  1. My HK416 is 10" (not keen on the barrel extension) and was fine in The Mall (where I have only played once so no expert there) but I like the idea of the Kurz as a secondary weapon. It is only the fact of needing different magazines that stops me getting one next instead of a pistol.
  2. It is okay as my BBs already have wax on them (apparently) but prefer playing in a more natural environment
  3. I don't know about that, I love spending time in some bush! And a sudden entry into a rear passage, just to see the surprise on her face. Back to airsoft... MP5 or MP5K work well at the Mall.
  4. Anyone else going to UCAP Sandpit on Sunday? Any regulars that can show a first timer around.

  5. I have the same issue at home, using both my desktop and laptop on Windows7 and IE. No quote or multi quote function, and even more annoying is that I am unable to copy and paste any text. When using an ipad at work, then I experience no issues.
  6. Latest UK Tactical discount, £50 off a WAS Recon Plate Carrier (RPC) until midnight Wednesday 30 September. So £69.95 instead of £119.95
  7. Just read the 4 page article in Airsoft Action (November edition) about the Sandpit. Good timing. It had a good write-up, although all sites in magazine do tend to. I did take on board the carrying of flapjacks, so have placed several in a spare pouch ready for the energy boost.
  8. Just tried to look at the link. Page is unavailable and says that the link is broken or has been removed
  9. Second that. Good range of quality kit that is fully adjustable.
  10. Let us know how you get on. It is good to see another small business operating in the UK.
  11. I have an AEG that does not make that much of a motor whine (which I also dislike) due to the recoil that has a nice solid 'thunk' sound. Although it does not have the same kick or sound as a GBBR gun, it is not bad for an electric gun. However, it is an equivalent price to a GBBR.
  12. Yes I do have good boots, hiking and an old pair from Afghan, plus blister kit. If I get geographically challenged then it will become a recce of the area. I expect the scenarios this Sunday will force players along set routes and choke points. Looking forward to it, just hope no rain.
  13. Kit all depends on your budget and preferences. I like UK Tactical, very good service and discount offers (http://www.uktactical.com) and in particular the Warrior Assault System.
  14. Yes, sod's law. So what is the Sandpit like? I have seen some youtube videos and it looks an interesting site to play.
  15. Know what you mean about wanting use your own RIF, I missed out on some skirmish days in the summer because I did not want a rental gun. Regret that a little now because I could have had a few more days out.
  16. And discuss the virtues of milsim v skirmishes . Must remember to pack my sandbag to collect up all those used BBs too
  17. UCAP Sandpit is holding an Arnhem inspired event on Sunday 27 September. According to their facebook page: a game very loosely based on Operation Market Garden aka "a bridge too far"... Plenty of mortars and big bangs... hope to have a Russian tank alongside 432 APC, Saracen, and WMIK. Attacking team split into start positions to capture vital crossroads in middle of 'Arnpit'. I shall be going, and it will be my first time at the Sandpit. No booking necessary, just rock up. May see some of you there. www.ucap.co.uk/ucap-airsoft-venues/ucap-sandpit-venue
  18. Speak for yourself, at my age I tend to just walk around in the woods . You go first, I'll cover you.
  19. Needed a sling and saw a video on YouTube for the Irene Adaptive Sling (IAS) - it is a 1 point to 2 point sling that has mash hooks (which I find much easier to fit on sling mounts). It cost $52.90 so about £34 (including P&P) from a US supplier Command Airsoft Technologies on eBay, had to email them to get the shipping price for the UK. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221296436186
  20. Real life First Person Shooter - entertaining and gratuitous Call of Duty style action. I expect some airsoft players imagine this very scene www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWURz6HvTVw
  21. If you are buying the FMA fast helmet, they come with plenty of pads to adjust to fit. I removed a couple as not needed. The rear dial to adjust fitting is really good. I have just purchased a new one from Airsoft Peak for £34.81 (18% discount on this forum today), although eBay maybe a few pounds cheaper. This will be my second FMA Fast helmet, and I plan to remove some of the internal front padding to tailor fit my Dye Precision i4 mask.
  22. It is very small, hence is fits a pistol, but is still 600Lm and does the job. Also handy as a back up torch, and one you can set down on a floor for distraction. I also have a Fenix PD35 which is closer to £50. It has 5 different settings up to 960 lumens and strobe. It takes the 18650 battery (or possibly 2 x CR123A) You can put a tail switch on it. It is a flashlight that I use for camping or when travelling. I have a flashlight mount that it sits in on 20mm RIS and green filter for lens protection.
  23. I can recommend the TrustFire G02 CREE XP-G R5. You can get them on eBay for about £11-16. You need one CR123A battery, a rechargeable one will cost another £7-9. It is a basic small cheap tactical flashlight that fits onto a 20mm RIS picatinny rail. I have mine mounted under my barrel and in easy reach of my foregrip to pressure switch on the 600 lumen light/strobe. It is small enough to fit a pistol. Being 600Lm it is bright. Only on, off, and strobe. Only negative is the lens is not BB proof, had mine shot out at The Mall, but the flashlight still worked. Will get a thicker filter to protect it.
  24. Yes, hours of not finding anything. On the plus side, I have now given some thought to having a shotgun. Cheap and fun.
  25. Bacon and egg baps for breakfast... meal of heroes. Perfect start to the cold winter morning.
