  1. Helikon Squall delivered. First impressions are.....I fucked up the sizing, went for an L based on their size chart, confident I could wear it over my puffy aaaaand...truth is, I felt like the Michelin man (also sweating my ass off in 35° weather with a puffy and a shell on) So I sent it back and ordered an XL instead. Material feels nice, weight is nice, packs down small, I like the ventilation armpit zippers, not a fan of waterproof zippers (I see them as weak points, while a regular zip with storm flaps offers multiple levels of protection at just a slight weight/bulk cost) but heh, can't complain too much. If the jacket does what it says on the tin regarding to waterproofness and "breathability", I'll be impressed. And I will buy a 2nd one in Grey to have a backup for when my old trusty Salewa Terra buys the farm.
  2. Skating is a good shout. I'd also recommend BMX/MTB, even though the "entry" cost is much higher. A decent entry level BMX will not go much cheaper than € 600/700 (by decent I mean a product that has nice features out of the box and that can be upgraded later on), that means full Cr-Mo steel frame, integrated headset, mid BB as a bare minimum. Full Cr-Mo fork is a nice touch too. This will give you a future-proof bike that can be upgraded as parts break, while keeping everything "standard".
  3. I'll take the bait. 1J of energy is 1J of energy, it doesn't matter if it's fired from an AEG, GBB, HPA or springer, it's still 1J of energy. I've seen teeth shattered from 1J hits at 30 metres, I've had BB shards get into in my eye the last time I used mesh (the gun was a stock TM recoil, so 0.8J) from 30 metres. HPA doesn't sting more than AEG given the energy output is the same, if you think so then I suggest to read a physics book of your choice.
  4. Nope, Waco is referring to those you can find on Varusteleka, they're m65 style, bulky and heavy. The TRG/PRG jackets are in another league and even then, I didn't poo poo them, I kept looking for it but honestly, couldn't find anything worth (to me at least).
  5. Necro, but I don't care ❤️ https://www.helikon-tex.com/en_eur/ku-shj-tr-squall-hardshell-jacket-torrentstretch.html This just popped on the Helikon website, they claim 30k/30k which seems almost too good to be true, and the €220 price tag means I won't lose too much money if it's crap. (if it's good, I'm buying two)

      DerDer

Nice but needs a Tigerstripe option.

It's just been released, I expect Helikon to dish out more colours with time. Ideally I would have liked US Woodland or even A-Tacs, but Taiga Green is fine too.

      DerDer

      Needs a Brushstroke option.

  6. The G43 arrived yesterday and here's how it looks with the FTC mount Picture is clear and it's not overly heavy. The FTC has a slight wobble both when extended and retracted, but I don't think it's gonna annoy me too much At about € 100 for the lot, can't really complain.
  7. National Finals in October. Pretty excited to have a go at it again after the 2018's terrible result.
  8. Fuck multicam. RG is the way. (OD too even though it's inferior)
  9. Revision Sawflys get my vote. I have two pairs, one of which is used as everyday sunglasses.. Generally anything from reputable manufacturers will do the trick.
  10. The Aliexpress shopping spree continues! Since we are required to have a red light to signal we're hit during night games, and with me not wanting my expensive Streamlight Sidewinder being shot out, I have purchased one of these https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005005118740975.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.4.48433696nduIZ3&gatewayAdapt=glo2ita It also lets people know that I'm a literal dickhead sometimes
  11. The "problem" with molle rigs is that money adds up quickly when considering pouches. With that being said, I had a TT mini mav for a while and I really liked it, I ran it on either a simple triple M4 pouch or a double + a 4x3 GP. The only "downside", if we can call it that way, is that it's not swift clip compatible so you can't strap it to a plate carrier, if that's your jam. Failing that, the Helikon TMR, it's €100 but it's very well made, even though it has fixed pouches it takes M4 and Ak mags just fine. A subgun insert can be jerry rigged (thanks to @SgtTalbert's idea), but tough cookies if you run AR-10/7.62x51 style guns). If scalability (and future proofness) is a requirement, then you can't go wrong with the Ammo Hub from @TheFull9, it's not the cheapest solution but it's very well made and it'll take any insert/pouch you want. Doesn't come with a harness so you'll have to pick your own too.
  12. Once I get everything, in about two weeks! It'll be my first magnifier so I really don't know what to expect and, to be fair, I'll probably use it once or twice then throw everything in a drawer.
  13. An Aliexpress G43 to go onto an Aliexpress FTC and an Aliexpress G43 Killflash.
  14. Ordered this tail switch, this bit holder and this bit holder from AliExpress. The smaller one goes into my kit as a complement to my leatherman (along with a few selected 6mm bits), the larger one goes into my field toolbox. Tail switch will go on my repro m600p because I like the option to have both permanent and momentary on functions. Now, onto some tracers..
  15. What if I turn a ML MR-Hop into a R-Hop?

    1. Steveocee

      Steveocee

      You have a ML MRR-Hop

    2. Lozart

      Lozart

You'll break the very laws of physics and shoot yourself in the back of the head.

  16. So instead of fixing the rifle, you kill the batteries instead. Interesting. EDIT: you as in KryKrack
  17. Currently I'm using the stock chamber with a GS TDC turret. GS TDC is nice but it's HUGE and it's very easy to knock it off adjustment, also I wanted to try something new
  18. You have two options: A) A chest rig that takes inserts (Spiritus Systems Mk3/4/5 chassis, F9 Gear Ammo Hub, Haley D3CRM and clones) B) A chest rig with TACO style pouches, they take all sorts of mags C) Helikon Tex TMR, although this one is weird because the two side rifle pouches only accept AR/AK mags whereas the two middle ones are wide enough to take AR10 mags. Most chest rigs are perfectly fine in conjunction with a belt as long as you wear them as intended (clue's in the name, CHEST rig, not BELLY rig), the sole exception being something HUGE like a Platatac Peacekeeper or an older RRV style rig.
  19. Bought this hop unit for my T-11; Next week it'll be this tracer plus whatever tracer 0.28/0.25g I can find. And maybe in two/three weeks another couple of pouches from Baribal.pl
  20. That is how airsoft is ran here in Italy. We don't have sites, we have clubs (teams), each club has its own "field" either private or public, each club member pays for a yearly insurance fee (not much, about €23) + yearly club subscription fee. Rentals are managed through one-time use insurance "cards" + whatever equipment the club has. Treating airsoft as a business leads to very poor choices imo.
  21. Maple Leaf's hardness chart is bollocks anyway.
  22. That is a very true statement. For regular game days I won't need anything past a windshirt or a level 5 type softshell even in the harshest of downpours and usually I don't wear anything apart from a tee - combat shirt unless it's particularly cold (say sub 10°), thing is, I don't do skirmishes only, I also play long events where I don't have the chance to go back to my car and change or have a building/base/safezone I can return to, it's why I want a proper rain jacket. I like the idea behind the PCU system of drying fast rather than trying to keep dry (which is impossible), but for those moments where I'm stationary for whatever reason I want something that stops rain/wind and lets my wet layers dry underneath. When moving I don't expect to stay dry, I'm either soaked with rain or sweat anyway so a windshirt/softshell will do.
