me about some new springs he’s got on the way as he was finding a lot of the Chinese-made, steel springs to be garbage-level quality. I thought it was interesting, having never had an issue with springs, and proceeded to have a tinker with one of my high speed builds. After a few games, it started to sound a bit strained and the range had dropped off a cliff. Lo and behold, Chinesium spring had snapped! Very lucky I had that M140 kicking around to replace it with (8 tooth DSG, M140=+-300fps)
