My secondhand MWS had a very hard life and there was a load of gritty mud in the trigger box that had caused a lot of wear and nasty feel.

I have replaced all the parts in the trigger box with the WiiTech parts and spring set. They are really high quality and nice finish, well worth the money.

I tried the marksman sear but got light strikes with the safety ON followed by another light strike after I took it off and pulled the trigger again! I tried it with both the TM and WiiTech parts - same result. GET THE REGULAR SEAR!

For lubrication get a small aerosol can of Graphite lock lube (less than £10 on Amazon or Ebay) and use that. Apply to the parts as you assemble the trigger box then wipe the gun down after…and don’t wear a white t-shirt! It is messy to apply and you will need to wash your hands about 8 times but it is very low friction and won’t attract dirt and gum up the action. I have had zero issues with trigger reset or bolt locking back since using it.

Right guys, so some of you may know that I destroyed my buffer earlier this week.

After much thought and discussion with @Davegolf from SixG, Dave has kindly made me a replacement buffer plunger. I also ordered the SixG HSB buffer spacer.

I must say I was very impressed with the quality but if you've ever seen the super nub you wouldn't be surprised! Fitting was very easy and took less than 5 minutes, and everything went together perfectly!

I ran about 5 mags through it, and it was incredibly snappy! And boosted my FPS by 10-12. I will be skrimishing on Sunday so I will update with a full review.

Right, grab a cuppa as this is a long one with charts and graphs!

So, having found that my current MWS set up was less than consistent on FPS I decided to play about with the parts I had to find the best (ie most consistent) set up available.

    Quick Notes:

RA Black NPAS - Lose fit in TM nozzle, very lose fit in Angry Gun nozzle (probable source of inconsistency) Requires safety-pin to stop it rotating while using special tool to wind in or out. Hard to see in nozzle when adjusting.

Angry Gun adjustable valve - Good fit in Angry Gun nozzle, was too large to fit in TM nozzle. Had a drop of superglue added to rear of grub screw to prevent it unscrewing and flying out the barrel! It was a good tight fit in the screw threads so unlikely. Easy to adjust with allen key, nozzle marked "+ more / - less" on the nozzle to aid adjustment

RA Silver NPAS - Had been sanded around circumference to fit smoothly in TM nozzle, was a bit lose in Angry Gun. Easier to see when adjusting it, again it requires safety-pin to stop it rotating while using special tool to wind in or out.

    Things I did not change:
Nuprol Green Gas / v2 MWS magazine, unmodified / 0.28g G&G BBs. Modify Tan Bucking / Laylax hop arm / Crazy Jet 250mm barrel. G&P highspeed buffer / SixG HSB / std recoil spring. Xcoretech X3200 Chrono The weather, sunny 22deg C. All tests conducted out of direct sunlight Dynamic Precision green nozzle cup (moved between test setups)
Magazine given a 10s charge, left for 30mins. Given a 4s top-up and left for 5mins between tests

    What I changed:

Initially I used the Dynamic Precision lightweight bolt for tests #1 and #2

Test 1: Angry Gun Nozzle and valve, Dynamic Precision nozzle spring. (GREY plot)
Test 2: TM stock nozzle, RA Silver NPAS, Dynamic Precision nozzle spring. (ORANGE plot)
Test 3: TM Stock bolt with RA Silver NPAS, Dynamic Precision nozzle spring. (RED plot)
Test 4: Dynamic Precision bolt, Angry Gun nozzle, Dynamic Precision nozzle spring, RA Black NPAS (this was conducted a couple of days ago, and kicked off the investigation, otherwise all the same) (BLACK plot)
    Results:
Have a look at the two charts, both have the same data, but the scatter graph has the best-fit line added to aid in looking for the most consistent set up.

The setup #3 was the most consistent, but changing to the DP bolt(#2) gave almost the same consistency but slightly higher FPS (maybe more gas efficient?) The one outlier at 305fps spoilt it somewhat so maybe over 20-35rds it might be just as good as #3?

The TM bolt, due to the extra weight, gave more recoil, but probably at the expense of gas efficiency. I feel this is an acceptable trade-off as the action was still pretty snappy (thanks in part to the SixG HSB) and full auto was still fast enough. The DP lightweight piston probably saves a little gas and can eke out a few more rounds from a magazine but it will likely be marginal and at the expense of recoil felt (if you want low recoil and high RPS....get an AEG!)

    Conclusions:
The TM Nozzle with the modified RA Silver NPAS seems to be the most consistent, it is likely that the bolt (TM or DP) has little bearing on the outcome in terms of FPS consistency. Recoil and gas efficiency is where these make a difference.

The TM Nozzle with the RA Black NPAS (built for the MWS system) is a loser fit and will likely have a wider variance, but not as bad as the larger internal-bore Angry Gun nozzle! (I would guess it would be around the 17-19fps spread...maybe one day I'll check!)

So, if you use Angry Gun parts...use the whole thing and don't change out valves/NPAS. Or better yet, if other experiences are to go by, just stick to TM!

If you are sticking with TM nozzles try the RA Tech Silver NPAS and spend 5mins with some fine wet&dry carefully sanding the external diameter until it drops in and moves freely. If you can find a Black on that is a suitable alternative...oh and in both cases carry a safety pin in your tool box to adjust it

Soon to be a member of the fine MWS club!

Was fortunate to try one for the first time last summer at South Coast CQB and it left a lasting impression...

Sold my TM MP7 GBB to help fund the purchase, and now awaiting the arrival of an MWS CQBR (will stick some photos up when it arrives)

I have a very long shopping list but I know what I want to do with it!

Its staying all black, and will be the complete opposite of my battle worn TM MK18 NGRS.

Awaiting HAO Industries to get stock on their 9.3" MK16 m-lok rails and then go from there.

I really struggled finding any UK stock for MWS mags, and no suppliers I contacted had anything imminently arriving.

So I've taken a risk and ordered 5 mags from Rainbow8, who I have used before but what with all the craziness going on who knows when they will arrive!

Right I'll shut up now, and continue reading this thread which is a gold mine of information! 👍

Picture of the MK18 (that will undoubtedly take a back seat as a back up now)

So with the lockdown, I've been drilling alot. At first i found the mws trigger to be okay, but after a year of shooting I'm now ready for an upgrade. Does anyone have a review on any triggers? I like the look of the g&p adjustable but thats alot of cash for something that has very little information out about it.

My misses decided to record me on the sly so thought I'd share. 😂😂

I can’t say if real steel trigger guards fit, but real steal grips will (although you need to use the original MWS bolt to attach them).

I had a problem with the attachment point from the trigger guard digging into my middle finger. I don’t think a different trigger guard would have fixed this as the issue was actually the bracket where the trigger guard attaches with the roll pin. I fixed it by using some ‘Sugru’ to fill the void and hide the sharp bit. It’s a neat job and looks factory.

ill try and take a picture later today.

@Cyberlawyer I personally run a 6.05 in my SRS Silver back. It gives more accuracy over range. 6.03’s are usually good in a normal circumstance. Plus I’ve always herd good things with Orga. But worlds your oyster.

Also bare in mind you want a barrel with good bore quality.

This weekend I’ve updated the paint on my Mk18 Mod 1. I wasn’t happy with the first results. Too pale. This has much more character and depth. And all the weathering is deliberate 😁

    Just waiting for some
more stock magazines, Angry Gun high speed bolt. (Thinking the bronze BCM one) and maybe start thinking about upgrading the trigger box to full steel.

Here are my two MWS builds so far:

Right one is a 13.5" build with a Trijicon 1-8x26 Accupower mounted with Geissele Super Precision mount, and Trijicon RM06 on a canted mount (I only use the RMR at really close distances where the hop up doesn't matter). This thing hops .43s at 2.35J and is an absolute monster. I out-range most sniper rifles at the field, and the gun is laser precise.

Left one is a 7" B.A.D. build, with an EOTech EXPS2-0-GRN. Working on switching the handguard to a real steel BCM MCMR to match the BCM bolt carrier, as the Fortis rail is omega-dumb (M-LOK on the sides, keymod on the bottom, why?). All gunsmodify internals, but I'm still hammering out some of the kinks with the gun. This thing performs superbly in CQB to midrange.

Let me know what you guys think!

@Cipher-032 I've used the Dynamic Precision one before without any issues.
Not intentionally, it came with one other the many MWS ive bought.

The standard TM seal does great, whatever you use keep all your BCG seals lubed up with silicone grease 👍

    Also RE nozzle return springs, I think the life of the springs is affected heavily by these factors;

    1. Hop bucking used; some hop rubbers grip the nozzle to tightly putting excess stress on the spring being held fully extended for longer with each shot cycle

    2. High power gas relative to ambient temp causing the spring to be extended to full length extremely quickly.

    @Bada Bing How are you?

I have to ask you something.

In my team, we have a lot of members whit Systema PTW. But some of them are thinking of switching to weapons with Blowback.

I've already  decide and bought a MWS. But the rest of my team are only considering the GBLS.

I've already give them my opinion that for the difference in price, it doesn't pay to buy a GBLS when there is the MWS option.
I also showed them your MWS review video.

I know they are different weapons, but in your honest opinion, is the difference in prices between the two weapons justified?
Is GBLS that much better than MWS?

I ask you this because I think that you  have a GHK vs GBLS video and a GHK vs MWs, but dont have a MWS vs GBLS.

    Thank´s

I do. As long as you do it in a safe and well ventilated area you should be alright.
I keep an eye on mine as they’re filling and weigh them as I go, this makes sure I don’t pump too much gas in. They can be charged with more gas than what they come with from new.

Over the past few years they’ve begun producing them with one way valves which prevents you from refilling. I have a couple which won’t take so much as a breath of fresh propane, even using the pre-chilling method.

I’m quite lucky as I have 3 cans which are older.

    Hi Guys,
My first post here. I'm from Portugal so, sorry if I write something wrong.

I had find this topic searching about the MWS in the net and I'm very happy to see a lot of info about it.

I recently bought my CQBR Block 1 (1 week ago) and I'm reading all I can't because is my first M4 GBB.
My last weapon was a Systema PTW.

I'm will follow this topic every day and hopefully exchange some ideas with the rest of you guys.

For now, I will do all the mod's that you guys advice here, like the green gas mod, and the 3 most important upgrades.
PDI Raven 6.01 mm Maple Leaf 60º  Decepticons Bucking  Nub (I already send an email for the SixG Super Nub, but dont receive any replay till now)
    EDIT:
I read something now saying that, if we only use 0.28g bbs max. It'ss not need to change nothing internaly. So... my question is:
I pretend to use Sturgeon or G&G 0.28g bb's. If I change the barrel and bucking I will see any improvment regarding precision and range?

Now a photo of my "baby".
I will do some changings, like DD Mk18 ris, and magpull grip. When it's done, I will put some photo here.

    Hi guys,

So I just finished my build. (For now!)
    Internally:
    DP bolt carrier.
    DP sealing cup.
Standard nozzle spring (it broke but I repaired it and have been running for 3 months waiting to see how long it will last.)
Guns modify recoil spring. (Not sure of strength)
    FG Airsoft restrictor disc 10%
SixG high speed buffer spacer. (HSB)
    SixG buffer plunger/standard buffer
    SixG super nub
    Modify X-range hop rubber 65°

    Externally:
    Clone Magpul Moe stock.
    Clone bcm gunfighter pistol grip.
    Vortex crossfire red dot.
    Krytac Defiance back up sights
Madbull URX 3.1 10.75" rail system.
    SixG barrel adaptor.
    Dytac urx rail panels.
    Cyma muzzle brake.

    Modify x range hop rubber:
Initially tried the modify tan, which worked well but the mound developed a rip fairly quickly, so I used the standard one for quite some time.

The standard one has lasted me the last 3 months of weekly cqb nights and fortnightly game days without any issue.
But I thought maybe there is something better and more consistent.

So after hearing good things, I brought an X-range in 65° and Wow is this thing awesome the first 35 shots I put through it seemed to be hitting the same spot at 35m without any bedding in. I got to try it last night in a cqb night, most engagements are at 15m or closer but I was certainly impressed! I will be taking it to the southcoast cqb Christmas event this Sunday for a full test at range and will update on my findings.

But of you need a new hop or just fancy trying things out definitely give this ago!

    Cheers Whisky.

I’ve had the chance to use the Modify X-range in a few games now. It’s held up fine over the 4 or 5 hundred bbs I’ve put through it. I’ve just started using .36’s (up from the .30’s I was using) at about 2 joules and that’s working really nicely with the bucking. One thing I’m noticing as maybe a negative is that with this bucking the shot seems very sensitive to hop up setting. Moving the hop wheel just one click has a big effect on the bbs movement. I’m not *sure* it’s more sensitive than before (with the original bucking), but I seem to be noticing it more. But, when I have the hop just right, I’m getting great consistency at 35 yards.

Realised I've been chiming in here without any show and tell, so here's my MWS... ("there are many like it, but this one is mine").

    Internals:
Angry Gun Super Recoil buffer kit (high speed version) DP enhanced nozzle spring set SixG Super Nub (obligatory!) UAC enhanced sealing buffer DP aluminium lightweight bolt carrier (I highly recommend this; noticeably improves gas efficiency and cycle rate) Angry Gun ambi charging handle Angry Gun steel bolt stop plate (combines well with the aluminium bolt carrier) Angry Gun Mil-Spec aluminium buffer tube UAC Match trigger
...all fitted and tested by John at Fire Support (top bloke). Also tried to fit a WIITECH hardened steel disconnector, but it played havoc with the trigger set up, so it got taken out. Just a word of caution if you're considering one yourself.

    Externals:
Mapul foregrip and rail covers 'Blagpul' stock Vortex Spark red dot I run it on Abbey Predator Ultra Gas using .28 indoor and .32 outdoor. Snappy as hell and shoots like a laser. Lurv it ❤️

My MWS Taran Tactical TR1 / John Wick DMR Build.  Not an exact copy as the real steel stuff as supplied on the original TR-1 is sooooo expensive. The scope mount itself is about £300 (from memory) so
I have found the closest I can. Internally it has a Prometheus 6.03 370mm inner barrel, Modify Tan Bucking and the essential SixG Nub (props to Dave).

A trip to Dave’s Custom Airsoft on the way home tonight where I picked up the scope as well as a Chrono so I will be testing the output tomorrow. My initial first shots were very impressive with .3 gram BB’s. Must have flown 60m straight without me touching the hop up.
