  1. next time you have it open snap a picture of the bottom board, in particular the square mosfet near the wiring solder points. I can't find a decent picture online but it looks like a 3503 mosfet maybe?
  2. And this is probably a good point to get across in this topic. Leave first aid to trained professional if at all possible. If they need your help they will ask for it. To give an example, an old bloke, not unlike myself, falls over and stops breathing. You arrive on the scene and decide to administer chest compressions after doing the ABC's. Now some of the older gentlemen on here will jump in with 15 and 2, some of the slightly younger peeps will go for straight compressions and the new kids on the block will be doing 30 and 2 as per the current guidelines. It turns out that it was in vain and the old fella never recovers. sad times all round. Now, the old fella was a top bloke but his family turn out to be arseholes. All 3 options above showed a willingness to preserve life but only 1 was concurrent with the latest guidelines so anyone doing either of the first 2 could be liable to a negligence claim. probably most of you reading this will be thinking, "I'd do it anyway" which is the right answer but just remember the world is full of arseholes. Also don't be handing out over the counter drugs to people as you have no idea of their medical history or what other medication they may have taken.
  3. Just go buy a MWS. get it out your system as they are really good. Just make sure you buy a Bavtac 140% nozzle return spring for when the TM one breaks (and it will eventually). Once you get over the MWS start to have a look at something a bit more exotic like the GHK Sig 552/553 or the Archwick ACP9K (on pre-order now it seems). I've been running mostly gas guns this summer and if you find yourself at UCAP vendetta then feel free to ask for a shot of the GHK 552, ACP9K G, TM AKX or whatever I've decided to try out that day.
  4. This is the one I use: https://grabcad.com/library/airsoft-gearbox-v2-g-g-1#! looking at your model it looks like the V2 will be too tall so you have to get creative
  5. apart from the missing parts, what's the actual fault with the pistol?
  6. I had one of these years ago and loved it but ended up selling it and wished i hadn't! What kind of swaps are you interested in?
  7. you can't currently, closest would be the ARES SR16 long tan version. To make it a closer match you would need to replace the stock with a Magpul SL-K tan stock, remove the QD points from the front rail and fill them in and fit a Magpul MOE tan grip for an AEG. It wouls still be inaccurate as the outer rail would be about 15mm too short and the right side bolt release is a different type. If I ever get my hands on one I can probably model and metal print the correct bolt release but they seem hard to find in the shops right now.
  8. The suppressor already exists by another company. check here: https://topboosttoys.com/products/smoke-wolf-silencer unless this is you? anyway, cool idea and I might or might not have ordered one
  9. The OP didn't mention if he usually does woodland or CQB but here's my thoughts on GBBR's. I have a few: GHK SIG 552, GHK AKMS, TM AKX, VFC M4A1, VFC MP5SD, AGM M4, WE PDW, WE SCAR L, WE M4 CQB, Marayama ACP9K G Pro, TM MP7 x 2, KWA Scorpion, KWA Mac11, TM Siaga 12K and a Beretta SMG from 1987 which is more of a wallhanger. I did have a TM MWS but sold it a while back when I fell out with GBBR's but now think I need another or the DE clone. I've also got a couple of the GBBR 10/22's but I'll discount them from this waffle as they are set up for sniping. I don't use GBBR's at woodland sites during walk on days simply because I'm outgunned or more accurately out ammo'd. I tend to use my TM recoils, KWA T10 or GBLS on those days and get a similar level or recoil to keep me happy. When I use GBBR's it's mostly CQB sites and I don't run anything over .28 tracers as there doesn't seem to be a need. If I need more range the I just get a bit closer. I tend to carry at a minimum 6 mags when using GBBR's as anything less means I'm half fighting and half reloading after running away. I also carry at least one pistol speed loader and a fake grenade that is actually a gas can so I can top up my mags if needed. I've fired quite a few RS rifles over the years and I'd say the recoil on a GBBR is similar to a 22 LR round. Some GBBR's do a better job of increasing the realism, for instance, the TM MP7 has the bolt smashing into the rear, right next to your ear and this increases your perception of the noise from firing but to everyone else it just sounds like a GBBR. Firing hot can be an issue and I've found that using the Vorsk gas either number 6 on hot days or number 8 on colder days gets me through the chrono without issues. By using the different numbers I don't need to worry about fitting Npas's although in the WE GBBR's and 10/22's I've fitted Npas's. Looking at reliability, the TM GBBR's all work perfectly if kept stock and you want to use up to .28's. If you decide to go for heavier ammo then you go into the modding world and it can go either way until you hit the right combination. What works for some people doesn't always work for others. My GHK's both work very well stock and I'd put them as the same reliability as my TM's. Some people have had issues but my only issue has been with the GHK mag base plate falling off and loosing a spring and follower which was $8 to replace but still a pain in the arse. My VFC M4 again works all the time and it's a Gen1 version and I bought a bunch of spares, ready for it to collapse in a heap but I haven't needed to use any of the spares yet. The MP5SD took a bit of work and aftermarket parts to get it firing consistantly but now it's a steam train. I've slated WE GBBR's before and all mine are Gen 1 closed bolt version and work ok'ish in good weather but the Mags are a terrible design. It's a clam shell design with the worlds biggest square o ring that you will need to eventually fill with silicon and wait 24 hours to see if it still leaks. I wouldn't recommend WE as a first GBBR simply because you could come away with negative feeling about GBBR's at the end of it. My KWA scorpion is awesome and the MAC 11 will either work fantastically or vent all the gas depending on how it feel that day. I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned maintenance but GBBR's require cleaning now and again to stop the working parts getting gummed up from dust, twigs, leaves, bits of chopped BB's etc. It's good practise to wipe the bolt and upper recess where the bolt travels down and re-lubricate along with cleaning the barrel and hop up chamber at least every couple of games. Just like the RS versions, grease attracts dust etc which can effect the function of a GBBR. I was going to mention that the Marayama ACP9 G, the MPX and the up and coming ACP9 are all excellent little SMG's with the Marayama taking 50 round glock mags but you will probably end up buying a MWS
  10. yes they do. I order RIF's now and again from them.
  11. It might be the main board within the MP5. TM swapped to another chip type when they moved from the A5 to the SD6. There's a youtube video in Japanese which shows the chip difference. easy and expensive fix is to buy a complete lower from Impulse101. You could try asking Fire-support to order a replacement board but it will take a long time to arrive if they can actually get it (6 months at a guess). You could take the main board to a electronics repair shop and see if they can have a look but if it was me I'd reach out to Phil who runs a youtube channel and his website is https://www.consolefix.shop/. He knows nothing about airsoft but he is a good console/electroincs repair guy who might be able to fix it and maybe get some channel content from the repair. worth giving him a shout.
  12. I'd like to buy one but can't find them in stock anywhere.
  13. It's not really a case of how many or what cost. The UK needs to be seen to be building the rifles in the UK after being burned in the past with limited or removed support for a foreign product that wan't used in the way they wanted us to use it. A couple of examples would be Comms during the Falklands and Helicopters not having software support and being grounded for years. Can't have a rifle that you can't get spares parts for just because the seller doesn't like the war you are fighting. My main concern is we don't design it ourselves as we will just end up with another EM2 but in 6.8mm. Ideally we should grab a bunch of German scientists and build a rocket that will reach the moon...oops sorry, I meant hire a bunch of weapon design specialists from a country that actually builds and uses guns and then patent the design.
  14. Something to consider also is that the American's will eventually force Nato to adopt the 6.8 round as they did with the 7.62 and them 5.56 round. This may be a few years away and will only happen if the US find that the 6.8 is all it is cracked up to be. If it does happen there will be a flood of countries and companies producing new rifles in 6.8 and the ability to manufacture the new round (as it's quite complex). This would be the ideal time for the UK to develop a new rifle however we don't know how to do that any more as no one is allowed a gun and even replicas firing 6mm bb's are frowned upon. The mostly likely outcome will be similar to the SLR and we will buy the rights to produce our own home built version of someone else's rifle. Probably best to stick to a known good rifle pattern until the new round starts making headway into Nato and might have been a driver for the KS-1 selection. The A2's in the armoury aren't a good option as they were procured to replace the worn out A1's and the A2's are now getting to the same point in their life. More telling is the lack of L85's being issued to the newly formed units and indicates that there is a push to remove the stanglehold the L85 seems to have over the Armed Forces. It's not the worst rifle in the world but it doesn't matter how much you upgrade it, you can't polish a turd. The amount of mangles A2 stamped steel receivers I seen on the armourers bench down in Helmand would give a good indication of just how cheap it really is.
  15. Did anyone buy one of these? There seems to be 3 versions on a similar theme. There's the Double Eagle version, the CYMA CGS version and the T8 version. I'm not sure if they are all the same OEM and was wondering if anyone has had a chance to buy and use one of the 3 brands above? it would be good to have an honest review of the 3 new GBB's alongside a MWS for reference. UK prices put the DE version at around the same price as a MWS and I'm not sure why.
  16. no, I usually only make them at request from people i know. so far I've made about 20 sets for people and everyone that has used them have never fogged up. The set in the picture above have just been made for one of the marshals at a UCAP site. I've got enough bits here to make 2 more sets before I have to order more fans from China. If 2 people are interested I can sell a set for 60 quid which covers postage and if you manage to break them in 12 months I'll repair for free. 60 quid might seem steep but i'm about breaking even as everything is blooming epensive now. I use a flexi resin for the fan housing and the price of flexi resin is getting stupid! (78 quid for a bottle now).
  17. for 109 quid plus shipping I'll stick to my ghetto modded glasses.
  18. looking at the design of the mags I think a external mag will follow soon. If not it should be pretty easy make an adapter to feed externally. the only issue is how to get gas into it if the baw sack is feeding BB's instead of gas.
  19. Most of my lock ups came from double or triple taps. My finger is working faster than the AEG can handle. It's not something that happens on real steel so hardly a case of not knowing how to shoot but a limitation on the AEG performance.
  20. It's a symptom of spamming the trigger in semi. A very quick double tap can result in lockup. it's easy enough to switch to full auto to clear but annoying enough for me to swap out all my M4 style recoils with a mosfet. on a 7.4v Lipo I can usually make it happen 50% of the time and using a 11.1v it's a lot less. I've got 5 or 6 M4 varients here and all did it. friends that i play with also have had the same issue with their M4's and I've seen it happen on the AK NGRS platofrm as well.
  21. TM NGRS M4 series: needs a mosfet to stop the annoying stopping in semi for no reason TM NGRS AK series: no major issues but they feel cheap with the plastic fake wood TM NGRS MP5 series: Go for the SD6 as the A5 has the older main board which can fail (not very often but it's there) TM MK46: heavy, expensive and looks the mutts nuts when it firing. KWA T10: needs a titan to stop the lock ups in semi and a heavier recoil than the TM NGRS's DAS GBLS: expensive but probably the best AEG recoil and very close to a GBB rifle recoil Top Shell ejecting M4: impractial and a bit of a unicorn now. You could also go for a GBB rifle. The TM MWS and AK GBB's are a really good platform and can work all year round (almost and you are limited to low ammo counts in the mag) The Saiga 12K is a bit of a game changer if you are a CQB fanboy. If they produce mags that hold more than 15 shots it's going to be manic at a lot of CQB sites. I'd hate to come up against a semi good team all rocking Saiga's as the volume of fire would be insane. These opinions are based on owning all the above and worked on them all to some degree. I can't comment on the Bolt series as I've never bought one as the ones I've seen annoy me enough as the fake bolt sometimes stops in the half open position which grips my Sh*t for some reason. If you aren't in a rush to buy then keep an eye on TM's releases next year. With the gradual improvements to the NGRS series over the last few years I wouldn't be surprised to see a new M4 style NGRS using the TM fancy mosfet and batteries they are now putting in the MP5 series.
  22. https://www.wgcshop.com/products/vfc-vf9-stk-m249g-bk02 para stock here
  23. I seen one sell at the weekend for £350 with a bunch of mags and S hopped and that was a friends price. I seen on youtube that some shops have had lawyers letters to stop selling them so that might push the value up as well. I'd say around £400 to £450 at a push would be a good price. (p.s. I've got one here and it's an awesome little AEG)
  24. the micro switch highlighted in yellow may be sticking.
  25. took a break from the SP9 build and designed and printed a front end for the Saiga 12K as I'm running it CQB so need somewhere for a torch and front grip. File can be found here for free: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6127823
