Talking of Magpul CTRs I believe this is the successor to it. The SLK. And no it’s not Merc inspired 😂 To be honest I’m not really feeling it! It doesn’t have the same wow feel as the CTR design does in my opinion. Of course I’ve not seen one in hand yet so that may change. Has anyone on here grabbed one yet?

Blurb on the new Systema infinity motor. This really does look interesting. https://www.hyperdouraku.com/airgun/systema_infinity-01/index.html?fbclid=IwAR3VXFB_pJJuMNrogLkf93WW6ftE_iGv6Z9GNt5aF9GiXkHTlvfz0brS3y4 .

Cheers matey and thank you for making my bank balance potentially £80 lighter and also the cost of the AW drum mag lighter too what ever that costs lol

Mine's the CQB version so the sling mount was already attached. And yes you do need to twist a number of times..... it's somewhere on this thread. Here's a thought, the easiest way I guess is to mark the buffer tube with some white dots and use that as a reference when you screw the buffer back on with the sling plate... It may be trail and error but its probably takes the guess work out. Or just count the number of twists when you remove it... simple really
-
Crikey that was totally bonkers.... Insane.. damn this thread! Now that itch needs to be scratched..... bollocks
-
It does look nice especially if you have the Magpul grip too. There is a little side to side movement but nothing to worry about. If you’re OCD about that then a little electrical tape on the buffer should fix it.

I run a mil spec CTR on mine....the friction lock engages nicely too. Rear sling mount > well its whatever you fancy really. Mine has the Marui CQBR/MK18 sling plate. Angry gun also does the same.. You can also get QD sling plates... There really is a lot of choice.
-
You actually do have a point..... With a magpul grip you no longer have that finger rest and even I with my manly hands find it a tad uncomfortable... but a pair of tactical mitts sorts it out... Alternatively a bit of Sugru will do it...

I used to play in Leicester years ago at a place which was known as the Embassy I do believe.. It was absolutely mental. It was a disused factory about 15 mins from Fosse Park. A 3 story layout, The top floor were offices so you were darting in and out of rooms and corridors and up and down stair cases... The Ground floor was a massive open space with multiple entry and exit points and fake walls put up to provide more cover but best of all was the basement.... FCUK me! It was dark, wet, probably full of rats and the odd lightbulb that you see in horror movies moving side to side and squeaking.... When you were down there it was surreal.... You would be on your tip toes trying hard not to make a sound... Jeez looking back it was pure adrenalin fuelled orgasmic action!. I remember once running up the central stairs from the basement to the middle of the ground floor, gun blazing, bb's flying in all directions....and wallop I ran straight into a wooden wall... I went flying... but I didn't drop my Systema... hell no... I wasn't gonna scratch it lol. The top office floor was just as crazy and we did some crazy things trying to clear out the rooms... I am actually smiling as I'm writing this... And best of all was the final game known as the last stand. You'd all bunch up into the centre of the ground floor in a square formation surrounded by crates about 10 of you and then the rest of the people would come at ya... It was insane! Absolutely some of the best airsoft I've ever played. Period. In terms of BDU's people just wore what they wanted. DPM, Coyote brown, jeans, t-shirts, trainers, shorts... it really didn't matter coz there was no place you could really hide... except downstairs in the dark basement where the boogeyman lived..... he was real! Honest! He lived in Leicester in that basement!!!

POWAIR6 does a load of PTW stuff still as do a few other European and Eastern European retailers.... but try an order something now from Europe.... haha no chance! @Grootremember the Celcius CTW 😂, the one everyone thought would compete against Systema.... and that crazy rotary hop that RWA said was a game changer.... I think some Taiwan outfit has tried again to create a 'new' super hop called the TNT hop and then ORGA got onto the bandwagon too and this is all in the last 4 years....
-
@Speedbird_666You hit the nail on the head there with a big mallet. Systema could have cornered the airsoft market back then if they wanted but I expect it wasn't their primary focus. They obviously are happy with their dealings with local MIL and Law Enforcement and the supply of their training products to that market accordingly. It wouldn't surprise me if were is some gentleman's agreement between them and other airsoft manufacturers not to encroach on each others territory. In a warped sense of reality it kinda almost makes sense... well almost Perhaps one day, when it's safe to play again you may get the chance of shooting a PTW... be warned though you'll never be the same again.. 😂 Avoid like the plague... the DTW tried and kinda almost got a foothold... they probably still have a large following no doubt I believe and JDAirsoft was big back in the day of promoting the DTW... Of course there is GBLS DAS too.... A Systema recoil wannabe but that's another can of worms which I don't want to open...

Abbey Ultra Predator is fine up until March time, well in these current temps. As you quite righty put it, go back to green when it get's warmer... especially if you have the TM mags as they have a pressure release valve which will go pop with too much pressure... hence caution with them.
-
We have a car thread for that 😂 Back to the topic... 390 ponies...... nice!!! I played with a TW5 many moons ago and all I remember was the smile on my face and the sounds of pain and aguish in the opposing team as my bb's hit their target. That gun was bloody incredible and you just could not touch it performance wise... it was proper SAS storming the embassy feeling!
-
No I know an AEG doesn’t have a realistic trigger. I wasn’t trying to say that I was merely pointing out my recoil has a hairline trigger. Granted I’ve never fired a real AR let alone a real gun which is why I don’t get the fuss about trigger. To me it seems fine. Normal almost. I guess coz I don’t have a reference to compare it to it’s difficult for me to judge. Am I making sense or taking complete rubbish?
-
You’re welcome fella. These really are that good. Of course it’s too cold to use green gas so that may not help matters either. You should be ok with Abbey Ultra too at the moment. See how that works.

The 'What have you just bought' Thread
AlphaBear replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Good man.... once you get the TDC and the H-plate she will lift a baby elephant 60m -
I honestly don't understand the whole 'why you need to change the trigger box parts' to make the trigger more efficient. To me it's fine the way it is... I've seen Badabing mention it, Redwolf and a few others but I really don't get it.... I pull the trigger, it fires.... I release my finger.. I pull the trigger again and so on... I mean what am I missing here? The so called reset? It's a GBBR not a NGRS with a Gate Titan... Maybe I'm being totally blonde here (no offence to any blondies) but what gives.... and no I'm not asking for a friend 😂
-
Yup...... sadly you need the Hadron TDC and the H plate (that's the blue one....). Also don't forget to teflon tape the bucking and the barrel join.... Don't know if it makes much difference with the flamingo coz it very 'rubbery' and you probably get no leak but yo never know.... . The standard marui hop arm/nub can't apply enough pressure even on the flamingo....

We always have fun I've just checked now and yup you're right they have stopped listing them now but let's face it their business model is driven by what the current demand is so recoils, scorpions, whatever floats peoples boats will be listed (obviously).... Granted many people won't have a clue what a PTW is as it's no longer mainstream and Systema certainly shot themselves in the foot with their marketing in that respect. There is no denying that. They continued their existence with the so called 'professional training arenas' outside of mainstream airsoft. Now..... relevance is a state of mind. What is relevant to one person won't be relevant to another. I won't go out a buy a Specna or a Scorpion coz it's simply not relevant to me.... And yes there were clones back in the day and guess what they cost half the price and they simply didn't cut the mustard.... Also, you may be surprised how many people still run Systema's. They just work. One of my last games in October I took mine out for a spin... the reaction I got was''' mate what rifle is that". They have a unique sound and they always nearly always hit their target. People asked if they could have a quick play and I was fine with that... and the reaction was an unanimous WOW where can I get one. Is my Systema better than my supa dupa recoil.... Hell yes. Hands down. Do I play with my recoils more? Yes I do.... Go figure.... Technology has moved on... R-hop, S-hop, whatever hop, HPA and so on.... prices have fallen and there is more variety in the market... however a Ferrari will always be a Ferrari regardless of the model... and a Systema is what it is... a damn bloody good airsoft rifle. Slap in a new cylinder and you can go from 330fps to 550fps in a matter of 10 seconds..... (and I know with HPA you can turn the knob and voila but guess what you need an air tank and a hose...)

That’s actually a good idea carrying a spare BCG for that ‘just in case’ moment. And the nozzle spring is the weakest link let’s face it.
-
The resurgence will no doubt happen I do believe but on a niche scale. Mostly by the current enthusiasts. Let’s face it not everyone can drop a grand and a half on a RIF (I say that in the nicest way too). But then again so many people drop a grand easily on upgrading recoils (let’s not go down that route lol). Of course Japan will lead the way as it always does and then word will filter out on the normal channels. Fire Support is the only UK retailer who still deals with PTWs and then there is Tac. If you need one people just go to TAC. Simple as that. Oh Sam up at KoA also started off with PTWs so he’s got a background in them. You will also find these days a PTW is built to order and then it’s a specific build.

Yes they are relevant. Why shouldn’t they not be? It’s another platform in our hobby/sport. They are a niche market and outside of airsoft they are still very big amongst enthusiasts and collectors. Check out some of the forums and you’ll see how much effort has been spent in building them into real life models of the real thing. A HAO kitted PTW will set your back over £2.5k. It’s insane I know but as I said it’s a niche market and damn they don’t half look good either. With this new ‘evolution’ you may even see a resurgence of the platform. It’s all exciting. . And actually all current ptw out of the box will have a ‘new spec’ motor so that previous notion of unreliability went out the window a few years ago.
-
Ahhhh the so called PTW ‘haters’. I remember them. There used to be a lot of that at the time. Even I got a few ‘snide’ remarks but most were intrigued and genuinely interested. In those days a sub £1k gun was rare! Roll on to airsoft ‘today’ and many guns are touching £1k if not more. No one bats an eyelid these days lol. But yes that new gearbox setup does look pretty slick. Let’s see what the first reviews will be like and of course the price.

TM ones are like rocking horse poop..... you won't easily find them... I have a spare G&P one in case my Marui one goes pop... In fact Eagle6 makes their own version of the MGG2-121 (that's the part number)... I wasn't aware of that until just now....only £10!! perfect https://eagle6.co.uk/shop/catalog/product/view/id/6343/s/eaglesix-bcg-nozzle-return-spring-for-tm-m4-mws-gbbr/
