Slight impulse buy so look out for some stuff in the classifieds soon.

Does feel a bit plasticky compared to other TM pistols, but it doesn’t matter as it’s never getting fired

For most films, it's passable. For films like John Wick, it wouldn't work - but films like that have more stringent H&S checks in place due to the nature of the choreography.

And as i work in CGI/VFX, spotting fake or poorly done muzzle flash, shell ejection and the like can ruin a film. Like those Sky made action films - they look dreadful (among many other bad things about them).

Edit: Also, after spending time on set with replica and prop firearms - the armorers i've worked with would blow a bollock if they were on that Rust set. It's annoying that 2 people not following the rules cast shade on the whole profession. Imagine if they banned train drivers after a rail accident - hyperbole, yes, but a whole industry and profession shouldn't have to change because 2 people didn't follow standard, strict rules.

2nd edit: Also the knock on effect - VFX ain't cheap. So the budget comes from somewhere. The studio pockets (lol), or the VFX budget. Which means corners get cut, artists get squeezed and underpaid, or it gets outsourced to India. They always saying "fix it in post" when people in post always say "Get it in camera".

After the Baldwin on set accident,I've read that some studios are going to replica's and prop guns to avoid anything else happening. So expect to see a lot more CGI muzzle flash and case ejection, as well as hicaps and feed lips.

Not sure i agree with it, as the Baldwin shooting was breaking many many rules and should've been avoided

I am off to Japan in a few weeks and will have a few days in Osaka.

I am planning on buying a load of swanky fishing gear when I am over there, as they love fishing over there. However, my hotel in Osaka looks to be a 10 min walk from Gurkha and a few other shops so I will take a look when there. I doubt I will be buying any rifs, but I might try and pick up something Japanesey to show off when I get back home.

    And picture tax

Rep mart is great - cheaper than most and like I said, a really nice shop with plenty of space to look. They even have custom carrier bags that fit the boxes in nicely.

also if you’re in Osaka, SFBU had some great gear in, and lots of new goodies like the Carl Gustav launcher, and the new scar compact thing.

So after completely forgetting about this pistol for about 10 years after longing for it for ages: I was Googling WA SVI’s, trying to find a price for mine to sell at an airsoft boot sale last weekend, and went down a small rabbit hole of other WA pistols - setting off multiple old memories of pre VCRA days.

Then at said boot sale, a van pulls up directly opposite me and what do you think they have…

    WA Colt Delta Elite.

I think it was a sign that I had to buy it.

Thats just reminded me - Vans now do outdoor boot/trainer things. I got a pair of MTE 2 hi tops for japan, and they were great. Did about 15 miles a day on average and they were great. Would've been ruined in normal trainers.

Something like these could be a good airsoft boot

I saw this, and would absolutely love one

The "why" is because he (Kogoro Kurata) can, he's also made mech robots before: https://popularairsoft.com/heres-giant-robot-duel-footage-you-have-been-waiting

He's made some other interesting pieces - some remote control items, some weapons / replicas, etc. - https://nandemotsukuruyo.com

Potential for vehicle-mounted fun on some larger sites / sims, but even on a tripod or a wheeled dolly it could be great fun, a kind of stationary juggernaut 😛

Pipe dream: scaled-down version of airsoft CIWS an RC car/truck base, mobile death-spamming platform 😈 (bonus points for turning it into a Minion 😂)

My VFC LAR/FAL DX version landed in UK in late April, customs had it for 5 weeks. After the long and painful waiting, it finally arrived this week.

Pretty confident it's the first DX FAL arrived in UK or even Europe. Shame that customs wanted to have more fun with it before I could get hold of

The difference between the normal version and DX is the special wooden box, proper trades and every part of metal made of steel. Might be a bit overpriced but I'll pay for that as a super FAL fan
