  1. If you change out the BBU at the same time for something lightweight, the increase in mass of the side will be offset by the decrease in the BBU Limcat c.70g TM c.40g CCT BBU c.18g TM BBU c.43b I’d be tempted to get a AIP 120% set in there at the same time. Steve - been typing out a reply to you at work. Once I’ve done a few deliveries and service jobs, I fully intend on finishing that! Also, Kyle keeps telling me he’s sure that 4.3 parts will be coming from Airsoft Masterpiece once they drop the Battlecat slides
  2. How long is a piece of string? The unfortunate truth is that the pressure of the gas varies with temperature and so your power output will fluctuate accordingly. You may find that the lower pressure gas creates a new issue and causes the gun to intermittently fail to cycle or vent. Best solution here, shorter barrel. It’s un-DMRing time
  3. (I haven’t dirtied my hands with an AEG in a game for almost 3 months) LOVE IT I ran the Infinity all night. Hop was set for 0.36’s but I was using 0.28 tracers. Once the Battlecat slide is in, I think that’ll be my dedicated indoor pew How did your game on Thursday go? Saw your video where you and Kyle got shot in the back, that guy was super speedy!
  4. Having picked up the donor gun secondhand for this build, I assumed the super-heavy trigger pull and fairly high amount of force required to set the hammer was normal for a KC-02. I was wrong The previous owner had installed the MAG 150% steel hammer set & spring. Chatting to Arron at Rogueworx, not only is the 150% spring unnecessary, the parts are arguably worse than the stock ones. On recommendation, I’ve bought his hammer set and he’s donated me a standard hammer spring. The difference in spring strength is insane, the bolt has almost no resistance in setting the hammer now. The sear is insanely sensitive now, I had to remove a fraction of material from my disconnector hook (three or four strokes with a file) and now the trigger is light as a feather. Unfortunately, he’d sold out of his adjustable trigger so it’s still the stock one. Once he’s made more, that’s definitely on the list so I can adjust the travel of the trigger to take the slop out after it breaks. Here’s a quick peek at the new parts in and my lovely pointy finger applying almost no pressure. (I’m almost certainly going to accidentally shoot myself with this) EDIT - Does the softer hammer spring affect output velocity? Doesn’t seem too, still got a zip tie through my reg and still a gnats fart under 1.88J with 0.43’s. The only observable difference in output is that consistency has improved with my biggest deviation over 100rds this morning being about 7fps IMG_9244.MP4
  5. Had an awesome evening at ZedMart last night. Forgot to bring a change of clothes for my top half so ran around in a hoodie I found in the van until I nearly dieded of heat exhaustion. Ended up playing in what I dub “Office Tactical” for a bit… Realised I had a souvenir from the game this morning!
  6. CNC hop? Is this an M4 build? Don’t bother with a Maxx. Mine took loads of filing to get working properly and even then gave no real change over the stock part. AK? Combat Union CNC hop is epic
  7. That should behave at 25rps and give you an output that’s well within UK limits. The Gate is a great little piece of kit and paves the way for things like the MERF or Warfet with their timing based burst modes. Having active break enabled will increase wear on the motor. Test the gun is semi with it disabled and check that it’s required instead of just running with it on. Id get a shopping basket going at AK2M4 now. I’m pretty sure @Asomodai gets frequent flier miles there! There’s a few things that @ak2m4 sells that I’d be tempted to pick up at the same time as gears/spring. Super lube is great stuff and efficiency is key with any build. Spare shims never go amiss either! Final thing to do to make sure you’re leveling the playing field is to never, never touch a 0.2g bb again. Switch out to 0.28’s and you’ll see improvements in consistency of groupings and a bit of an improvement in range
  8. If it’s essentially your main gun. Stick it at c.20. There’s nothing worse than having to do the walk of shame after your only pew has destroyed itself halfway into the first game of the day. If it were me, I’d stick with the ASG motor, they’re awesome. Get a standard ratio or 16:1 gearset from AK2M4 and run the 18:1 on 11.1 (25ish) or the 16:1 on 7.4 (18ish). The ROF figures are rough and depend on shimming/motor height etc. At 25ish, a tooth or two of the sector/piston rack would be fine. Two teeth off, grab a M110 and you should be sending comfortably under the 350fps limit. The sparks are fairly normal, motors will always do that unless brushless. It will cause a build up of carbon over time, reducing the motors efficiency. Brushes can be replaced, don’t sweat it. It’s worth having a read up on Mosfets, they’ll increase the ROF slightly and protect your trigger contacts. Are you handy with a soldering iron?
  9. 13:1 gears with a 30k motor and 11.1 could be as high as (30kx1.55/13) 35ish RPS. Two teeth off is still likely to have PME at that speed! As an example, I’m running 6 teeth off on my M4 (dsg) and an M140 spring to avoid PME at 37rps. Honestly, I wouldn’t worry about not being able to use a piston in another build, it’s a totally sacrificial component and you’ll get through plenty over time with high speed builds. Is this your only AEG? Very important question here, as that will definitely determine what sort of RPS to aim for Ali Edit - forgot to add, 30-40rps is seriously uncool in game without the facility for a burst mode. My high speed stuff is always locked to 3-5 rd burst depending on how dense the woodland is. Play like you’d like to be played against, no one likes being hosed
  10. May as well update this in case someone wants to build one. Bored of waiting for a TanukiWorks HPA adaptor restock and unwilling to pay for extra magazines I got creative. Turns out the width of the standard KC02 mags and the collar of the top of the G&G M4 drums is almost identical. With not much more than fitting the Bowden spring into the KC02 mag and epoxying the mag into the drum - the KC02 HPA drum mag was born! I ran a test of a few hundred rounds and it feeds perfectly and is as consistent as one would expect with HPA. I was worried about the sheer weight of the thing in the mag well but it seems to be a non-issue
  11. AOE probably isn’t the biggest issue here. The correct, factual advice has been said already. I’ve done a few high speed builds and I’ve made all the mistakes, I only stopped stripping pistons when I listened to hamster and sittingduck. In all likeliness whats going to happen as soon as you push any UK spec build up near 30rps is premature engagement. This is simply because the springs we use for our velocity limits don’t return the piston quickly enough before the next revolution of the gearset. If the piston gets caught by the sector before its fully returned, chances are the teeth are going to get obliterated or (in the worst cast scenario with a metal rack) the sector gear or bushing/bearing is going to get obliterated. There’s no reason why you cannot make a decently reliable high speed build at UK spec mind, my Leviathon in my M4 (36-37rps) is showing 43,000 rounds since I last rebuilt her! What you’ll need to do is short stroke the piston and sector gear. There are tonnes of guides on short stroking on YouTube, watch a couple and you’ll get the idea. Essentially you’ll be taking teeth off the piston and sector to allow it to be released earlier, ensuring that it can return fully before the next cycle. I’ve settled on removing three teeth from almost everything I build now. If 7:45 brain works properly, teeth come off the pick up end of the sector and the release end of the piston or you could have timing issues. If I’ve got that wrong, there will be plenty of replies to point that out… Removing teeth is going to reduce your output velocity, a decent rule of thumb is 10-15fps per tooth. At this point you’ll need a stronger spring, depending on barrel length+cylinder volume this will vary but I’ve found that 3tooth short stroke and an M115-M120 seems to land on the UK limit in most circumstances. Removing the teeth isn’t hard, you’ll need a metal rack piston, stick the rack in a bench vice and dremel or file away until the teeth are history! Same with the sector, just be extra careful not to damage any teeth on either side you don’t want to remove! Easy enough to do, and you should be able to run your 18:1 with the 30k and 11.1 for a decent period of time. Good pistons to use are the SHS ones although the new gear parts ones @ak2m4 is selling look very similar. Either way AK2M4 sell both, get one! Ali
  12. Ran 400 or so 0.28’s through it this morning. Dialled in the regulator but then found it’s creeping a bit when I go up to 0.43’s so ended up having to set the regulator again… I’m very happy that it feeds the 0.43’s fine and I’m getting a consistent 299-305fps @95ish psi. Only slight issue is it looks a little daft but with 2500rd capacity, zero feeding issues and a consistent output I can live with that! Im going to tidy up the JB Weld once it’s completely cured and then probably go over it with some black paint.
  13. Ive got some 130rd mid caps for when I can get a Tanuki Works HPA adaptor, until then, changing the mag and line was too much of a pain in the middle of a game to put up with. I’ll need to see if the mechanism in the drum is capable of pushing up 0.43’s or it’s a bit of a pointless endeavour
  14. Not exactly as polished as what’s being shown off in this thread but… Got really frustrated reloading my new HPA DMR build so necessity being the mother of innovation, this happened
  15. On a slightly less Battle-catty note… how often do you play at that Hells Pass site? I’ve been watching a few of your videos and I think I’ve convinced myself that I should drive up to Derby to have a go at shooting you! Are you heading down to Newbury for the forum member game at Negative Airsoft’s Zed site?
  16. None available yet. I suspect that as soon as the Battlecats actually drop, it’ll be one of the next things from AM. I’m exactly the same vein, I got worked up about having a .45 barrel with my Speedcat (0.40) and lo and behold, a few weeks later, they dropped threaded and non threaded 0.40S&W outer barrels
  17. It’s felt like they’ve been “ready to drop” for ages. Remember when they were going to be released in March… Do you know what he’s got on the way? I’ve got a JLP racker for the Speedcat/C-More but I’m curious if he’s got anything else weird on the way
  18. Excuse the workshop carpet, I think the pew itself makes up for the mess! KJ KC02 with Rogueworx internals, Boyds stock and RA-Rech fluted outer barrel. HPA-Tapped, super consistent and my new DMR build. With the RW VSR hop conversion, ML Autobot and 400mm barrel it’s pretty spicy!
  19. Just checked out some of his footage. The 2020 highlight with the 10 kill streak is pretty epic! I don’t suppose Kyle’s shared any wisdom about expected shipping dates? His suspicion was end of July last time I badgered him…
  20. Ha, me too! I’m sure he’s told you the same thing about more open stuff later in the year. I’m holding out for a silver or two tone open-style Limcat slide+frame set. Something similar to the Dragoncats they did a while back Is the Silver Infinity set yours?
  21. @Steveocee Loving that slide and frame set in your Instagram story. Going silver barrel and controls?
  22. If you can find one in stock, it’ll look awesome on the dual stainless frame! I’ve found with AM stuff; if you remotely like it, don’t hang about - just buy it. If you hesitate it’ll be sold out in weeks
  23. Brain doesn’t work well after 9pm. @Cr0-Magnon If the Battlecat look is a bit too Speedyboi for you Makeit3D are close to releasing several super lightweight slide designs including some for the 4.3. These would give you a slide the same weight as the stock TM but capable of withstanding longer term punishment from Green/Red gas or HPA >90psi Finally, the word on the street is that Airsoft Masterpiece are going to slowly rerelease a lot of their older designs (sounds like they’ve run out of ideas ) so there could be a 4.3 Costa Carry or a 4.3 Infinity at some point but the best idea of knowing when would be to throw a dart at a calendar
  24. There’s not a lot around 4.3 slide wise at the moment. Airsoft Masterpiece are on the cusp of releasing a 4.3 version of their Battlecat slide. @Steveocee and myself have both got them on order from Kyle at HiCapaHub. He’s definitely worth getting in touch with to see if he can sneak another one onto his orders.
  25. Had my first game with the KC02 on Sunday, learned a few things about the build. 1.) My hop wheel tensioner was rubbish. I’ve made a new one from a biro nib and it’s giving a far more positive click for each adjustment. 2.) The KJ plastic rail is rubbish and at one point I had to push my scope back to zero! I’ve got a metal RA tech one arriving soon but I had to buy an entire new outer barrel to get it! £140 oof 3.) When the hop wheel was in the right position, this thing sends BB’s a long way. 4.) 90rds is not enough to get through a 2 hour game. I need to find a KC02>MP5 HPA adaptor
