The marksmanship principles do translate directly into airsoft, just probably not in the way you imagine. Having the rifle butt in the shoulder is irrelevant - and not something that is dictated by the marksmanship principles. Indeed there are plenty of RS techniques that don't demand this, yet meet the principles for any particular application. With guns that are generally much lighter than the RS equivalent, and recoil that is non existent to negligible, the first two principles can be achieved rather easily, and without particular reference to more traditional positioning. The third principle (sight alignment) is clearly fundamental, but the fourth principle (shot release) is largely irrelevant, unless the gun is really being wildly waved around by the trigger pull. Factoring in the generally short airsoft ranges + inherent wild inaccuracy of our platform, fast trigger pulls will generally be better practice than a slow deliberate follow through after a shot - perhaps the exception being using a very well set up sniper rifle at the extremities of its range....
Oh yea I fully agree with all the points you raise. That's what I mean by keep telling myself it's Airsoft and not RS it's just a pain to let go of habits from being a target shooting instructor for the cadets.
A plastic ball flying in the air out of a smooth barrel isn't going to perform accurate at all every shot.

They look like same markings that are on the golden eagle M4 series of riffles.

I'll only watch a gun review if its a model im considering buying, & then ill only watch a respected reviewer, someone who will point out its faults, most definitely NOT a 15yo sprog in his bedroom, or anyone with paid promotions within vids, literally sold their soul to the devil lol.
As for airsoft in game play, I'd rather stick a mk5 up my arse 😵
The paid promotions in reviews really puts me off. So many reviewers for other products out there that get paid from the manufacturer to do a review they like especially in my other interest of cars, so many car YouTubers I refuse to watch as the endorse terrible products just so they get a pay day from the manufacturer. Makes them dishonest reviews then.

You forgot the 20 minutes dedicated to listing every individual control on the gun and how ambidextrous it is.
Makes me laugh when I see reviews of guns and a big negative they say is this isn't ambidextrous so I wouldn't purchase this gun, even though I only shoot r/h but I'll still pull this gun down. It's like come on do your research on a particular platform and you'll know before hand that the rs isnt ambi. (Yes I'm talking about the l85).

There's the problem
In my defence it's mainly for gun reviews. Can't stand the ones running round a field shooting thinking they are sas. They never show you how many hits they received.

One thing I have to keep reminding myself with Airsoft is these aren't rs guns. Been watching a few YouTube videos of airsofters and it grinds my gears seeing so much poor marksmanship principles being practiced. Basic things like only the bottom of the but in the shoulder, snapping of the trigger and so on.
I suppose this is why I've read a few times Airsoft can teach a few bad habits that on rs you wouldn't get away with and make you a bad shooter.
But at the end of this everyone is having fun and I need to forget about my training and experience with rs so I'm not one to pull people down if I see bad practices on a site or video.

A good fun day at gaol events the jail. Great site and well managed. My only gripe with this place is the time to set up and safety brief takes a while, today we arrived at 0810 but we didn't start shooting till 1030ish. But I can overlook this for a well run site during game. The marshals are spot on and the site gaffer keeps a bit of humour and professionalism in the day.
Was my second time here and will definitely be back again.

What a deal 🤣 it's cheaper for a brand new one on defcon lol plus the great 2 tone sanding.
Can't say I like that stock either. Looks like a cross with a honey badger. Mp5 don't need buffer tubes. Is this based off a genuine mp5 or just a creation from cyma?

This doesn't so much annoy me but puzzles me.
People who post personally identifiable information such as phone numbers or postcode of where they live. Is online security not a thing anymore?
I can agree here. Baffles me. But then again as ex forces I was always taught in the RAF to observe syops while online.

Some WhatsApp chats were insufferable. It wasn't just the slurs, it's the memes lampooning those with disabilities and other shock jock behaviour. I didn't ask for that shit on my phone. I have a dark, childish and often distasteful sense of humour but there's a time and place.
The worst is where you find 100+ unread messages and you'd be lucky to find 5% of them to actually discuss airsoft. I do appreciate that some chats have somewhat strict rules to keep the discussion to sales and tech/equipment advice only and use the dedicated chat if they want to dick about.
I can agree here with WhatsApp groups. I've been in a few for the car hobby side of things, and some of the chats are just nonsense, can finish work and got 200+ unread messages about nothing to do with the group subject. Added in when people feel the need to send voice notes in the chat.

Hi all,
As in the title, Wondering what you all think about those foregrips with bipods spring loaded into them.
I've always been running one on my SR47, Since I'm either all in on static position support type of play style, Or running around. It's a stable enough solid bipod, And deploys and retracts quick. The grip itself is pretty monolithic however, And it does occasionally get bumped on trees, Or gets in the way of the whole rock-in mag thing.
Haven't seen any one else using something like this, It's either just a foregrip, Or foregrip and bipod seperate on DMRs.
They are very flimsy and prone to snapping. At least the 2 I've tried have done that. Not really useful and barely used the bipod function.

"Hey guys, look at my gun/cat/car and give me upvotes because my life is empty and meaningless!"
It's a circlejerk of the most dull people out there.
Or I hate so and so just because I do and I hate change and won't give it a chance.
Seen that one alot lately especially about some bands I followed on there for a while. Especially with linkin park, people saying I hate them because they aren't linkin park without Chester bla bla bla bla. I just feel like saying give them a chance man but there's no point as you get shot down with a bullshit excuse.

Reddit's the arsehole of the internet, full of uninteresting vapid attention-whoring cunts. Can't stand it.
Glad I'm not only one to agree. Too much moaning and bitching going off on there. Full of geeky gits out to mega troll or abuse others.

Played from mid nighties through to just after VCRA about 2007. Just started again recently.
Lipos, mosfets, quick change springs and Gbbrs are probably the biggest game changers. For me there’s so much more choice, when I started if you wanted an AEG it was TM, now no matter how obscure a weapon you’re looking for, it’s probably available somewhere.
Welcome back. It is all new and confusing at times. Even 10 years ago there wasn't the amount there is now. I love GBBR and have always had one but they are a pain to set up right at times but touch wood my l85 is running sweet. So many different brands out there for aeg now.

This is definitely a great place to chat and discuss Airsoft was never doubting that. Just with me being fairly newly returning was curious if there was any other methods people use to chat.
I hate Facebook with a passion so not bothered about joining Facebook groups added I deleted my profile few years ago so I'd have to rejoin. Place is just one big massive advertising platform full of trolls and bots. Use to be handy years ago especially for buying and selling till they updated their policy on firearms and that died off.

Other than this forum does anyone one know of any other places on the net to go talk Airsoft (other than Facebook or Reddit as I don't use these)?
I have an Instagram but that isn't a good tool to chat and meet others. I feel forums are a slowly dying thing but great to see this one is still going well and people interacting.

For me it's when someone asks for advice but then soon as a knowledgeable person answers they shun that advice and say but my mate or mate says this. Totally ignoring what advice is given.
