  1. Well, I can't avoid it any longer: that's all the airsoft gear going up from the garage to long term storage in the loft.

I'll probably keep dropping by here though as we'll need some distraction from the constant doom about the Chinese Virus Communist Bioweapon.

Starting to wish all the money I spent on airsoft gear was on a better graphics card now.

I'm the same at the minute. Contemplating moving the gear from under the bed up to the loft. :(

Keep looking at nice new things to buy and then going "Wtf are you doing - none of this will get used for months yet.."

Saving lots of money though at least.. 🤷‍♂️

Mines all out of site too now and stored away... expect my  417 which I keep polishing coz it's nice to look at ... may even get some autoglym out at this rate!

Let's face it there will be no games for the next 3 months anyway and I hazard to guess a few more after then....

  2. Proper chortle. So, after posting my pic (above) to Facebook's Airsoft Heretics group (worth a join), this chap was inspired to make his own Astra Militarum gear in one 40-hour week constructing frenzy. Have I started something? After all this blows over, I'm half seriously wondering if it might be possible to put together a squad of the Emperor's faithful at some national event or milsim-lite. I mean, it is milsim, just from 38,000 years in the future.
  3. Now, now, that's not a fair comparison. You've have to pay another £10 to get it in two tone first, then strip it off.
  4. The issue isn't them generating one tracking number in a just-in-time fashion, it's repeated generation of them, no correction when the item didn't ship, and "the dog ate my jigs" story. One lie is happenstance, twice is co-incidence, third time is enemy action.
  5. Repeated fictional tracking numbers? I call fraud by false representation on that. That reminds me, I never heard back from Trading Standards about SWAT Training devices, who to this day are still marketing VTGs as being available from stock.
  6. Yarp, decent stuff, that. Is it wrong that I keep checking the BBgunz4lezz breakers yard for a Double Eagle M83? Dayglo orange, ideally.
  7. On any private land to which you can obtain access with the express permission of the landowner. Please, please, for your sake and ours, don't go full Bush Wookie in the nearest thicket, or some farmer's lower field. Just go and play at the nearest proper airsoft site. Nobody will give a fraction of a half of a stuff if you're rocking day glo green IFs.
  8. Wow, lovely stuff. Props, or with shootable internals? I guess I'll re-shill my Imperial Guard kit since @Musica bumped the Load Out page 30 seconds after I posted it there. The helmet is just a MICH that needs some work. The armour and gun shell (around a G36 with an M4 magwell and short VN style mag) are EVA foam which turns out to be great for LARP airsoft use. Cheap, easy to work with, light, and takes all the sting out of hits while still giving a distinctive noise and feel that has allayed my initial concerns about accidental God Mode. What's interesting is just how much of the initial pattern I had to remove in order to make it usable. Big sections around the arms and neck, and that large side gap isn't accidental, it's to give sufficient movement between the front and back to stop the thing riding up when I bend and twist and shout. You'll see cosplayers with more complete armour including solid side plates, but they're mostly just posing in it, not moving and aiming.
  9. Good spot. 530fps @ 0.2g is 2.6J, which means that's an air rifle, not an airsoft gun. Does it matter? Well, I could get 2 years in gaol for purchasing or owning that.
  10. About to die for the Emperor (or be TK'd by @Musica) in 3... 2... (References: https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Astra_Militarum )
  11. Oof, that's the 2nd recent report of buggered blasters. Good to see a retailer not arguing the toss though.
  12. For a few shots, maybe. Of course, that's your, uh, "warranty" voided right there. Dreamer confirmed.
  13. The only thing I can suggest is checking that the barrel is right in, and clipped into the hop. On my Galaxy / JG clone MP5K, it's an absolute sod to get the barrel and rubber to go deep enough into the hop unit to get the securing clip on.
  14. Put it in your basket, wait 24 hours, for those not in the know. I don't know if the other BBgunz4u style sellers do similar, but it would be worth a try.
  15. http://www.patrolbase.co.uk is the default suggestion for reasonable priced stuff with few junk options. If you know exactly what you're after, and why, and are prepared to be patient to get the secret discount codes, the "BB" retailers can be (just slightly) cheaper choices. But if any of those don't apply, avoid.
  16. Off topic is the best topic. First, I didn't know that there was a "real" Odin when I got my knock off, I just heard about these magic "side winder" loaders, and ordered by cheapest on eBay. Brand recognition and marketing is Odin's to buy, or not. Second, well, yes, I am too cheap to pay £50 for an Odin loader. Really, no way, no how. Odin wasn't getting my money anyway. Likewise, TM didn't lose out because I bought a CYMA. If the cheapest toy gnus were £400, I'd never have got into this hobby in the first place.
  17. Asks that. Consider whether the "seller" really wants to shift it, or whether they're just doing it for form's sake. They're not magic, offer half the new price. Or just buy a CYMA and outrange them.
  18. Sure, if you cheap out on TM plastic crap, what do you expect?
  19. After many many many emails to "Evan" at Acetech "UK" (snort, guffaw), I was rather surprised to receive a text from DHL saying that my parcel from Acetech will be delivered next Tuesday. Followed by a demand for import duty, fortunately only £3.04, for my "LED SEARCH LIGHT". Well, well. Let's see what I actually receive, but it is looking like they do support their product.
  20. Yes, I "helpfully" linked to the retail items. It does come with an extra clipazine, I guess, and is only slightly scuffed.
  21. Oh, I wouldn't have another. I'm still having a back and forth with Acetech, who seem determined to drip feed everything they want me to tell them one email at a time, rather than just listing it all up front. Who do they think they are, airsoft site owners?
  22. I know, right? It does feel weird, and I have a dislike for destruction and discarding rather than repair, but it wasn't for being fixed.
