I love the Japanese - English translations they have on the bottom left of the display.

“The gun maker carrying out extreme sensitivity”

    WTF does that mean?? 😂😂😂

    looks cool though!!

  2. Well I have a nice project to work on!!

A while ago I bought the front end of the Angry Gun John Wick conversion for the TM MWS off a forum member  that had bought the full set to replace his upper that he broke. I had every intention of buying another TM MWS to build it into a DMR but never got round to it. Well about a week ago, I received an email from him stating he was giving up Airsoft and did I want to buy the rest of the JW kit plus the donor MWS. Well I jumped at the chance. For the same price of a new MWS I got an unused MWS, the John Wick/Tarran Tactical kit, Prometheus Barrel, TM Tracer Unit plus extras such as SixG Nub, Modify Tan bucking, tools etc.

I am going to build it into a DMR that mirrors the Tarran Tactical TR1. As can be seen it is essentially in kit form so I will be l learning a lot more about the inner workings of the MWS in intimate detail!! At least I have my other MWS to use as a reference 😳

Most definitely buddy. Sorry to see you leave Airsoft. Hopefully we will see you back here soon.

If its the Hurricane one, I would personally steer clear, I bought one and it broke within a few minutes. Don't think it can handle the strength of the MWS magazine's spring.

I have the Hurricane (WarMag) speed loader an I know what you mean. Mine hasn't broken yet but it feels like it is about to every time you use it. They supply you with 2 winding handles when it arrives which shows they must have problems with them snapping. My one bit of advice is instead of windong it with the handle itself, I grab the middle part of the winder mech like a dial and push it round with my thumb as low as possible on the winding handle. I assume that is what broke on yours @Yukarin?

I may look at getting the TM Speedloader XL although I have to say the tube and plunger supplied do actually work.

asg shadow pistol competition type thing which seems to have flopped considering I’ve never seen one outside of a shop.

I have an ASG CZ SP-01 Shadow and it rocks! Always getting man handled by other Airsofters admiring. The Pistol that is is, not me 😨. Also was playing at the Prison down in Portsmouth and there were 3 guys there with them. Maybe Combat South are the only guys who have sold them??

Unless you are talking about the Shadow 2 but I haven't even seen one of those in a shop.

I'm looking to get an original 10" barrel for my one of these as I only have the 14.5" and an aftermarket 16".

Anyone ok to part with theirs?

Are you looking for the inner and outer Barrel and the hand guard etc? I have an TM inner barrel (I have 2 in fact) and a hand guard plus fittings. I can't help you with the outer though.

  8. 2 minutes ago, itsme said:

i'm not sure what you mean, you had a hard time looking for a rail that would fit without the pts ring?

Oops, a bit of finger trouble with the typing. I mean't I couldn't find a PTS ring in stock anywhere apart from in Honk Kong last time. However that was about 2 - 3 months ago that I looked.

  9. 10 minutes ago, itsme said:

Does the kit need a pts ring to fit the rail or does the outer barrel have a "wider lip" as wo1f refered?

@itsme Not 100% sure but the lip on the outer barrel does look wider that the TM original from memory. Hopefully it won't as I struggled to find anywhere with stock last of the PTS Ring last time I looked.

  10. On  another note, I am now the proud recipient of rest of the John Wick Conversion kit that @LVOA-D bought for the upper and lower receiver.

Top guy and completely painless transaction. If only all purchases were like this!

I will be getting a second MWS and building a DMR with this front end. Cannot wait to start the build. The John Wick AR-15 is actually a Taran Tactical TR-1 Ultralight and plan to build it the same. I have already priced up the BCM Stock, Pistol Grip and foregrip through Brownells!!! What is happening to me!!! Luckily I saw sense when I priced up the same Trijicon Accupoint Scope and it was $1,399 before tax, shipping and import!! I will be getting something different!! At least I haven’t completely lost it!!

GBB guns mash up BIOs usually

I second Dave here. i used BLS Ultimate Heavy 0.4 and about 1 in 5 just split apart as it came out of the end of the barrel. Also left a white residue on my mags, bucking and inner barrel. It may just be this batch or this brand but I wasn't impressed.

Does your Element Holographic hold zero then?

Yes, so far. It was on an AEG before the MWS and has only been skirmished 3 times on the MWS but so far I haven’t had to tweak it.

First skirmish report with the MWS -  a mixed bag

    The upsides

Using .32s, range and accuracy was more than acceptable, reckon it could be improved with a good clean of the bucking and prehaps a new IB. But it can wait.

    Semi and full auto superb.

    The downsides...

Spring in the charging handle broke, small part snapped off, so the handle is loose and can bounce about when firing.

The Docter sight on my ACOG broke after one mag!!!! Irritating really. Also realised that aiming down the acog is a PITA.

Even in the fucking heat the mags couldn't always reliably spit out all the rounds, DEFO need to green gas mod now!!! (thought I could wait till the temp starts dropping)

Angrygun l119a2 gets loose, fucking stupid design using two grub screws to secure it to a round barrel nut, I'll have to find some DIY mod to secure it.

Looking for suggestions on good short range sights (i.e Holographics or similar) that don't lose zero or fall apart from the recoil. (No real steel please, i'm a student for fecks sake!!!)

Going to perform the Green gas mod on my magazines soon, any tips and tricks appreciated.

Most of my problems were not the gun in itself, Im still impressed by Tokyo Marui, as usual!

Glad to hear after all your problems you still love the MWS. I was looking at getting an ACOG with the doctor sight on it.... I take it you wouldn’t recommend an Airsoft spec one for the MWS? Sight wise I have the Element Holosight (https://www.combatsouth.co.uk/collections/scopes-accessories/products/element-aim-o-551-red-green-dot-black) for £40. Not had a problem with it so far.

Regarding tips for the green gas mod, the hardest part is getting the spring back in. I used a wooden kebab Skewer (basically a long thin wooden stick) and after sliding the first part of the spring back into the follower track, I slid the Skewer down the middle of the spring and into the spring track. Then push the spring down the Skewer back in to the mag. Then use your thumb and hold it in place, leaving about 5 turns sticking out. Remove the stick and put the spring guide onto the end. Line up the base plate to get the square base of the spring guide in its slot and press down. Secure with the screws and you are done 👍

I also used the Wooden Skewer to measure down inside the tube down to the top of the valve to make sure I wasn’t going to catch it. I cut my silver tube 1mm above the top of the valve. I put the Skewer down to the top of the valve and makes with a pen so I knew where the top of the valve started and marked it on the outside. Add 1mm up from that mark and cut it with a pipe cutter.

    hope that helps

Yeah I realised after I posted that, I’ve been looking at heavier weight tracers by Longbow and Geoff’s and they are all bio, so I assumed bio.....

Oh, yes I see what you were talking about now. Definitely staying away from Bio's now as a number of them split when shooting them and gunked up my mag and barrel. As @Davegolf said, they are just too soft for the MWS.

I can see why he might think that, if he is talking about the H nub which is much more angular, but agree with RobHedley - I don't think the SixG one will do that.

You run tracer in a GBBR? Brave! Whats your experience? What brand do you run?

I run tracers most Wednesdays in the World War 2 Tunnels down in Portsmouth and never had a problem. I have the ASG B&T Tracer unit  with Madbull .2 Tracers and it works perfectly.

@Wo1f I was looking at getting some Geoff's tracers as they come in heavier weights. Although down in the tunnels, with no wind etc and short engagement distances .2s are more than adequate.

  16. @itsme Not wanting to answer for @Wo1f as he is the originator and a huge font of knowledge but I can't see how it could cut the bucking. The edges are not severe enough and the distance the bucking will push into the concave is not enough to cause damage. Just my opinion of course.

On another note, having changed my barrel from standard to an Olga 6.05 250mm with the Modify Tan bucking and SixG super nub. I was wondering how it would increase my FPS. Having been cronoed the previous week at UCAP The Bunker using Abbey Vortex with .2 tracers at 270 FPS. Back at The Bunker on Wednesday using the same gas and the same .2 tracers it is now coming out as 300 fps with a deviation of 2 fps either way over 10 shots. Very consistent.

One moment of note, I was guarding an objective and aiming down a long tunnel. We could see the enemy creeping along in the dark. One of my team mates stated "Don't fire yet as you wont reach them". Basically he had just shot and reached about half way (He had spent 5 minutes listing all the upgrades he had fitted whilst in game!). Like a red rag to a bull, I took aim and fired a single tracer round, it rocketed down the tunnel with no deviation, sailed past the point matey boy's AEG shot dropped to the floor and cracked the lead guy in the chest plate. "Hit"... and the rest of the tangos scurried off into the darkness. Followed by a "Hmmm, wow" from the guy behind me. He collared me in the safe zone asking question after question. We may have another convert.

@RobHedley I would advise against using BIO BBs in any GBB gun unless it is stipulated by the site, BIOs are generally softer and not strong enough to put up with the abuse a GBB dishes out during the rather violent loading process.

Try running some more powerful gas, that will help with hop and BB weight.

The MWS is pretty robust and will tolerate powerful gas.

Cheers @Davegolf I will switch back to normal BBs.

Gas wise I have a full can of Guarder Power Up Gas that I could use. I will be playing in the Tunnels down in Portsmouth on Wednesday which can be pretty cold. My MWS was chronoing on the Abbey Vortex Gas at 270 fps so there is a bit of movement available. Hopefully the new barrel and the stronger gas won't push it over 350 fps?

    Hi @RobHedley,

Did you have to replace the barrel to fit the Modify tan bucking & supernub? Doesn't it go on the original?

@itsme I didn't have to replace the barrel as yes it would have fitted on the original. I wanted to fit a tighter bore to try and increase the FPS a little as it was running at around 270 fps.

Damn @LVOA-D, that makes my £8 gas block look completely crap!!!

    Looking good!!!!!

  19. Upgrade time!!

I ran the CQBR totally stock on Wednesday  at the Bunker in Portsmouth. Ran faultlessly and was shooting like a laser on .20 tracers. Crono’d At 270 FPS on Abbey Vertex gas.

Having already bought a Modify Tan Bucking and a SixG Super Nub, I wanted to fit them so I ordered an Orca 6.05 250mm Barrel. I have to say props to The Cage Airsoft. I order the barrel Friday early afternoon and it was in my hands Saturday morning with standard delivery!!

Got round to fitting the parts on Sunday. I started off getting a bench mark by firing .25 bb’s. I did some video but you can’t really see the bb’s flying so pretty pointless! They were reaching out to about 50m maybe a little shorter.

Stripped the MWS and fitted the parts. Pretty simple despite it being the first time I have ever done anything like this before. Loaded the mag up with .4 bb’s and after a little bit of hop adjustment they were flying straight and true. Judging by eye the .4s are still motoring some when they pass the point at which the pre change .25 bb’s drop down. Very impressed!

2 things of note, I had to put the hop up fully on to get the .4 bb’s to fly straight. Is this correct? As in are .4’s the heaviest you can fire? Also I was using BLS Ultimate Heavy .4 Bio BBs (got them from Camoraids when I purchased the rifle). A few of the bbs split as they came out of the end of the barrel and I noticed that the magazine follower had a white line on it with what looked like bb residue. Having never used bio bbs is this normal??

@RobHedley If I didn't get scammed I will give you a shout when it arrives. Should arrive late next week, early the week after that. Basically what will be left is the rail, outer barrel, gas block (providing the Strike Industries one fits), gas tube and the flash hider. Also it is not bravery, it's stupidity combined with an addictive personality disorder(I googled that, probably most people on the forum here could be diagnosed with it) :).

Cool, sounds good. They are exactly the parts I was after!! I look forwards to hearing from you. 👍

You may have an addictive personality but you will end up with the coolest toy!!!

  21. @LVOA-D Is it not worth contacting Angry Gun direct and seeing if you can just purchase the John Wick Upper on its own?? You never know, you got a 15% discount! Maybe suggest that they sell the whole thing as separate bits of kit as it is more than the price of 1 1/2 MWS if bought here in the UK. They may get more sales if people can buy it in stages.

sadly you would still be paying vat if you are within the EU. but I'm sure that they would be fine sending it to most other countries, it's not normally an issue as far as I'm aware. as always if you would like to double check it might be worth giving them a ring or send them an email. 🙂

Of course, its international you don't pay VAT. My excuse is that it was early and I was sat at my desk pre coffee!!

  23. Gents, I was just looking at the european shops you were talking about, wow you guys pay a lot for the MWS!! Not far off £600 for the guys who have stock!!

Fire Support here in the UK have stock of the MWS for £479.99 which comes out as around €547. Obviously you would have to factor in shipping, import taxes (??) but you would also be taking off the VAT (20%) as they cannot charge you if you are in not in the UK. It could be a way to go especially looking at the prices you guys pay. One thing I don't know is if they would ship outside the UK but then again we are still in the European Union.
