Nope, that's all..... just don't use crappy bb's! Enjoy the gun when lockdown finishes.... Yes, that is correct, you have to remove the barrel to access the hop unit.... it's not like a next gen recoil where you simply slide the upper receiver off... yes it really sucks! And yes, get the proper wrench... the Laylax one....

You do have a very good point here... Maybe our expectations are too high and the simple approach is better. The valve is less than £10 from eagle6 so maybe this is the way to go... Can you show us some pics of the mod if you don't mind?

Can you qualify exactly what the issue was with the performance? Inconsistent fps? Too much variance between shots?

I'm curious on how well these G&P adjustable valves are? My G&P bolt is way too hot at the moment....

So this guy has this TM delta for sale. He wants £850 for it. The same gun was on sale previously for £525. He did a px for something this guy had and paid cash to make up the diff. Now this guy is selling the same gun for £300 more. Here are the results. You can see how hot the G&P bolt (left side) is running compared to the stock Marui (right side). As I said the gas used was Abbey Ultra Predator gas. Geoffs Super Precision 0.3s and Excel 0.2s were used. Ill have a go with the normal Abbey green gas tomorrow and post up. I’ll get round to updating the excel too when I get a moment.

Oh my God! I just put two mags through my G&P bolt! It’s how can I put it eloquently running as hot as Mount Etna during a heat wave! I’ll update the spreadsheet in a bit. Basically I used Geoff’s 0.3 shooting 20 bbs with both the G&P bolt and then with the Marui bolt. Each time I made sure the mag was full of gas. The temperature was an ambient 20c. Then I switched to 0.2 Excel bbs ( hard as nails but old) and again quite surprised. So four tests done. The bottom line is the G&P bolt is running way too hot! The gas used was Abbey Ultra Predator gas in the red can even though it’s a green gas!

That actually is me as a matter of fact lol But yeah,I reckon this is the best MWS forum thread outside of Japan. We have one Japanese member on here too but I don’t think he’s posted much. Anyway we are digressing. Oh a few years ago I did a three week road trip of CA. Went to Miramar airforce base for their annual air show. Omg that was insane. Also stayed near Coronado and saw Navy Seals doing night exercises on the water. It doesn’t get any real then that!!!

It’s like 7-10c here during the day time at the moment. A tad colder than CA ?. Of course any chrono tests I do I have to do indoors at 20c. Yup that’s the ambient temp in my house lol

Great write up @ajumma, I'm pleased someone was able to road test it.... I'll stick mine into my CQBR at the weekend and see how it performs using a stock Marui bucking and a prometheus inner barrel... I'll measure the decibels too and see what the difference in sound level is between the Marui and the G&P if anyone is interested in that metric... By the way, what brand of gas are you using ?

I’ve no idea. I haven’t even thought to deeply about the G&P design of the bolt. In fact I’ve not even installed it as of yet.
