  1. Thanks for your help gents! I have found an official product that may fix the issue. Its called a Strike Chamber and it will tighten the arm up using a rubber O-Ring and plastic attachment. In addition it includes a modified hop arm that apparently gives better shot consistency. Hell even if it doesn't work I have to open up the gun anyway to put these parts in regardless. If I need to add an additional washer then so be it! https://shop.ehobbyasia.com/first-factory-strike-chamber-for-marui-mp5-series-aeg.html Unfortunately the shop was having a sale on other MP5 parts... Time to pimp this sucker out! More ramen to eat this month...
  2. Doesn't the ICS Style of hop have to be adjusted through the side chamber? The JG Does not have that window unfortunately.
  3. Last review of 2018 has been posted! Battle Paintball and Airsoft's test day! Really enjoyed this one!

  4. Hello all! I have a JG MP5SD6. Love the platform. The hop unit is something to be a bit miffed about! It's the MP5 type which is adjusted by a small lever at the top of the receiver. I love the idea behind it, however it seems fairly loose and whenever I fire, the recoil from the gearbox alone lowers the hop. Anybody else experience this? I am thinking maybe a washer or two on the mechanism to prevent it from moving, just wondering if there was a better or easier way? My mates JG MP5 does not have this problem despite being the same age (1 week old!) Unfortunately the MP5 seems to be one of the harder guns to take apart in my experience. Even getting to the hop unit and barrel means taking apart the receiver and removing the gearbox (Unless I am doing something wrong!) Its a shame there is no true aftermarket replacement for this particular type of MP5 hop unit.
  5. Had an excellent game of airsoft today at a new site. Can't wait to write the review!  Definitely in the top 3 for me!

Gutted I missed it. I was booked in with another 2 guys but we had to bail as my mates sister was taken into hospital seriously ill. Glad it was good and looking forward to the review

  6. With all the MP5 love the forum has been exuding I think this is an excellent purchase. 200 Round GSG (Cyma High Cap) MP5 mags. £5 each brand new from action hobbies. They fit perfectly in my new JG MP5. Appears to feed well. http://www.actionhobbies.co.uk/GSG-Magazine-For-MP5-200rd_A22K3O.aspx?nh=281823#.W_1MohP7TBI I bought 9! (Between two people )
  7. *Looks like my post got dragged in with the discussion thread. Will repost in the actual thread!
  8.  Just changed my first motor, So easy! Switched my JG MP5's stock motor out with a TM EG1000. Huge difference in magnetism between the two. Results in a much better trigger response with the TM though slightly slower ROF. Much quieter as well as it doesn't have to struggle. Think I am really in love with this cheap as chips gun!

Later on tonight i'll change the barrel to a stock ICS one, install Deans so I can use Lipos to claw back some ROF.

I love my JG MP5 bought it second hand off a friend who is a very good AEG tech, it runs 345 ish fps and is stupidly accurate. Cheapest gun I own and the one I use the most

They certainly aren't bad! Why we started stocking the higher end JG stuff, have been running a JG ak and havent had a change to stress test an MP5 apart from running stupid amount of BB's through one, hows it going on game days?

Bloody great ! I get an occasional feed issue with the standard hicaps but I usually run with one of those 'double' mags which looks cool and never has any feed issues. That and a bag of BB's sees me through most games.  Its stupidly accurate and matches any other AEG on our woodland site for range. I seriously can't fault it and am tempted to pick up the non suppressed version just for the 'standard' look. Here is mine

  9. I compared both to them, the JG magnetic strength was very very weak in comparison. The TM had no problems being picked up from the table under its own magnetism. Put it into the Mp5. Much better trigger response, though slightly slower rate of fire. Does seem to be a bit quieter as well! Just need to change over to Deans and to lipos later on and I should get some of that ROF back. Happy days!
  10. Quick Question: I have a JG MP5 with what is likely the JG Black Ferrite motor. I also have a spare TM EG1000 ferrite motor. Both are rated for the same TPA at 22. Will I see any increase in performance with the Eg1000? Or will it just be a bit quieter? I was going to use the armature of the EG1000 in a frankenmotor project. But if I get a decent performance increase using it in the MP5 then I will scrap that idea. Cheers!
  11. Only note is that they tend to release mags on 1911 types due to the button placement.
  12. Just began the laborious process of making the site reviews a bit clearer, adding contact details and changing from a Positive/Negative rating to Good/Average/Bad. On site shop ratings are being changed on some reviews as the average shop was smaller then I thought. Also need to make things a bit standardised as there is a marked difference between the early reviews to the last few months. :(

Well I certainly appreciate the efforts!! Thanks bro

  13. I could warm up the glue no problem. Putting it back together without it looking like a sloppy mess and affecting the integrity of the mag is something else!
  14. I tried skirmishing it a couple of weeks ago but it chronoed too hot at 366 FPS. I may be lopping a coil or two off tonight if I have time and play it on Sunday. Problem with the VN mags I have is that they are hot glued together. I do have upgraded Maple springs to go in, but no way to install them without destroying the mag. I will need to look into different mags.
  15. Just picked up 9 GSG (CYMA) MP5 High Cap mags. 5 for me and 4 for my battlebuddy. Action Hobbies have them for £5 per mag. Hopefully they should fit the JG's no problems. Have also picked up an ICS MP5SD Silencer Adapter. It converts the weird twisted end silencer into a standard CW 14mm thread. Now I just need to find a CW Tracer unit (Would rather not have an adapter as I am already using one!)
  16. My issue is trying to sort out an effective rail system and sort out a tracer that will fit. I think I have found an adapter for a tracer unit, though it's clockwise. The Mp5SD is a nightmare of compatibility.

I believe my motors have arrived as well, though I am not supposed to know and I wont be getting them til Christmas day. My SL8 desperately needs it! Its a DMR and physically set to single shot, so if and when it locks up I cannot use full auto to unlock it again. Hopefully this motor will sort that out
  18. New review posted! Cool Under Fire in Kent.

  19. Absolutely awful day of Skirmishing. Review will be forthcoming...

At least all of my gear worked for the most part!

  20. Was at a skirmish today, showed my battlebuddy a JG MP5J for sale. He loved it and bought it. Then and there. So I bought its SD brother 😄 bbargain for £100. Pretty surprised how well it performs!

    Shes grabbed them for me
  22. Now that is lovely. If it wasn't for the Silverback existing this would be my choice for a sniper rifle.

@ak2m4 I have asked the mrs to buy me a Long and Short type SLD high torque for Christmas. Hopefully by the time she orders it there will be some left! Going to use the Long type for the neo can and put a TM EG1000 armature into it!
  24. Just snagged myself an ICS L85 from Proairsoftsupplies for just £195
