  1. Bear in mind that the definition was only nailed down in 2017. Retailers should know this by now though. If they're selling Section 5 firearms, I want them out of business.
  2. How do these things ever work?

Trying to restore the air-seal on my MP5K, we're talking tiny fractions of a mm in barrel alignment between "won't feed" and ""dribbles out".

Never, ever replace the stock parts in your gnu. Ever.

Ironically from going too hot it's now weak tea. Those MP5K hop units are cray cray, they don't seem to want to match the profile of any hop rubber that I've tried, and I'm not even sure where the original has gone.

Well, after hours of fiddling it's working fine in the garage now.  What could possibly go wrong on the way to chrono. ;)

I feel your pain.  I lost the c-clip on my GHK AK last night and now the barrel won't go all the way in so the airseal is shite and BBs just dribble out.  New c-clip on the way.......

  3. It might be, but Golden Eagle clones cost less and (notionally) come with a warranty. But, but, TMs are more reliable. But, but, that's a broken one.
  4. If you're very lucky you'll get chrono and shooting. On that, I do enjoy Bad Influence Airsoft reviews. No nonsense, just bangs straight in to the stuff that you'll care about. Often amusing along the way, but never as an aim in itself.
  5. A terse intro without earball bursting music.
  6. That had occurred, and I've got a M4 magwell converter, but it doesn't feed particularly well. Mind you, neither do G36 mid-caps.
  7. I'll try and take some pictures as I go, but I'll be flakking off first.
  8. "G36 lasgun conversion" turned it up. I've been minded to do some 40K Imperial Guard toy gnu dress up for a while, and have just started on the body armour[*]. The gnu itself is trickier, but I reckon swaddling a G36 in EVA foam should do it. It'll come out chunky and oversized, but that's apropos for the grimdark. I reckon it should be possible to make a complete sleeve that slides over the gnu, from the front backwards, and another piece for the stock that slides on from the top downwards. Good enough for space army work. If it doesn't work out, I've got an shortie M4 with a bit of a hooky air seal that might do instead. Or in extremis, I might just laspistol my AEP. [*] Caveat: I'll have to be super aware of hits, but then again I often call "hits" where someone has just pointed their gnu in my direction and pulled the trigger, regardless of whether I felt anything or not.
  9. Oops, missed this. You can replace the grips on any 1911, they're screwed on. However, I would not recommend getting one. Raven is a sub-brand of Nuprol, who just take the cheapest stuff that they can get their hands on and punt it out with a big markup on it. You're therefore two brands removed from the company that actually made it - that's not a recipe for improving quality control.
  10. Oh hai, just bumping this thread since I appear to have wrecked the air seal on my Galaxy hop unit doing a tracer mod to it. Since this is one of the top hits for "Galaxy MP5K hop", I thought I'd mention that the closest looking unit that I can find is listed as being for a Jing Gong MP5K, e.g.: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/163763040376 I'll confirm or correct that information when it arrives. [UPDATE] Yarp, the Galaxy hop unit is a clone of the Jing Gong. However, I appear to have bought the last one on the planet, so this information might not be that useful.
  11. And they'd only been there a year. Sounds like shenanigans occurred: Hammer II Operation: let's just say it was all a bit underhand. It is an amazing site and a great landlord. We were just put in an impossible situation I'm guessing some sort of council / planning / complaints stramash. Looking to stay in Ayrshire, I see. Eh, Kilmarnock is already far enough that I have to factor in not just the unlucky weather they've had (rain thread!), but also the time and fuel costs in. And the answer has always been "nope". Let's hope they can move closer to Glasgow rather than further out into the boonies.
  12. Mmm, mine's a bit temperamental too, it likes to flash red codes even when fully charged. It does seem to settle down after a few on-off cycles though. There doesn't appear to be a user manual for the Lighter-S, but the Lighter manual suggests that holding the power button for 3 seconds while turning on toggles the auto-shutdown mode on and off. While off, it should flash green twice a second rather than once. Not that it should shut down while being used though. Have you spotted it flashing red at all?
  13. Wow, check out the weather on Saturday!

I can relate, this winter we barely played due to the rain.

Pisses me off as a lot of guys in my team have proper rain gear.

Feels like people are made of tissue paper..

  14. Thanks, that was interesting. Simon Pegg doing an awful Murcan accent, and Karl Urban doing an awful... uh, English? accent, I could have done without. The rest was pretty decent. Some nods to Kingdom Come and Alan Moore's take on Marvelman, I think.
  15. Were you on his lawn, playing your darn gangster-hop music too loud again?
  16. Why would I want to end a pointless online spat? Sad but not surprised to see that the £600 uber-LMG hasn't shifted, and neither have Krytac LMGs at £300. They move at £200.
  17. Might want to tell us where your home address is.
  18. Six. No, sev- eight. Tell a lie, nine. Hang on, I'll need to take my socks off. That's not the whole truth though. It's also hypocritical, see above. If there's one thing I'm constant about, it's inconsistency.
  19. But do BBs make a different sound if they came out of an M60 shaped blowgun, or or a Firehawk shaped one? If this sounds like parade-raining, my point in context is that support shaped blowguns are a small subset of a small hobby, so that seller might find himself with a wall ornament for quite some time.
  20. 1) Because "support gun" is largely a fictional narrative in airsoft? You're either firing for effect and getting hits, or you're just blasting bush and your target likely doesn't even realise that you're shooting at them, let alone that in your head, they're supposed to be both impressed and suppressed. To be clear I'm not criticising people who enjoy whacking the bushes, we're all playing a daft game of pretend for fun. But if your site doesn't run different rules for different toys, then the reality is a "support" gun is just a cumbersome carbine. 2) Don't we all like spending money on our preciouses and fiddling with them for that ultimate / imaginary extra 5m of accurate range? Heck, I'm currently running a Maple Leaf rubber and nub in my MP5K that over-hops the 0.2g that I feed it for CQB.
  21. I kind of feel for the guy, he's likely put a lot of time and money into making the perfect custom toy gnu for him. However, he may be missing the point that one man's dream custom is another's nightmare Frankengun. To my eyes, that's just another heavy lump of a thing that will perform the function of the "support gunner" imaginary role every bit as well as any plastic AEG with a box mag and a heavy trigger finger. Motor, barrel, hop unit and rubber are upgrades. A pistol grip and a 3D printed buffer tube are not. I'm particularly amused by buying a TruSight rubber ("capable of operating in -50C to +230C" 🙄 ) that comes with its own magical concave nub, then also buying a Maple Leaf nub. The value is entirely dependent on finding someone who wants exactly that toy, with exactly those parts on it. I wish the seller the best of luck with that.
  22. If "collection much preferred" then it would help if you gave a location, chap.
