  1. Slightly more expensive day than I’d planned for… Just bought a real C-More on eBay!
  2. I decided I liked your scope mount so much that I’ve had to buy one for myself! I think it’s going to end up on my Speedcat as that’s my go-to for HPA pistol play. Now let’s see how long it takes to get here from HK!
  3. New, smaller Hawke scope, proper innerbarrel and muzzle break fitted, I think I can call this one finished! Can’t wait to get some mud on this one!
  4. Something a bit different arrived from the states today. It’s a Nova style grip and I think it completes the pistol-formerly-known-as-Novristch nicely!
  5. Haha, 30 days on Ali express! I wish I was that lucky! I had to start a claim after 56 days in transit… Good find on a UK seller
  6. It’s very easy to get caught up on the hype train. I think very early on in this thread I had said that Novristch could sell snow to an Eskimo. You can still make an incredibly high performance pistol out of the SSP1. Mine was actually a great performer, it just had very poor externals and fit. The hop unit is very good and the barrel seemed fine. If you were to swap out the rest of the upper, it’s pretty much job done! A non dropping outer barrel, lightweight BBU, Alu slide and potentially a 120% AIP spring set will get you a snappy capa that still makes use of the best parts of the SSP1
  7. Did a little bit more testing in the garage. I think I’ve worked out the final piece of the puzzle! The knocker lock was causing big round to round deviations, I’ve discovered today my homemade hop wheel tensioner was slipping thanks to the recoil and the power output was gradually creeping up as the hop lessened. I’ve filed the piece a bit sharper now and the hop wheel is staying put. 2 long mags, 374-378 with 0.28’s @95psi. I’ll have to wait to get it to Finmere to set the hop correctly for 0.43’s and then tune my psi accordingly for the site limit
  8. Magwells on the way? Might need to keep checking the site, one of mine looks a bit meh where I’ve tried to fill in the AW engraving. On a side note, have you seen the pictures of Kyle’s Gold and Silver build? It’s definitely striking, I don’t know if I’d be brave enough to skirmish it in case I ruined the gold
  9. It’s an Airsoft Masterpiece Springfield style. There are two places in the UK for AM parts, Hi-Capa Hub and Elite Shooting Centre. As I discovered, the Novristch doesn’t strictly stick to TM standard, so you’ll end up having to change or modify another couple of parts to get it all working. If you want to give an AM slide a go, here’s what you’ll need to do: •The SSP1 uses a 4.3 style rear sight which won’t fit on any 5.1 slide. I assume you’ll be fitting a standard RMR mount to the slide though. • The Blowback unit from the Novristch won’t fit any other slide without quite a bit of filing. Not the end of the world but worth taking your time over. If you can’t be bothered, CCT, AM and Elite make some really lightweight replacements that will fit straight into the new slide and the weight reduction will improve your cycling speed. • If you end up switching out the BBU, you may have to try a few different diameter O-rings on the piston to get a good seal on the Novristch nozzle. Its a slippery slope, you may find that you end up replacing almost all of the upper on the Novristch by the time you’re done! Airsoft Masterpiece have an awesome range of slides, so you’ll end up with something nice and unique
  10. There used to be a term thrown around here some time ago - chairsofter. Chairsofters utilise all manner of anecdotal evidence with serious conviction. This place is great for having a few (admittedly pretty battle-weary) gods that dish out hard learned advice from having fucked up the old fashioned way. I’d be very surprised if using Np2.0 would prove to be problematic
  11. Managed to get her down to a +-5fps deviation now. Going to nip into work tomorrow to pick up my valve tool - just want to make sure the inconsistencies aren’t down to the KJ outlet valves Can’t wait to see how far she can send 0.43g’s Re: Photo, the Cat destroyed a cardboard box. I’ve got wood floors going down on Tuesday. I’m not just a total slob!
  12. Ive actually been trying to destroy the stock plastic slide on my 4.3 whilst I wait on Airsoft Masterpiece to finally deliver the Battlecat 4.3. Given the plastic slide has no real value 2nd hand and I’ve already swapped out the BBU for my go-tos, I figured I’d Mythbust NP3.0, No failure NP4.0, No failure Guarder performance gas? Well, that set the fire alarm off at work; the slide is fine Edit - It’s just as well you’re happy to dive in at the deep end if you’re going to stick a Guarder slide on there! Grab the dremel, hand files and a tub of mother’s aluminium polish!
  13. The Novristch, like a beautiful butterfly, has metamorphosed again...
  14. “Preach!” Back in 2005/2006 I can remember getting ready to complain on Arnies about how green gas had broken my KSC M11. In reality, I just had no idea about how to maintain and lubricate moving parts
  15. I worked out what was causing the odd really low output The knocker lock was quite worn and wasn’t always fully retracting the knocker. 1 in 10 shots, it was partially retracting and likely reduced the force with which it hit the outlet valve. A few strokes with one of the wife’s old Emery boards and it’s back to doing what it’s meant to. I’m actually surprised at how little material I had to remove to solve the issue
  16. Are you UK based? Problem with advice on the internet is that it’s not necessarily local... Aside HPA and CO2, gas behaves quite differently depending on temperature. It’s probably true that a TM slide won’t stand up to green gas at 30*c, here - not a real issue. Ditch the maintenance gas and go back to the original piston/nozzle combo Edit - if you’re confident about that seal. I’ll shut me gob! I just couldn’t get the DP nozzle to behave in any of my Hi-capas and I have a bit of a tendency to put the leg work in for shiny things
  17. My money is on the DP nozzle, I picked up a hi-capa one and couldn’t find an O-ring that would give me any compression in my box o’bits. Stick your TM nozzle back in. Unless it had broken or deformed, there’s no real point in changing nozzles I appreciate the fact that the issue here is that the slide isn’t affecting the knocker lock, but I reckon that’s only down to a possible compression issue caused by low pressure gas and a leaky piston/nozzle fit
  18. Oh, forgot to say. The Genesis hop and its nub are basically one of the best toleranced pieces of kit I’ve seen in Airsoft. Once lubed, the nub fits perfectly into the hop unit’s aperture. Putting some pressure on the nub with a screw reveals the most symmetrical pressure on a hop rubber Ive ever seen. If I can work out why I’m getting the deviation, this thing should be seriously effective (was going to say accurate, but no pew is “really” very accurate beyond 30m if there’s foliage and wind at play!)
  19. Barrel arrived! Testing it out, it seems like I’ve been very lucky. At my magic 95psi I’m achieving 375fps w/0.28 (don’t want to do lots of testing with 0.43, ouch!) with is pretty much bang on the money for my site limit of 450/0.2g. Problem is, the consistency is not all that great. Whilst I was regularly getting 366-375, there was the odd reading in the 350’s. There’s a fair bit of play in the magazines, so I’m assuming that it’s the router to nozzle fit that’s causing the issue. I’m going to put a bit of electrical tape around the lip on the back of the mag and pad out the sides of the magwell. Let’s see what a bit of bodging can achieve!
  20. While I’m waiting for a barrel to arrive, might as well let anyone interested know what I think/what I’ve done. Firstly, getting a real 10/22 stock onto the KJ receiver? Very easy. I had to remove c.1.5-2mm from either side of the outerbarrel mount, chamfer the bottom of the magwell and remove the rear tang from the receiver. On the Boyds stock, I had to widen the rebate for the trigger box by roughly 1mm either side. Whilst it would have been quicker with a dremel, I wanted to be as precise as possible and went with a hand file. All in, it took around half an hour to get the receiver in the stock. It’s solid as a rock with no play! Initial thoughts on the Rogueworx parts? As I haven’t been able to get stuff running as I want it yet (bought the wrong barrel, didn’t I!) my oppinio as yet can only be based on the tolerances and fit of the bits I purchased. The only comparable products I’ve had the pleasure of mucking around with, built to this standard are Retro Arms gearboxes and Combat Union hop units. The way that the charging handle and bolt carrier mate is totally precise with no slop or wobble. For comparison, the previous bolt would snag unless you pulled the charging handle from the bottom. The RW nozzle glides inside of the carrier. A little bit of superlube and it was smooth as silk. The ported RW piston also seems to do exactly what it says on the tin. The supplied O-rings fit “just-rightly not too tightly” inside of the nozzle. I suspect that this is going to be a very consistent mechanism (as long as the RA tech NPAS that’s in there isn’t a bag of wank). Finally, I couldn’t live with having two mags with rear HPA taps and one downwards facing so I forced my lazy arse to do a proper job on the gas mag!
  21. New slide, frame and some 9ball routers enroute. UPS finally let Kyle have his stuff
  22. At 90psi and with a 5” barrel it’s giving me 210fps with 0.36g. Going to be interesting to see what a change to a 435mm barrel makes. Important thing is it cycles and feeds. If the output is too high, I’ve got the RW flow restrictors and PSI adjustment to compensate Also, picked out my load out for the first game with it
  23. I can’t believe how much of a dopey twat I’ve been today. Left the air bottle at home too! Ive bought a VSR style barrel from Bullseye, hopefully it arrives for the weekend
  24. I’ve stuck a Hi-Capa barrel in for now so I can check it cycles etc What a way to test it?
  25. It’s seriously comfy and the front end is so light. It practically aims itself My other DMR requires you to be bloody Arnie to last a game Cant wait to get that barrel in so I can do some tests.
