I'd have to say the impression cadets gave you is the wrong one overall.  Some parts of the army are somewhat strict on polishing and ironing but I've not had my uniform inspected for a regular day in work in over a decade.  I'm trusted to be a grown adult and just keep myself clean and tidy to a common sense level that is sustainable for an entire career, ranks above me care much more about whether I do my job well, security, general behaviour; same applies for most people who are in.

Since you don't actually produce work with operational output as a cadet they have to fill your time with drill and training, in regular service it's basically the total opposite for the majority of people.

Aye, as long as you can do your job, remember to read the timings sheet and don’t skip CDT’s you’re all good haha.

  2. Aye, I wasn’t a fan of the stock at first but it’s nice to see some sort of revamp. Imho it shits on the ICS variant, not the original.. you know the one with the UMP stock.. but each to their own..

It’s also nice to see the platinum gb in this shell. I’m going to whack a perun v2, 13:1, SHS ht motor in my .41J.. kinda wished I’d waited for this to come out now haha. I’m really impressed by what I’ve seen of the platinum range.

The actual real shit you've done is inversely proportional to likelihood you're gonna chat a big game, ignore hits, get angry, shout at people (on both teams) etc.  I think most people can imagine why.  I say likelihood because I've known one slight exception but he'd just huff a lot to people he knew and quit games sometimes, not actually get real angry at strangers mid round.

I think when you look at pure airsofters vs cadets vs regulars at different levels most folks will have seen this to be a trend.  Airsoft weapons and ordnance are nothing like the real stuff so the tactics/marksmanship mostly don't work and if you lose at airsoft it doesn't matter at all we all go home, most people know that, but chances you'll actually care about the game might be a bit higher if you lack the real experience to know how insignificant a little sunday afternoon bb war truly is in the scheme of things.

As I think about it, I come to the conclusion it's more down to what you think airsoft is.  The worst players overall I've encountered or see online tend to be far too hard in to milsim, maybe did basic training then left the forces or just straight failed basic, have/have had some military mates who they quote all the time, imitate the lingo and/or or got a like on IG from an ex-SF guy one time.  Either way, the more of a fantasy about the game someone builds up in their mind the more unpleasant they are to be around.

    Ex SF are on IG?

Uuurgh the term “veteran”, how I despise that Americanism.

ive never met an ex servicemen/ex military who used that term. Maybe it’s become an acceptable term now but hearing it still makes me shudder and suspect that the person describing themselves as such may not actually be one. But maybe it’s just me

Guys like uncle Albert - Only when they talk about ops and deployment, ask them - what was for scoff on Wednesdays? Where'd you get your hair cut? lol

  5. I think it depends on the person, how long they were in, what their trade was, cap badge etc.. From my experience when I told my army mates about air soft they thought it was gay af (infantry) but i met a guy from 3 med who was into it and him and his mates loved it. I remember doing FIBUA in Catterick and we got beasted because a screw found a mag in a kill house only upon inspecting it it turned out to be a airsoft mid cap. He threw it to that guy because he knew he was into it. But yea, trying to do FIBUA with simunition whilst crunching BB's going upstairs isnt fun because man, those things hurt!

  6. I don’t think it matters.. Someone said we’re all annoying to a point. I found it really difficult adjusting to airsoft - (no ones scared of death, you can’t shoot through walls, you’re not allowed to cut cake whilst firing into a room etc)

I got absolutely slapped at my first few games because I was playing how I was trained which I found really annoying haha but I soon got my civvy head on started going in jeans and having way more fun.

Yeaman, I’m in communication with TG and I’ve spoken to Pheas re this briefly (we know he likes his big orders from TG) He reckons it’ll be soon... Dunno if he’s on here?

I was listening to the Chairsofter podcast from last year and he suggested the likes of Evike may even get involved should EU shipping be a problemo.. Obvs that’ll be at a premium.

Diode is easy on a cheap std motor with tabs at sides

it is other motor types like G&G/SHS you might need to careful of

std Cyma motors have tabs at sides - so a schottky diode is no biggy

but yup - what until stuff breaks or really need to open her up = wise decision

Yup, quick and easy. I had 0 trouble with it.
