  1. Think of it as an investment since it can be transferred to a new purchase in the future...
  2. Welcome anyway ?
  3. True, but our favourite shop 'Patrolbase' only offer the choices of Red, Green or Blue. Places like BBguns4less have other colours but you have to be careful what you buy there.
  4. Welcome mate ? All the info you need is in the forum ? You just have to find it ? Unfortunately the choice is lower than it should be because stock is very low everywhere.
  5. Out of curiosity, did you get a black one or was part of it in a bright colour? (Legally it should be half painted red, green or blue) Its likely a problem with the low quality charger and battery but as Roger said, it may not be worth investing more money into that purchase unless you can try a different battery. How are you at soldering? If you can do basic soldering to change the plugs then its worth getting a Li-Po battery and charger to try because you'll also be able to use them with any other rifles you buy (assuming they fit) If your son really likes AKs I would recommend this one as a starter. https://bbguns4less.co.uk/products/cyma-cm522-ak47-with-full-stock-in-blue.html There would normally be other cheaper options but unfortunately there's a national stock shortage at the moment which will likely last into the next year. Is he set on an AK type? THIS or THIS are the cheapest available alternatives. Or a spring sniper rifle which doesn't need batteries at all. https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/airsoft-two-tone-sniper-rifles Pulling the cocking handle back does take some effort so only really suitable for ages 12 and up I would guess. (Make sure to select a 'Two Tone' colour option when ordering)
  6. It might come across as a bit mean to someone who isn't used to the humour around here ?
  7. Push the grip and body together as you pull on the pin. It may be caught on a lip.
  8. Lets just say that I didn't run over to the bush to find out... ?
  9. This is also handy for some extra tips...
  10. Flash mags are also very loud to wind. I hear 'zip-zip-zip' and I know my mate is hiding in a bush about 10 metres away ?
  11. A Co2 pistol is a bit more annoying to maintain than a green gas one. As BigStew said, you should remove the gas cartridge when not used. (This is a bit of a pain if not empty) Yes as you said, use a lubrication cartridge every 10 or so. (Adding oil for each replacement as above is also very good) Remember: Don't oil in the hop or barrel. They must stay dry.
  12. Well done ? It certainly can be confusing working out the OEM for some of these replicas. Hopefully you'll have lots of fun with it. Keep in mind: When the magazine is loaded with BB's, make sure to lock the bolt back before inserting the magazine into the gun otherwise you risk breaking the feed bar under the nozzle.
  13. Yep, I use a cap too. I'll look into getting one of those mesh ones
  14. Welcome and hope you enjoy your first game. Do lots of reading in the forum to get as much info as possible before making purchases. It'll save you money in the long run and should make the experience even better.
  15. New Li-Po bats will need a new charger but will give you more power in a smaller/lighter package than NiMh. If the old hops are still hoppin then may as well keep using em until they don't. Silicone spray may be good to clear out some gunk from the box but it will strip off any grease so not a good long term thing. Maybe open up your least favourite/cheapest to get reacquainted with the internals and you'll see the state of anything that needs replacing.
  16. Yeah, don't tell anyone until after you bought it ?
  17. We'll start the bidding at two camels ?? The classifieds here is probably the safest as you can check how long a potential buyer has been registered and how active they've been. You can also ask for UKARA and check it at FireSupport.
  18. Ye, fair enough
  19. Yeah, bit of a waste of time if you only find out once you get to the checkout. I wouldn't have a problem with being in China but they're clearly trying to be deceptive which makes me not trust them at all. Their TrustPilot review (albeit just one) isn't good either.
  20. Can you reposition the spring or fit a new one and glue one end in place?
  21. This one? https://www.tacticalgeartrade.co.uk/ I had a quick look and I can't tell its in china. That's a very sneaky underhanded tactic so I wouldn't shop there.
  22. It may be true that high grade polymer bodies can be superior to the lowest quality 'metal' ones but I still prefer the weight and feel of cold steel pot metal ?
  23. Nuprol for the fail What a surprise ?
  24. Yeah, I have to make do without the hook ? I think it would get in the way anyway.
  25. The TM looks great ? Once you have the stock it will be complete ? I got a CYMA M870 folding stock and grafted it onto an ASG SPAS It worked out quite well and luckily I'm not worried about accuracy to the real one ?
