Hehe, I do it too sometimes. Anyway, I'm still looking for a type B mamba upper (I don't like the snakeskin like pattern on the side), but all I can find is -stupidly overpriced- type As. I feel like AA rushed to release stuff and now don't know what to do. I mean it's been a good while since they first announced the m-lok upper/handguard/thingamabob or whatever the fuck that is. In the meantime they announced and released more cosmetic stuff like triggers and extended magazine release buttons. What I'd like to see is a monolithic polymer upper receiver with a long top rail that sits flush with the stock, a bottom rail for a grip/torch and a metal thread insert, that can still be used with the stock 129mm barrel. Kinda like a black mamba, but with more thought put into it (the misaligned rails when the stock is installed trigger my OCD).

Lonex Flash Mags for me too, go for metal ones, they are a hair heavier but they are compatible with a wider range of guns (the fancy polymer ones don't fit Ares polymer receivers and need sanding). Just be aware that the newer ones seem to have QC issues regarding the small anti reversal spring that keeps the mechanism from unwinding! Especially on the polymers, at least one dies every Sunday (touch wood, mine are now 6 years old and they are still going strong, despite the abuse). Check the anti reversal spring, it might have snapped.

Thanks @Lozart, very helpful images! I'll dick around with it a little bit tomorrow (national holiday), but I think I'll keep it without inserts for now and remove the bungees. You could use the MP2 inserts, but you'll need to make a (4 actually) small spacer that pushes the insert against the bungee loops, which will also raise the mags a little bit.

Depending on your grip, you may want to move it on the top rail and subsequently move the front sight back a little bit. if you c-clamp like a boss you can activate the switch with your thumb, at least that's what I would do.

So, first impression: It's lightweight, worryingly lightweight! I think it weighs half as much as the TMR unloaded Judging by the pictures I found, I was concerned about it being tall (more than 3 molle rows) but in reality it's about as high as a standard GI magazine, which is fantastic as I can wear it high and tight (so it doesn't interfere with my belt). Magazine pouches: The 4 rifle pouches are tailored for GI mags, my Lonex Flash Mags fit snugly and I don't think I'll need the bungees nor kydex inserts. The pistol pouches hold Glock mags just fine but they are too narrow for mk23 mags. They do fit perfectly into the two side mag/torch pouches though. Can't wait to try it out next Sunday!

Yesterday's game was an absolute blast! Decided to run just the pdw + drum mag and a small backpack, no belt, no chest rig, no sidearm, which turned out to be perfect for the 20°+ temperature we faced. We went for a "training day" with shorter games (10 minutes tops) since we have a tournament scheduled on the 11th of July. We also have a lot of new members who are willing to participate but have no experience, so we took the opportunity to teach them a thing or two. Overall a really good day, good hit taking and a couple of mega facepalm moments. One in particular in the last game: Picture me and three others moving through dense bushes in a sort of diamond formation with me at the back being the squad leader. We somehow missed the last defender who was lying prone inside a bush and he ended up right in the centre of the group. He takes me out with a burst to the legs, my teammates instead of magdumping said bush started returning fire in all sorts of directions except where the shots came from turns out the defender almost wiped out the entire squad if it wasn't for one guy with just a bit of common sense who opened fire in the right direction Technical side: the new Perun V2 Hybrid ran spotless, I just need to source another pdw stock (will most likely order directly from King Arms) because the stubby fixed is a little bit too short and the standard buffer tube + crane I don't like the looks of. Next Sunday, sniping time.

using wider bbs isn't anything revolutionary. 20+ years ago Marushin and a few other manufacturers made stuff in 8mm, they've been around for a while and judging by how many bb manufacturers make 8mm bbs, you can guess how well it went

But as I said, all I wanted for that gun was performance Now, Retro Arms made a similar hop chamber (with basically the same arm and tensioner design) at a lower price point, I think it was around €40. But I had bad experiences with the older RA model (the silver + red ring one) so I kinda have mixed feelings about their chambers now.
