So FINALLY got some photos of my CTSFO loadout. It's a poor mans effort, costing below £300 (Considering my own topic post to post everything inc Links and individual photos of all gear, if allowed)? The "actual" load out cost over £1000, and I really like it, so I have picked out what I find as close to, on a budget :) Just missing patches (police ones) and knee pads. And of course, I have added my own personal touches as unique is what sticks out more right?IMG_20180131_223935.thumb.jpg.587400cba741d7e28fb3de45bd354360.jpg

I like this load out btw! (To cut down post length i removed the images except for the best pose lol)

  2. @Skara

Wow, even your skirmish is more competitive than the stuff at my site lol... Generally just capture the landmarks both sides attack/defend them. Team with most landmarks at end wins.... Or actual story driven where the most enforced rule typically is "defenders cant cross the border" which is down the centre of the map usually.

Good read. It's not as hard as you think it is. Considering saving up for a hicapa race build or a stubby dsg m4 as a loaner.

Alright I will have a read of that at some point. Thanks :)
Although that still requires me gathering the courage to take a gun apart. Hmm... Guess I can ask in the Classifieds about a cheap one thats already broken so then I can break/lose as many parts as I want lol.

DSG, decent gears and a decent motor can be had for well under £100 then chuck in some sort of microswitch trigger then you're set.

DSG? *goes to google then comes back before i even typed anything in* faster if someone explains it because I am a lazy teen-im 20... hmm... ok guess I better be adult and google it myself lol...
(I started airsoft in September and have zero tech skills lol, scared to take apart either one of my guns in case i break/lose a part in them)

Oh and I second the "if it works, it works"  same with the "if it's stupid but works, it works" approaches

  5. So the Magpul style sling I got with my Krytac bundle decided to run thin and I don't trust it with something like a gun on it. (If it was CYMA then it would be fine, but not my G&G or my Krytac)
So being the "brand elitist" I am.
I've got a genuine Magpul MS4 Gen 2 sling on the way...(friend in america is buying then bringing it with him when he comes here to visit so I'm dodging shipping costs)

    Cheaper this way.
Guess I'll just run slinglessfor now and avoid using my krytac due to its weight.

My team socks from rugby! Pretty tactical if you ask me.

Tbh I would much rather play tournament style speedball than airsoft but there's no such place in Scotland

They are very tactical for the application of speedsofting
Personally, I'd love to give speedsoft a go but the cost of the gear behind it for a proper speedsofter is probably a little outside my budget right now lol *looks over at his skirmish kit* got a bit money happy there... still not even bought the stuff for maintenance on it... hmm... I think I need a payrise...

But yeah, speedsoft looks like a lot of fun to me... Guess ill have to make do with just general skirmish kit for CQB for now though. (not that it's a bad thing, 11.1 Lipos and all that so can get some decent speed going)

The mags feed great and have a bit of wobble but I sorted that out by putting a little bit of sticky Velcro in the mag well and no wobble what so ever now.

I couldn’t believe how good the mags felt when I first got them as well very high quality. I’d recommend getting them, you get what you pay for in this case.

That's good news for me as I have 3 on order and they are expensive lol. Ill consider the Velcro tip as well so thanks for that

And yeah, i would hope they are good quality for the price! And for all the reviews they get saying they feel great lol.

  8. Bought a fair amount of stuff over last 2 weeks, can't be bothered to dig it all out for pictures.
1 x TM Hi Capa Mag
    1 x OneTigris sling bag
    1 x OneTigris 3 day pack
    1 x Lipo Safety Bag

    2 x 11.1V LiPo batteries

    1 x Load Bearing Belt

1 x Black Ripstop Cargo pants

1 x pack of 10 CR123A batteries (for my rail mounted torch, cheaper as a bundle of 10 batteries)
1 x LiPo Battery level checker

And unrelated to airsoft, a pair of OSREN Night Breaker headlight bulbs for my car lol

  9. Bought all this because I went to Defcon Airsoft again to pick up my Krytac from it's service.

    http://prntscr.com/idcbl7

RZR .25 bbs 3300 per bottle

Nuprol 1.0 and 2.0 gas cans. (Got a TM Gold Match, so warranty is 1.0 gas)

The nuprol battery was ordered and arrived same day but its the wrong C rating so its up for sale in the classifieds.

An element tactical torch with RIS mount and Pressure Pad

And the Nuprol Large carry case with eggshell foam :D

What isn't pictured there is the Imax B6 LiPro balance Charger (1 LiPo at a time version) that i bought off the tech guy as part of the service as well.

I'm thinking to buy a 9" model myself; so just a couple of easy questions: do you like it? what kind of mags are you using (just to know if they fit well or not)?

That's gonna be my first gun and I wanna make sure I will know what I have to do lol

Unfortunately mate, I am yet to skirmish it lol, still need the right LiPo batteries! (Defcon staff recommend the 11.1V in it, although i will be confirming this with other airsofters first)

Its gonna see its first use on 3rd February in my CQB game. So after that will be the time to ask if you can wait lol.

But other than that, I'll be using the G&G Hi Cap, that comes standard. And PTS EPM mags (150rd midcaps). Tried them all in the magwell and there's very little wobble so they should feed pretty well once loaded. Other than that im not much help, sorry mate.

  11. So I went to Defcon today.
Location is a bit awkward being Stoke, it's on a 1 way road and it's literally just at the end of a housing estate so you have to park in resident's parking (although apparently there is a pay and display parking on the street opposite, didn't personally see it but they said it's there). Other than that there isn't much else to say about the location.

Inside you enter a small hall which leads me to believe the building is a converted terraced house or something similar.
This does mean that it's showroom is tiny! Yet... everything was still on display really well.
It's definitely not the largest store in the world and it's literally advertised outside by a basic sign saying Defcon.

There is a range by the quick glance I saw, whether it's open to public I don't know, I didn't ask (will ask next time)

Staff there were amazing people to deal with. So friendly and honest to deal with. I ended up with 2 of them talking me through the different gun options I had, which led me to buy a G&G Wild Hog 7"
I ended up purchasing everything I wanted within 30 minutes and then spent a further 45 minutes chatting to other customers and the staff.
Although as with most small stores, their organisation was a little bit messy (And I mean, the boxed guns were just stacked up on the floor in no particular order) but this most likely due to the size of the store.

Either way, I can definitely recommend them as a store to use. Even if you go purely to pick up some bbs and have a laugh with the staff.

Just go to a soddjng game!

    No :P
It's much easier to ask everyone for every bit of info prior to going without even knowing whether you will enjoy the sport long enough to make purchases worthwhile.

What's the thing they say about the noobs who dived headfirst into buying without playing? All the gear and no idea? lol

  13. Hey all, I have used the search function and there was 1 topic before this one on Defcon airsoft, and it's from May and it's not really usable... So instead, I'm making this new one because I'm going there in person in the new year.

But until then, I thought I would share my experience with their online status.
    So firstly, the website itself:

    • Simple
    • Reliable
    • Updated often
    • Easy to navigate
    • And they have recently added a notification system that pops up saying who just bought what item. (seeing a lot of G&G CM16 Raiders 2.0 w/ETU selling, alongside a lot of Glock mags and Nuprol N-mag midcaps)

    As for contacting them?
I haven't used the phone number yet (as I'm terrible with phone calls), nor have I contacted their onsite tech (although a friend reckons he is really helpful and friendly).
But Paul, the admin email guy, has been fantastic.

    Super friendly

Rapid responses if they are open when you are email (I had a conversation over email with him with 10 or so emails, in under 30 minutes).

    Next day responses at least.
    Informative
AND he has put up with all my annoying questions really well lol.

As far as their online site goes, these guys look like a really easy place to buy from, and they are based in Stoke if anyone was wondering.

Anyway, I will update this topic with the edit regarding my in person store visit when it happens, but for now, if anyone else has anything to say about Defcon airsoft, put it in the replies below for us all :D
