You don't need to put UKARA number on the package if sending within the UK. ParcelForce48 are the only courier service that will officially carry replica firearms but claiming on a lost package with one may throw up a lot of obstacles. I've sent a few over the years marked as 'Sports Equipment' without a problem but it surely can happen. Meeting half way is an option if you ensure it remains completely covered at all times. If you can meet him at an airsoft venue that would be the best choice. You could also explain the use and care of the AEG at the same time.

@Vialli, definitely get 7.4v Li-Po's [1300mAh or higher that will fit] ...and a good charger. (SkyRC S60) Of my 16 AEGs, only one has a MOSFET. All use 7.4v except the Lonex BAW which uses 11.1v because of the recoil system but it doesn't have a MOSFET. The main downside of not using a MOSFET is arching on the trigger contacts will eventually damage the surfaces possibly to the point of not making good contact anymore but that would take a VERY long time. Using 11.1v will obviously accelerate the process so I'll have to keep an eye on that but even so it will take a long time to have a noticeable effect. Pulling the trigger slowly is worse for this situation.

My two sites still use fps but test with your chosen BB weight. It would be very easy for someone to lie about their BB weight though.

As @Shamal mentioned, take off the bottom off the grip and check the motor connectors.

I don't understand why they're not more popular 🤔 To check that its BAW ready, take the grip off and check the motor. Its should have this pinion gear. James: If you're planning to use it for hiking and so longer range than airsoft use then the UV-5R would be a better choice but its more complex to use than the 888s. Could also be worth buying the longer range NA-771 antenna. Duno the difference between UV-5R models so you'll have to check on that. As Roger stated, you'll be into HAM territory so licence will likely be required to be legal. More research I'm afraid... Just found this So you can put a face to the voice 😏

That's interesting. I didn't see any with fixed antennas when I was searching but I guess that's because I was looking at the cheapest ebay options. I do like the option of changing antenna even if its not strictly legal.

I got these 888s but they've raised the price 🤔 (I checked and paid £14.16 for em) Great if you want simple to operate radios with no fiddly buttons to operate with gloves on. I don't know if they're all the same but mine came with 'Beat Shift' scrambler which is really cool. (You can select which channels to use it on in the software) I can't check the power output but I did set it to 'LOW' and 'Narrow' on all channels I also bought a pair of these which are cute and flexible so it fits in a pocket nice and protected. They should reduce the output a bit but still worked great in the game zone with no interference. Alternatively you could get these which I checked are compatible. This is the cable I got. Downloaded software rather than use the disc.

Once you've got a good performer other other pewpews are just a different shape (which can be nice to vary) As Tackle said, maybe consider a different style of play with a longer DMR. Or you could get into recoils with the NGRS, BOLT or Lonex BAW (if you can find one)

UV-5R needs the licence as said but BF-888s use PMR frequencies which do not need a licence. (They are technically over powered to be fully legal but not heard of anyone having a problem with em) I saw a video about Baofeng radios which said that they often come with random frequencies used for testing so should be reprogrammed to the correct ones. But a friend I talked to at last game said he didn't change his and seemed to work fine. For my 888s radios I got a programming cable (£4) and changed to analogue PMR frequencies just to be sure.

From what I understand most sites have a commercial license for the marshals so you can use radios under their cover. Can always ask your local what their radio protocol is as they'll have one or two reserved channels. I just got a pair of 888s for £15 and very happy with their use at our last game.

Most brands are good at that price range. (400-500) You just have to check the details of the internals and extras that come with it to compare. Keep in mind that manufacturing has improved in the last 10 years so you don't need to spend that much to get a decent shooter. Search some of the posts talking about best starting guns...
