And that's the right way to do it. Sadly though, guns are usually sold quoting fps with 0.2g, so you'd be looking at: Fully auto AEG <= 1.2J <= 360 fps with 0.2g Semi auto DMR = 1.68J = 426 fps with 0.2g Bolt action = 2.32J = 501 fps with 0.2g See http://www.asiaairsoft.com/index_topic.php?did=23&didpath=/23 Those are pretty standard limits for the UK, although most sites will quote in fps (with 0.2g) of 350 / 425[*] / 500 [*] DMR limits are all over the place from site to site, typically being anywhere from 400 to 500 fps / 1.5J to 2.31J

Off topic, but I'm playing my Friday night joker. Many years ago, when I was too young and dumb to know what couldn't be done, I cobbled together a T&J Locust Lotus 7 replica kit car. it consisted of a poorly welded ladderframe angle-iron chassis, an aluminium skinned plywood (yes, wood) body tub, and various random Mk II Escort, Cortina and Triumph Sprint and Dolomite parts. I shudder to recall the bodges that I did to get it running, but my God you knew you were driving it. Something like this, although mine never looked that complete. I ended up literally giving it away between breakdowns because my conscience couldn't stomach taking money from someone in return for that absolute death trap (the seatbelts were bolted into the wooden body tub...). I fully expected it to be in a ditch / in pieces / on fire, or some combination of the three within months. Tonight, out of sheer random curiosity, I just bashed the registration into https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk and love a duck... An actual thing that I made with my own two hands a quarter of a century ago is still on the road, MOT'd, taxed and insured, and according to the MOT record is racking up a couple of hundred miles a year, every year. Just... wow. I am in equal[*] parts horrified and delighted. [*] 90% delighted.

Speaking of sites that don't provide basic info, I think Ryan said that the Wargames Centre is run on on an "ask if you wish to receive" basis, which hacks me off as it's a great way to ensure that your membership dwindles away.

Sonuva gorram beach. My MP5K with a 249mm ZCI barrel - but this time with the PTFE tape removed and some actual hop applied - chronoed at 348, 346... 352.
Back in the bag it went and out came the backup G36C.
Only after getting home and jumping on AK2M4 did I have a "... wait a second..." moment and remembered that I'd already bought a 229mm ZCI, which is in the backup-backup M4 which was in the bag keeping the G36 company. Could have had that swapped in in a few minutes.

Tracer's on the pistol, this is just a suppressor. It's got spring-and-foam internals, which were influencing the BB flight (as in, it was all over the place). Being an honest sort, I took the suppressor off and went and got it re-chroned, and it came out just barely over. But over is over. I mean, for that particular chrono, which is a rant for another thread.

It's a decent idea and I'm not opposed in principle. In practice though, how many folk are there in the UK who would describe themselves as professional airsoft techs? A few dozen? And how many of those have an engineering qualification or time served? Then, how many customers would value a bit of paper over a low price, or a good recommendation? I mean, how many people even check (or know to check) that their chosen sparky is NICEIC registered, or equivalent? I guess there's only one way to find out. What's @Seth_Erebor up to at the moment?

From the regular horror stories we see here, I'm not sure there are any reliable techs, let alone ones capable of teaching or certifying others.

Mmm, I do sympathise with the site owner, he's put loads of work in and arranged for extra facilities for the weekend, and a bunch of folk (I infer both players and marshals) have booked up front then told him with under a week to go that they won't be showing up, citing sickness (must be pretty bad if you know that far ahead that you won't make it) but also "holidays and weddings". How could that have come as a surprise?
Bad news for everyone, although the way it's being handled is pretty amateurish. No automatic refunds, he's assuming that we'll either want to roll the booking forward or will attend a regular skirmish day on Saturday and get credited then. Yeah... but no. That's the thing about running a big weekend mislim, the extra numbers come from people who wouldn't normally have made the trip.
It's only £10, but having to ask for it back in the first place should be unnecessary, and having done so, if it doesn't show up in the next day or so, then I'll just be opening a PayPal dispute and that's the last that site will ever see of me. And I get the money back either way.
Why is it so hard for people to just do the right thing, for the right reasons, and for their own benefit? -
