  1. Hilarious DMR for hilarious games. Far from its final form, I'm still missing a TTI trigger (red), TTI charging handle with external fire selector (red), Hadron "bouncer" short stroke kit and a CowCow G18 hammer set. And maybe a Stalker TDC because the Mamba's window is narrower than the stock one, which makes adjusting the hop a bit of a pain. As of now the only internal modification I've done is a 60° Maple Leaf Decepticon rubber and I-Key. Performance wise it's stupid, 60m range on 0.3s at just about 1J of energy, great consistency (say 5" groupings) and despite the optic being 1kg alone, it's still super lightweight. (also one of the screws on the grip is missing, it actually stripped itself to all fuck for no reason)
  2. Yeah, when we realized it was nothing serious we proceeded to mock him for the rest of the day
  3. Yup, although for me they are taking the skill element out of the equation. Back then, we used to overcome the opponent with skills, whether it was about camouflage, or picking the right moment to fire or going for a giga flanking manoeuvre. Now though, with all the "pay to win" plug and play r-hopped barrels, people are more inclined to sit behind the same tree for 20 minutes plinking at each other from hyperbolic distances, effectively making games more static.
  4. Mhm.. mine are both gen 1s but I think I'll buy two cowcow sets soon (I'm ordering stuff for my teammate too). Also TTI's new charging handles with external selector seem to be available. This pistol is turning into a money pit though
  5. The day didn't start too well, with me deciding not to carry the aap smg and a teammate tripping and bashing his side torso quite hard on an exposed root on the 2nd game. Nothing serious but he got us worried for at least 30 seconds. Games went relatively well despite the heat and humidity being annoying, didn't play a single defense which is unusual for me (I try to play at least 70/30 just to have some variety).
  6. Hammer gone already? How many shots in total?
  7. http://www.action-army.com/images/parts/EDM/U01024/U01-024_EDM.htm Of course they release the fucking M-Lok handguard ONE week after buying the mamba But anyway, today I took the smg to the field, although I didn't actually play with it. out of boredom I installed my visionking short dot and did a quick zero, I can safely say it's the perfect match lol. I'll run it next Sunday as a primary.
  8. It's a one piece cylinder, it's supposedly stronger than the usual brass one you find on 01s and 02s, but there have been reports of bad machining (well it's Ares after all and being a single piece I imagine it's not too easy to manufacture) with sharp edges and burrs on the inner wall.
  9. That mount reminds me of a fucking giraffe. But anyway, iron sights are the best thing ever for Airsoft. Can't stress that enough. Carryhandles especially as they also give something to....well....carry the gun and they look good
  10. Tfw you replace a 50° rubber with a 70 and you gain 0.2J 😕

    bollocks.

      Eh...

Can't use that gun anyway as the internal suppression thingamajig I made just died and I can't be bothered to rebuild it..

      AEG time tomorrow -.-

  11. Ye a bloke called Novritsch has a few, unused.
  12. Yeah it's literally the only one I have available, I might shorten it down by one section as it's purely aesthetic. I'm not sold on the T1 though.. This one only has one skirmish under its belt, I might bring it this Sunday if I decide to play sniper, although given the stupid range and consistency it has, I might as well use it as a DMR-ish primary. That is, if I don't strangle myself to death trying to sling the AAP, bolty AND the mk23
  13. Not too shabby, all things considered.
  14. This kind of testing is best done with the gearbox closed and the tappet spring installed (real operating conditions). Glad you sorted it out for not much!
  15. Does it seal and feed correctly?
  16. Shame that my triggers and short stroke kits are still somewhere in country, I don't like ripping apart guns more than necessary. But at least I got something to do tonight.
  17. The last Action Army Black Mamba upper available (at a decent price) in Europe. It came with a 3d printed charging handle which I never asked for, but eh. Also bought a 70° MR-Hop for the T-11 to try out
  18. Oh. Okay. Then forget about this conversation
  19. Yes but I'm pretty sure the issue is in the nozzle/rubber matching. You could somehow fix that by applying some heat shrink to the cylinder head, so that it seals against the hop rubber's lips. Mind you that this is far from a permanent solution. It seems to be a MR only issue, decepticon/autobot rubbers are actually fine and seal properly.
  20. Keep in mind that the MR is known for leaking, personally I haven't noticed anything major but it might be the reason for your fliers.
  21. Yes, in my AK when I installed the Combat Union hop. The stock E&L nozzle was too fat and it would not go into battery (read into the hop rubber to create air seal). The CU chamber comes with its own nozzle though so it was just a matter of replacing the stock one. Since it's an aluminium nozzle you could carefully measure the inner diametre of the hop unit and turn it down to spec, you just need a drill/dremel, some really fine sandpaper and calipers. Your best bet, imo, is to find someone with a bunch of spare nozzles and try them individually on your setup.
  22. I ordered a 70 MR for my t11 too! The 50 seems fine but given my experience on AEGs I figured I'd give it a go, maybe it'll give me a flatter trajectory. Will also need to paint mine. I don't like painting guns but I reckon it's the quicker way to not run around in the woods with a big black....stick
  23. Externals, mostly. Metal Specna receivers seem to be somewhat flimsy and as far as furniture goes, they don't really offer much (apart from the latest E/C-20+ models and their URG-I rails, which I will buy at some point). Also one good way to cheap out is on motors and gears, this is where even the "top" brands fail, most of the times you're given ferrite motors and anemic gears (apart from E&L because they come with SHS gears and some pretty dank neo 16tpa motors that are comparable to SHS HT ones)
  24. It's more about the slightly improved response and rate of fire over a mechanical switch than anything, trigger contacts will wear out faster but it's more likely to destroy the plastic housing than to burn the actual plates..... Unless of course you only spam that trigger in semi auto
