  1. Hi Airsoft Collective,

I am currently thinning out my Airsoft collection and came across these Mags. I got these when I bought an electric G36 back in the day, I switched to Gas powered within a few months and these were put on a shelf. They are PTS Magpul PMAG 30 so real cap mags

I know nothing more about them, compatibility, exact model number etc so I am hoping to tap into your knowledge to get some more details and a price for the 4 of them and individual.

    Cheers

  2. Hey RhysC97,

As 1st Commando said the performance out the box is insane and I haven’t noticed a drop off as the gas is used. Then the gas capacity of the mags is phenomenal.

On a side note, I have realised that my Umarex PSG1 isn’t fir me and I prefer more of a mobile role within Airsoft so I have decided to sell it. I have only fired it in my garden running about 5 - 6 mags through it. It has never been to an Airsoft field and it like brand new. It comes with 2 magazines, the full case, loader and sling. Send me a pm if you are interested before I stick it in the Classifieds.

  3. Although you are entitled to your own opinion and I to have been guilty of being focussed on a certain product that I wanted and screw everyone else only to realise that everyone on here that said don’t’ was right. The thing to remember is that the guys on here know their stuff and have no reason to say something is crap when it is not. Chances are if they say it is crap then it will be.

For that money I would go for an ASG CZ75 Shadow 1 for £130

    https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/asg-cz-sp-01-shadow-co2-blowback-pistol
It was the first pistol I bought, has run on CO2 all its life (3 years) and is still going strong still. All metal, solid, it has been dropped more times than I care to admit and all I have ever done to it was clean it.

  4. After playing around with a number of clones and being totally disappointed, I bought a Vortex 3x Magnifier:

    https://www.opticswarehouse.co.uk/vortex-vmx-3t-magnifier-with-flip-mount

Yes, it is a chunk of money but the quality is outstanding, the lenses are crystal clear,  the eye relief is unbelievable allowing quick target acquisition and of course the fully transferable Vortex lifetime warranty meaning it holds its resale value. I also run gas blowback rifles so that was also a factor in the decision.

  5. Hmm… well that didn’t work….

According to the Chrono it went up in power. Maybe the self voluming nature of a GBBR but surely with green gas it should drop. This thing is consistent though! Over 20 shots it ranged from 383 to a max of 390 on a .40 BB with Green gas. I made sure I purged all the red gas out of it before I filled it.

I am confused??. Guess I need to screw in the NPAS then….

Green gas it first. Always prefer to go the easiest route before sodding about with something.

Judging by that FPS though that npas is getting a good screwing

Ha ha, that’s what I thought. If I go the NPAS way, I will have tighten it almost to nothing by the looks of it!

I will try to pop out to the local Airsoft shop tomorrow and pick up some green gas although I may have some in my workshop so will have to check.

  7. I finally found some time to Chrono the Umarex PSG-1. Filled the Mag with Red Gas (as I have lots of it as I Run the various MWS on it). Popped in some .40 BBs, fired up the Chrono and…. Oh….

Well the good thing is it is very consistent however…. It Chronoed just short of 390 fps on a .40. That’s 2.78 joules. That’s a little hot!!

Now the PSG-1 is fitted with an NPAS, however I am going to grab some Green Gas and try it on that first before I constrict it with the NPAS.

What do you guys think? Green Gas or restrict it with the NPAS to bring it down to the require 1.48joules?

Just got back from my first attempt and it was pretty good.  Not going to rush off and get even more stuff just yet though.

Might try a woodland style game next instead of CQB, that might be more my style?

Woodland games are a completely different experience. I prefer them over CQB as CQB is just hectic!!

  9. I can’t stop making stuff!!!

My first ever Airsoft rifle was a second hand G36 which came with an underslung grande launcher and 4 40mm Grenades (the sort that shoot a load of BBs and a rubber bung). This has been sat in a cupboard for years so I decided to try to make use of it. As I don’t use the G36 anymore, I wanted to make it stand alone.

I stripped the hand guard off the launcher and designed a top to it that will hold the now detached aiming thingy (what ever they are called). 3d printed it out and now I have a grenade launcher that looks similar to a M320 minus the stock and fore grip.

  10. I would second @emergencychimpand say look at Vortex. I have one on my regular MWS and it has never missed a beat. The warranty is ‘If it breaks (we don’t care how), we will fix it’ from Vortex. Plus it is transferable which makes them hold their value. I have the Crossfire and will be getting another one very shortly for the John Wick conversion MWS. My Crossfire has been beaten up, dropped, slammed against trees etc and there is not a mark on it and it is still bang on zero from when I set it up years ago. Well as zero as an MWS can shoot anyway.

  11. Well… the initial excitement of getting the PSG-1 has wobbled a bit. I finally had some time and the wind had died down enough for me to zero in the Scope ready for next weekend. Gassed up the Magazines and started to adjust the hop. The first Mag I used was the one that came with the PSG-1 and all went well and I got the dead man man’s click when it was out of BBs. Switched to the second mag and all I got was dead man’s click. Pulled the magazine back out, added some gas (just in case) and it was full off BBs. Tried again but still dead man’s click. I then switched back to the original mag, reloaded the BBs but now have the same with that one. Just a click.

I then put the mag into dry fire mode (I think I did it right) and it worked fine, sending BBs down towards the target but then it just continues to dry fire when empty. I clicked it back into normal mode and still the same dead man’s click. The one thing I did do was try to put the mag in without cocking the weapon back so hopefully that hasn’t broken something.

I am not sure about setting dry fire mode on the mags and the Umarex website is down at the moment so double checking with the manual is a no go. Just for the record, the mags in the PSG-1 are the same as the Umarex G3 so anyone with experience of those as well would be appreciated.

    any ideas anyone?

  12. My purchase of the famous Austrians Plate Carrier presented me with a slight problem. MK5 Thunderflash don’t easily fit in the fancy laser cut MOLLE (although Mk4 Osprey pouches fit like a glove!!) so I had to come up with a solution.

I jumped into Fusion 360 and designed a holder for 4 thunder flashes and can be Velcro attached to where ever there is spare Velcro on the PC. 3D printed in black and then tensioned with shock cord. Very pleased with my invention (although I did get the original idea from a post on this very forum, sorry can’t find the original poster, thanks for the idea anyway).

  13. Hey Chai,

Unfortunately I am still using it or should I say will be using it. I have scavenged the Scope of it to put on the new PSG-1 GBB and plan on purchasing a Vortex Crossfire and 3x Magnifier so I can use it as a middle distance rifle. i.e. I have my MWS Block One for CQB and Skirmishes, my PSG-1 DMR for sneaky sniper stuff which leave a big hole in the middle which I hope will be filled by the TTR1. Soz.

Are Angry Gun still making them? I know they were extortionate when they came out. It does look pretty cool though! Excuse the Dogs paws in the photo, bugger get’s everywhere!

  14. Now firstly I am not a fan boi!! But I was in the market for a Plate Carrier. My criteria were - Lightweight (I previously had an issued Osprey Plate Carrier which weighed a ton and made you sweat like buggery) and that I could get a Hydration system to.

insaw that every one’s favourite Austrian had released a new camo so I had a look at it and quite liked it. Had a browse of the rest of his site and saw the Plate Carrier which has an open hexagonal plate and mesh panels to let the heat out. It also had a matching Hydration pack available so I pulled the trigger.

It turned up today and I am very impressed. It is solidly built and looks fantastic. I love the new Camo, I know some won’t and some may even not like it purely because Novritsch made it. Silly really if it is a good product.

lived the little pack that came with it with Stickers and a patch.

I agree that I now need to purchase the matching pouches from his site but I don’t mind that. In the meantime I am going to fit my multicam pouches. That will wind the Geardos up. 😂😂😂94955E64-23E3-48C1-AB35-A6B0A7B05715.thumb.jpeg.f7f552cb217a2c58bb950a7c5b67349e.jpeg4512AB35-473F-4ACF-A44D-EF4849F03E54.thumb.jpeg.bb8ef9b4bbe9e2d29a72ca68f660839d.jpeg8C88D055-2868-45C0-8AAC-1A1F6C7DFB75.thumb.jpeg.8d77af68921dac7bd449873766bcb539.jpeg

  15. Well, I had a delivery from everyone’s Austrian friend. I have to save the new pattern looks very good and no where near as orange in some of the photos. Very well made Plate Carrier and with the hex plate is super lightweight and breathable. It’s about 1/3 of the weight of the Issue Osprey plate carrier I had before.

I got the Hydration pack and Bladder as well after crouching in the undergrowth with 2 team members at Gunman Eversley and they all grabbed their tubes and had a drink whilst I was dying of thirst and wishing that my drink back at the Safe Zone was closer!!

I was also impressed with the ‘bag of sweets’ inside the box. It contained some Nov stickers (which will never be used), a Pistol Patch and some very useful BB weight stickers that will definitely be used on my plethora of speed loader so I can be sure what I have filled them with.

I agree with one post about having to get matching pouches from one place but I am going to use my multiCam ones for now and change as necessary. I am sure some Geardo will complain that I am mixing patterns but oh well…

overall very impressed and looking forwards to trying it out in game.

  16. Hey all,

I wanted to tap into the hive mind that is all MWS owners. As some of you may know I have an MWS built with the Angry Gun Tarran Tactical TTR1 Conversion kit (got it for a steal from a great guy in Holland). I had intended on using it as a DMR so fitted a Scope. COVID got I the way so I never used it in anger. I have now purchased the phenomenal Umarex H&K PSG1 GBB and for the mean time I have fitted the scope on there so need to replace the optic on the TTR1.

I am hoping to go Red Dot with a magnifier or something like that so that I can use it as a hybrid with a bit more reach but under the 350fps so no minimum engagement distance.

I have a Vortex in my other MWS so looking for similar sort of thing.

Am I completely off the mark or do we all think this is a decent idea. Looking forwards to the suggestions

that’s a very decent offer , thank you ! The fatal flaw in the plan though is id come home and HAVE TO BUY ONE 😛

I have the Umarex G3 and that has a fantastic kick to it so I can’t imagine the PSG1 being any less grin inducing :)

I think that is the perfect plan!

I have yet to fire it today but the 10 rounds yesterday showed it had a lovely kick and was pretty loud as well

  18. You can fit an NPAS to the TM. I have the RA Tech one fitted to my DMR version. They are very easy to fit and take about 15 minutes to fit. To adjust you just need to remove the bolt carrier which takes a second. As you have real steel, you will have no problem with this.

Have a look at BadaBing reviews on YouTube. He is a big MWS / VFC fan and does quite a few comparison videos as well.
