  1. Been researching different gas pressures for my TM MWS. Usually using ASG Ultrair (beige bottle) and found this handy video comparing different gasses.

“Airsoft Mike” Youtube video shows the following (amongst others):

    Nuprol 1.0 - 320fps

    ASG Ultrair - 345fps

    V6 - 365fps

    V8 - 375fps

    Nuprol 3.0 - 375fps

Obviously it will vary from platform to platform but a handy guide to, in the words of “Play Your Cards Right”, higher or lower? 😁

That's a really interesting point about the temperature. I've noticed a few retailers put that info on their websites now.

It's difficult to justify changing up when you've found a product that works for you. Curiosity is a bugger though 🤣

Just to chime in, I'm chuffed the graph on the side of the can is being recognised as helpful for working out whats best for you. Just a heads up though, while the Orange & Red are silicone free, the new green does have a small element to it, so for your MWS stick to ultrair for the warmer days.

I posted a bit of a spreadsheet in the MWS thread of my comparison of all 4 of our gasses through my MWS at 23c if you havent seen that. Theres also the price. Ultrair red is available for under a tenner.

Think I'll pop down to my local airsoft store and get some of the ASG to test over the weekend.

I do remember seeing your post and I'll definitely give it another look. Thank you

  2. AEGs have a set volume of air in the cylinder they will force down the barrel. Gas guns (and I think HPA too. I don’t own one so no first hand experience) will keep pushing out gas to fill the volume behind the BB until it leaves the barrel and the pressure drops allowing the rocket valve to close and divert the pressure to cycle the action. TM gas rifles have 250mm barrels no matter the outer barrel length to limit Joule creep and keep within Japanese laws.
  3. Videos are dead on that post ☹️ Got the Steel and Alu bolts set up with G&P stops and regular plastic valves. ~260fps and ~240fps respectively on 0.32g / ASG gas / 25DegC shed 😁 Taking less than half a mm off the back of a plastic valve gives a 20-30fps gain. Rub on some wet&dry on a flat surface….take it slow! G&P adjustable valve (green one) was showing some wear with the grub screw eating a hole in the brass stop - not all the way through but not ideal!
  4. Built up a new nozzle tonight to replace the TM one with the broken screw and G&P NPAS that was adjusting its self (and trying to get me banned from the local site Luckily discovered testing at home!) Set up was the same for all gasses. Minimal Joule creep with 0.28 > 0.32g BBs (lighter ones omitted for clarity) 19DegC, 0.32g BBs from a Guns Modify nozzle / valve / valve spring. G&P adjustable valve stopper - three holes for the cross-nozzle screw to go through at different points so it moves the valve forward or back a set amount. MID setting: Nuprol White 265 - 272fps ASG Ultrair (beige bottle) 270 - 276fps So the low power gas is only ~5fps less. As it was close to the limit I changed it to the LOW setting and repeated. ASG Ultrair (beige bottle) 230 - 233fps Nuprol Red 235 - 240fps Bit too low (equivalent to 295fps on a 0.20g) but fine for CQB. So “Nuprol super power gas50000!!!!” only added ~6fps. iT wIlL kiLl Ur GuNz!!! 😂 Might try the mid setting with a cut down valve spring, or just wait for the weather to cool down 😁 According to Vorsk the V6 gas is equivalent to ASG Ultrair, V8 and V12 both higher pressure. Abbey 144a might be a handy one for warmer days when I don’t want to disassemble the nozzle in the safezone. What are others running and do they notice much difference in FPS?
  5. Is it a polymer body? It might be the older type with “rear ears” that the rear body pin goes through. These you only need to remove the rear pin and carefully pivot the upper around the front pin. Search out the TM M733 AEG manual for instructions and pictures.
  6. Yep, exactly that! I am going to fit new feedlips to #5 and test again. Only thing I think it can be!
  7. Has anyone had worn feed lips on a mag cause bbs to roll out the barrel when they are chambered? Only seems to be one mag doing it! Manually charging the bolt is fine, but after it shoots and cycles the next BB just rolls out the barrel. Hop is on (4-5clicks) and hop rubber is pretty new (certainly less than 1500rds) BBs are Warhead. Happens with 110% and 130% buffer springs. Nozzle is in good condition and feeding fine otherwise. This wasn’t an issue with mag #7 and #2 used in the shots-per-gas-fill test I did a couple of days ago. Only mag #5 ☹️
  8. I have tried Nuprol “white” gas (their low powered one, probably close to 144a) and only found a ~20fps drop (305 > 285ish) Tempted to get some bottles of the 6kg / 8kg / 12kg gas - can’t remember the brand but having named steps might make it easier to guesstimate!
  9. Geoffs 0.32g gave the best groupings in my testing with the MWS but since they have been so scarce I gave Warhead 0.32g a try - similar grouping (thumbnail sized at 10m) so I grabbed a kilo of them and I have been happy with them. Zero splits or misfeeds. The 0.28g are the favourite food for the TM M733 AEG and give better results than Longbow, Geoffs and Guarder.
  10. I have run the stock TM barrel and a CrazyJet one. Both were 250mm but the CrazyJet pushed the fps up by 15fps give or take. Grouping at 10m clamped was slightly tighter with the CrazyJet but there wasn’t much in it. Accuracy is fine for most ranges you might encounter and torso shots out to 60m with good conditions are possible. Sniping peeking elbows and knees at 20-30m is also fun 😈 If you are going to run a 370mm you will defiantly need an NPAS of some kind.
  11. I have had the chance to try out the Angry Gun 110% and 130% buffer springs for the MWS. I am running a stock TM bolt with Hao steel bolt end and AG alu buffer for reference. The 110% worked the same as a stock / the G&P it replaced. Will keep this one for winter or use with the DP lightweight bolt. The stronger one certainly speeds up the bolt return and rate of fire. Not had a chance to check shots-per-gas-fill but will probably be a little less than the ~120 I was getting before but if you are running this sort of bolt/buffer it isn’t about maximum efficiency 😂 UPDATE: I have since run a shot test and in 25degC heat, 0.28g and ASG Ultrair. I got 65 shots from 12g gas in a v3 TM mag (no mods) So just shy of 2 mags worth. The v2 mag with trimmed fill tube gave 105 shots from 26g gas and dropped from 290fps down to 272fps over the course of 3 mags (one shot every second, holding the mag to maintain temp)
  12. Also switch out the Cyma nozzle as they are usually leaky as hell 😂 AK2M4 should have a suitable o-ring nozzle (measure up the length with calipers to be sure!) and replace while the gearbox is open.
  13. I have a BFG holder from them and it is a nice bit of kit and order was sorted and posted with no problems. Not tried their mag pouches so can’t speak to them specifically.
  14. 10mm ID X 1mm thick for big one on the brass part. 4mm ID x 1.5mm thick for the front one. You’re welcome 🙏
  15. Hi, I am trying to sort a leaking output valve on a friends Webley CO2 pistol (might be a Well?) and despite greasing the orings and threads and doing the valve up tight it is still leaking when a bulb is fitted. Are o-rings for CO2 different to green gas use? Possibly due to higher pressure and lower temperature. Any ideas on sizes, if anyone has done this before?
  16. While FREC guidelines are just compressions, but a BVM or O2 (15L/m) are helpful 🤙🏻 While the BeeGees “Stayin’ alive” is the right rhythm so is Queen’s “Another one bites the dust” - just sing it in your head 😂
  17. So I broke out the spray paint and started blasting… TM M733 also painted but didn’t take a photo of that one.
  18. Nah, wife likes it too as I was a bike mechanic when we first met so it reminds her of when I was slim and handsome 😂
  19. I was told when training to FREC3 that as long as you didn’t go beyond your training (start trying open heart surgery in the safe zone) you would be safe. Basic life saving training is great as is noting down time of incident, what the incident was (fell from X meters / hit by car approx 20mph / fat sod tried running for the flag 😂), last intake (food/drink) and output, take the pulse every 5mins and note down with time. Plus any medical history, medication, etc. When the grown ups arrive tell them you have info to hand over and go through the details. Can save a lot of time and prevent duplication. Training over gear most of the time…or you end up with a pack like this (everything except an AED!) GoRuck GR1 plus admin pocket and side pockets!
  20. Yes, a small one in an LBX pouch. I have even sewn the top bellows part closed on the pouch to stop it flopping about - this would all fit in a combat trouser pocket easy. Plasters Compeed Paracetamol x4 Nurofen x4 Asprin x1 Immodium x4 Saline wash pods x2 4” burn dressing Eye dressing x2 Z-fold gauze Tweezers Tick Key Gloves 4” Israeli bandage, outer removed (still in inner vacpac - can use for chest seal) External: Shears Roll of electrical tape Enough to treat the main ailments - hangover, dodgy footware and under cooked burgers 🤢 Burnshield dressing for pyro users not good at the counting… Gauze can be used to pack serious wounds, at junctions and on limbs - much more useful than a TQ. You just need to poke it in with a finger 😳 One plea from me: get some basic training (FA at Work, StJohns, Red ross) and DON’T BUY FAKE TORNIQUETS FROM EBAY!!!! 😂
  21. Seriously tempted to paint the handguard and stock on my two retro builds (TM M733 and neo-retro-ish MWS)
  22. Pretty happy with this setup, has been several years in the making and refinement. TM MWS, a few minor changes to make it ambi and loft 0.32g BBs. TacBelts paracord ends for the Slingster keep it quiet and the Brownells forend keeps it old school. Waiting on a carry handle as they are like Unity Mounts but prettier. Spiritus Mk5 for 3 rifle mags and a pistol speed loader in a Esstac Kywi (kydex trimmed to allow the feeder lips to protrude…Matron!) I can top off 3 mags from this to save carrying extra weight. IFAK with actual kit I or others might need (make use of my FREC3 qualification somehow) FRV belt (back before they stopped actually supplying customers) with USP holster and TM USP, Direct Action dump pouch holding an M4 kywi for slick reloads and an added elastic leg strap a la TrexArms. Kydex Kustoms holder for the AlphaTex BFG. This set up is plenty for the usual skirmish and if I am really lazy I can run just the chest rig and Mk5 pyro on the elastic strap on the side. The coyote brown goes with most things, even the slightly faded SADF M83, and either civvy or Ranger Green gear.
  23. My XM177 is front wired AB++ with 2mm banana plugs for the power and signal cables. Colour code the heat shrink AND reverse the +ve and -ve connectors (female / male) so you can't accidentally get them the wrong way round!!!! Cracking little unit even if it doesn't play nice with my Warhead motor (2rd burst would have been a nice option but they just argue and fail to cycle properly 🤣)
  24. Went to fit the Bavtac spring and this happened! Guess I will run it as-is until the nozzle or nozzle spring fail then chop it up to get the useable parts out! Have some 1.5mm lefthand drill bits coming so will try and back out the remaining stub but not too worried. Need a few spare screws like that - seem to be M2 screws with button head. Having replaced the the selector (LH lever fell off - was AG one and threads shallow / sloppy) and hammer roller (WiiTech polymer one cracked, replaced with TM steel one) I could do with out any more dramas 🤣
  25. Bolle Cobra provide certified safety lenses with good coverage, have angle adjustable arms and come in different colours and Ultra Clear. Use an anti fog wipe at the start if each day and you will be sorted. Cost is between £12 and £14 from safety wear companies. I got clear, yellow and smoke, big zip case and antifog wipe for about £40.
